Those kids make me feel real old now!
A lot of the people posting in this thread are making me feel old, and I'm only 31!
I was gaming early, though, with the Apple ][e. Ultima 4 was a life changing experience for me.. it was so deep and intricate (at the time). We only had one floppy drive. I got real fast popping those 5.25" disks and swapping them for that game. That's a true classic in the RPG arena.

If you want to feel younger, I mentioned the game Bedlam for the TRS-80... it was a text adventure game. Floppy drives were fancy, new fangled things that were too expensive for the school at the time... we loaded the games from a normal cassette. The sound output connection would go to an input jack on the side of the computer... then you'd just pop a game in and press play until it told you to stop

LOL...........I am not going to read this thread, but I had to respond to it. I keep seeing it when I click on the Main Index. The title just cracks me up----"..........old school computer games."
Hard for an old fart like me to picture computers as "old school." *L*

I can see how it is funny I can tell some of these posters ages by what they are considering old school. Like the young guys are naming games that were out in the late 90's to early in this decade, where I'm looking at 80's to mid 90's as old school.

Hmmm some of the old games I use to play: Commadore 64 - Boulder Dash, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Oregon Trail (hated this compared to Apple Version), Head of the Class Apple II- Oregon Trail (loved going down the river avoiding rocks in your wagon), Number Crunchers, Word Crunchers Mac- Radical Castle (never did figure out how to beat this), Scarab of Ra, Might and Magic These were the computer games now if you get me started on video games like Atari I would have one heck of a list for you

I don't know those ones.
I also remember a lot of user created games that were pretty much garbage but funny. I remember some game named Hoover Boover. Or something like that. Some kid going around with a vacuum cleaner or something.

Speaking of Leisure Suit Larry, there's a new one coming out for the PS3. Saw the trailer for it on gametrailers.com.
The trailer started off like the trailer for Gears of War.
