Says they found a rolled up $20 near the body but no drugs were evident. I'm liking my theory more all the time folks. Maybe he had a friend over and they took the drugs with them or the housekeeper did him a favor and flushed them after calling the medics .

Just clikcing.....

I really liked him as an actor. Partly because he was always entrenched with period piece films. And I am always a sucker for Historical and or Period piece films...LOL. I was actually suprised when he did Batman, because it seemed out of place with the rest of his work.

One of my favorites was The Four Feathers. GREAT movie and he does quite well in it.

I hope that this death was accidental or natural. I would rather he not be remembered as someone who had internal demons from which he could not escape. I would prefer he be remembered for his work.

I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...

It's looking more and more like he took too many anxiety and relaxation pills that, along with the pneumonia he had, caused him to quit breathing.

That's the sad state of Hollywood today. A celebrity dies and a ton of people automatically assume it is a suicide or an illegal drug overdose. There are quite a few times where that is the case, but anymore it's almost assumed when there is a Hollywood tragedy.

BTW, I've now seen a few reports that say the $20 had no drugs on it, so that theory is out of the question.

j/c...

TMZ has learned that paramedics who first attended to Heath Ledger were interviewed by NYPD today and said the scene looked "normal" -- meaning it didn't appear as if illicit drug use had occurred.

As we reported earlier, the rolled $20 bill found at the scene tested clean for illegal narcotics, and the numerous pill bottles were nearly full.

The exact cause of Heath's death will be determined when the toxicology results come in -- sometime in the next two weeks.

TMZ has learned what types of pills were discovered in the apartment where Heath Ledger was found dead.

NYPD sources tell TMZ that nearly full pill bottles containing the anti-anxiety medications Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium) and Lorazepam (Ativan) were found in the apartment. The sleeping medication Zoplicone (Lunesta) and the sedative Temazepam (Restoril) -- which is used by people with "debilitating insomnia" -- were also found.

All of the drugs were prescribed to Ledger.

Anti-gay preacher launches Ledger tirade

Anti-gay religious leader Fred Phelps has launched a scathing attack on Heath Ledger, saying his death was "the best thing that ever happened" to his family.

Phelps, the 78-year-old pastor of the homosexual hate group from the US known as the Westboro Baptist Church also hit out against Australia, calling it "the land of sodom".

Phelps was referring to Ledger's Oscar-nominated role as a gay cowboy in the 2005 film Brokeback Mountain when he made his extraordinary comments in an interview with A Current Affair.

"Dying time is truth time," he said. "This is the best thing that ever happened to that family.

"The bottom line is that guy went out of his way to spend his time and make a little money, and glamorise and glorify that filthy, deadly sin of sodomy.

"And you're (the public) making the hero out of him!"

The right-wing pastor also had a verbal spray against Australia.

"We've been preaching to Australia for years now, and we've got a map of Australia and we've got (written) across the front of it, all the way from one end to the other: S-O-D-O-M'."

"Australia, the land of the sodomite-damned. Australia, which passes draconian laws to put Bible preachers in jail if they peach the proof about fags."

Phelps and his 70-odd followers are well known across the US for picketing the funerals of fallen American soldiers, gay rights parades and other public events.

The radical Kansas-based church plans to picket Ledger's memorial service which will be held in Los Angeles.

There goes a very sad man. Teaching hate in the name of God.

I feel so bad for Ledger's family, they lost him and then this group of serious nutjobs is gonna picket his funeral all because of a flipping MOVIE he did. They really need to get a life and leave other people alone.

This is almost as bad as that group of nutjobs that picket soldiers funerals. Totally senseless and very intrusive to the mourning family. (oops my bad, didn't see the last little blurb about this being the same group of misfits and hatemongers as the ones that prance around and make fools of themselves at fallen soldiers funerals.)

atomic~These are the SAME nutjobs that are picketing soldiers funerals. I wasn't surprised when I read this. But it's still a sad, sad state that this man won't get to rest in peace, quite yet.

I really wish someone would look into this guy, and see what they find. I think he is the worst kind of human. Profitting off of the deaths of others. One of these days someone is going to lose it and off the . I know I won't lose any sleep over that.

He's no different then Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, they get away with this. Why do they get away with this? Easy, because they'll pull the minority card at first chance to promote their causes, and normally care less about the actual victim. I find it sad when people resort to these tactics, but as long as we have people who will read these storeis and keep the interest level up, you'll have people show up like this when the media is involved.

I hate the Westboro clan. If I remember correctly, they picketed memorial services and funeral services for the students killed in the Virginia Tech shooting.

Seriously. College students get gunned down, and you say it's the work of God? Why can't someone in Kansas that down this fool and all his followers so we don't have to deal with them anymore? Make them happy -- send them "home."

I'm no big fan of Al and Jesse... I find them to be opportunists (and not in the good way), I think they only ever see one side of every issue, and I often think they miss the big picture in making their point... But what they do pales in comparison to the Westboro folks. Al and Jesse can certainly be annoying at times, but they don't spew nearly the hatred that the "good preacher" does.

Travolta gone a bit nutso over it:

web page

Travolta panned for 'self-centred' Ledger tribute

Hollywood veteran John Travolta's emotional tribute to dead colleague Heath Ledger has drawn the ire of many in the showbiz media who accuse him of being "creepy" and "embarrassing".

Despite never working with Ledger — or even appearing to have met him on more than one occasion — Travolta has spoken in length about the late Australian in several interviews.

"He was my favourite actor and my favourite talent," Travolta told Woman's Day.

"I am pretty devastated over this … it's killing me."

Despite claiming that he knew and "adored" Ledger, when pressed to detail their relationship Travolta could only name one chance meeting.

"His agent introduced me to him at a party, and I just fell … I used every accolade," Travolta said.

"Actors need other actors to be inspired by, and he was my actor."

Online celebrity writer Perez Hilton questioned Travolta's claims.

"Were John Travolta and Heath Ledger even friends?" he wrote.

"While most people who have worked with him have released brief statements, the Pulp Fiction star has gone on and on and on about the deceased Aussie actor. And they were never even in a movie together!"

Perhaps the most disturbing part of Travolta's reaction to Ledger's death was how the 53-year-old seemed to inevitably turn the focus of the conversation onto himself.

"I forget that anyone younger than me grew up with me," Travolta said.

"I was an idol of his.

"I would give back all my awards and all my nominations just to have him back."

Gossip site Celebrity Smack was repulsed by Travolta's remarks.

"How noble of you, John!" the site says.

"It really sheds light on what a pompous moron you are. All of your awards AND nominations?

"Wow, that’s really saying something by Hollywood's standards, but to the rest of us it sounds like you need to take your head out of your ass."

In one final baffling remark, Travolta even managed to send his condolences — to none other than himself.

"I am truly sorry and my heart goes out to everyone who knew him and loved him, and actually, my heart goes out to me," he said.

Meh....I know tons of people that are saddened by his death. And they never ever met him once. You can admire and idolize someone without ever meeting them. Heck, a few on this board worship Bernie and never met him. You keep on going John.....don't listen to them.

I think the weird part about it is that most people idolize "up"... you admire and idolize those who have something you don't have whether it's athletic ability or music ability or acting ability or fame or money or beauty or business sense or faith or whatever... The appearance is that Travolta, a household name and incredibly rich world famous actor with tons of good movies to his credit is idolizing a guy who most people don't even know... at least thats my take on why people think its sort of weird.

It's sort of like if Cleo Lemon had an accident and Tom Brady got all emotional over it...

This is going to turn out to be an overdose of anti-anxiety meds like xanax/klonopin and alcohol. A dangerous mixture. Gets you really messed up---but it can be fatal.............respiratory arrest.

Maybe Travolta just saw Brokeback Mountain one too many times?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

It sounds strange, but sources intimately connected with the Heath Ledger investigation tell TMZ it's possible the actor died of natural causes.

The reason they think that -- it's now appearing that the level of toxicity (from medication) in Ledger's system was low enough that it may not have caused his death. These sources say Heath's heart stopped. It could have been a heart attack but it's not certain, at least not yet. Although it's bizarre that a 28-year-old could die of natural causes, it happens.

We've also learned authorities do not believe the housekeeper heard Ledger snoring when she walked in his bedroom at around 1:00 PM. Sources tell us, a fireman observed rigor mortis in Ledger's jaw shortly after arriving on scene at around 3:30 PM. Sources say they now believe Ledger was dead for around three hours prior to their arrival, so they don't believe the masseuse could have heard snoring.

Authorities are also annoyed at news reports that there may have been a sinister plot to remove illegal drugs from Ledger's apartment before cops and firemen arrived. There are reports out there that the masseuse called Mary-Kate Olsen and a plot was hatched to have her bodyguard remove certain drugs. Authorities tell us that's impossible, because the cops were there the entire time the bodyguard was present and there would have been no opportunity to carry out such a plan. They say it's a made up story.

As we first reported, the masseuse contacted the bodyguard because she knew he was a licensed EMT.
