Soccer isn't most NFL Fans cup of tea so to speak - but it's the biggest sporting event on the planet. It's happening now and in Nth America. So - here's a post about it.

While the fake injuries and play acting are noxious - here are some clips of "the beautiful game" (a name for football that was popularized by Pele)

Ronaldinho was truly amazing - always played with a smile on his face. Scored lots and set up lots of goals for others. Very unselfish.

Maradona - if you've never seen this 2 minute 30 second video of his warm up, it will probably make you smile while he casually does some amazing things with the ball.

And this is a 4 minute tribute to Maradona from a great international player -

I'm not a huge soccer fan though will watch the world cup - here's one of my favorite players who was talented and a bit of a character. Sorry - video is grainy because he played a long time ago.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Mexico played well against a bad South African team. South Korea were excellent.
Brazil Vs Morocco the pick of the games in the next 2 days.

I'll watch some of it. I never really got into outdoor soccer. Too slow paced for me. I used to enjoy indoor soccer, Cleveland Crunch and all that.

It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

Loving the World Cup so far, don’t watch much soccer, but love watching the World Cup!

USA looked the best I’ve ever seen them play. Spain plays shortly, most oddsmakers have them winning it all. Bring on ALL the games.

Soccer was not a game I grew up with.

I have never played soccer. The sports I grew up with were boxing, baseball, football, and basketball.

I have tried to watch soccer but other than goals being scored. I don't know any of the fine details of the sport. So it is hard to appreciate what I am seeing.

When I watch baseball. It is the exact opposite. I know baseball on a coaching level. I know the absolute minutiae of baseball.

It seems hard to understand that you can play soccer and the game can often end in a tie. It seems like a contradiction to competition.

But the sport has a massive audience. So, I guess it doesn't matter.

Lots of running and passing on a giant field with no standard for size.

When I try to watch soccer. I drop out early. I wish our team well and have a close friends from Morocco and France that I will root for.

No offense to anyone, but ......

Watch soccer or watch paint dry.

Bring on the paint!

Much like yourself I'm simply not a soccer fan. I have nothing against the sport but I'm just of the age that it was ever really a part of my life growing up. I do however think it's a great thing that it's a sport that is watched around the world and involves the entire globe. Something that actually gives all a common interest to share. It's great that the U.S was selected to host the World Cup and is a big shot in the arm for the economy of the host cities.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I'll go with watching grass grow. I did leave it on while working around the house the other day with no immediate impulses to hang myself; maybe I'm turning the corner.
