I haven't donated yet either. I plan on it, but I don't think it matters if I donate now or if I donate in a week.

Just too lazy to get up and get the plastic.

I'm not too lazy to get the plastic. However, my wife and I decided last month no more plastic - for anything. Unless it is an emergency where someone is bleeding.

No plastic for gas. No plastic for eating out. Our card is paid off (that's a long story. But I'll shorten it up: the bank raised our rate to 30.99% because I was late with a payment 2 times in the last year. So I called them, explained that the first time I was late was because the bill came late - only giving me about 2 days to get the check in the mail. The second time I was late was simply my screw up. Plus, I told them, I had been with them for over 15 years, and I couldn't believe they would let me go - I told them if they couldn't bring the rate down to the 10.99% I had before - well, if they couldn't do that, then fine, we won't use the card anymore)

They didn't drop the rate. We don't use it anymore. I took the money out of savings, paid it off, and we're done with it, although I didn't cancel it. We have a $18.95 charge every month for a service we use - so we left it at that. Every month I will get a bill for that amount. That keeps the card active and in use.

I should've done it a long time ago.

You sir just made an 30% return on your money.. I doubt your savings were making you much sitting there, but your debt was costing you while it was sitting there..as for me.. I will donate when my funds are better.. I have a lot of things going on right now.

I wasn't calling those that don't have it to donate deadbeats, ftr. I just wondered for those that said they would -- well, if they really would.

Oh, I didn't take it "personally" at all. That's why I used the term about myself.

That didn't show up for me. Must be cause I'm not 18. I said to hid ads at first just to see what it was like, but since they don't really bother me, I put them back on.

I have to say, it's taking some getting used to not having any ads. I keep scrolling down assuming admanager is still there, which leads to me going over posts. I just hate myself for doing that.

But, having no ads is good, but not quite as good as knowing we're helping to keep this site up.

And it is greatly appreciated. Getting the new server up and going is going to be a massive sum of money for me, so every little bit that helps offset that is a minor life-saver for me.

Speaking of the new server: as long as the IRS does its thing on schedule, I will be able to begin ordering parts for it a week from tomorrow.

If you do the Cafepress stuff, I'll tell you that they ship QUICKLY! The hubs ordered some bumper stickers on Sunday and they arrived on Tuesday. And he didn't pay for overnighting or anything like that. (I'd have kicked his butt if he had)

I'm pretty satisfied with their quality. I ordered a diaper bag for Anna through Cafepress and I love it! Price was cheaper than the stuff at Target and I know that not many people will have the same bag...It's a baby girl with a steering wheel and crossed checkered flags!

Sent just a little your way for now.

Can't wait til this thing runs smoother. Wasn't sure if you were using any of the funds towards it, but now that I see you are, I probably should have gave more.

Every last penny of it is going toward the new hardware.

The new hardware is being budgeted at $2,200 - $2,300 for the machine itself, $150 for shipping it to its new datacenter and $199 for their initial setup fee to put it in their datacenter.
Then, it's approximately $125 / month in fees.

With numbers like those, there is no place else for the donations to go.

I'll have to catch the donation this payday, I had to spend my extra cash on the deductible for my co-pay for prescription medicines. Damn that stupid crap that makes my body function correctly.

I know what ya mean.

One of the things I hate about getting paid only once a month. Crap happens any day of the week/month. By the 20th of a month, I'm usually stapped for spending cash as far as "fun stuff" And those medications that I take aren't cheap.

Sounds like the mug of an alcoholic.

In the medical world, DTs is short for delerium tremens, or the withdrawal sypmtoms alcoholics go through which includes severe shaking and hallucinations.
