That reminds me of the Chapelle skit where he spoofed several famous trial where he was on the witness stand. "mr Chapelle do you think that Mr Jackson molested these little boys?" " I got one word for you man,Thriller"

For someone who claims to be so religious and a follower of the Lord .. U sure haven't exhibited in this thread ...

I have no clue how U can have that sig and say U love the lord and then act like U have in this thread ....

I know some god fearing people and they sure as hell do not JUDGE like u do .... or do u just follow the parts of the bible that are CONVENIANT for U ..

cause u sure as all hell are doing it here ..

a generational Icon has passed way ... Ali, Jordon and Jackson are the most recognizable figures of our time .. be it for good or bad or both

may he RIP ..
..

and for folks like Arch and the KING OF HYPOCRITES .... hes being judged by the only judge that counts ... and hopefully that judge has alot more forgiveness in his heart that some of our so called "religious" posters ...

go ... don't waste your time with Phil ... its all he is .. I mean this is a guy that thinks we had a knee jerk reaction to 9/11 and should have built shrines to the hijackers of those planes where the WTC and Pentagon building were destroyed .. cuase it was all our fault and we MADE THEM DO IT .. so we only got what we deserved ..

sad but true my friend ..

tell Eric I said hello .. U can tell the kids the guy they forgot said hi to .. *L* ... i hope things are well .... If I get up this year we'll have to get together ...

I have still not recovered from this news. MJJ was as big a part of my life as anything else. I fell in love with him and music when I was 7 years old and neither one has let up since. I feel like a part of my childhood has died along with him. I hope he is free of his demons and he may rest in peace. I will never believe that I won't get any more new music from him. I'm devastated.

I've always kind of believed that Michael Jackson never had a childhood...he was world famous at what, 7? He began the grind of show business in the most formative of years...not to mention his home life wasn't peachy...he continued on to be the most widely recognized musicians since the Beatles.

I don't know how much that factored into his sexual habits, but I think all of the young kids and the roller coasters and such was his chase to retrieve a non-existant childhood.

I agree and no doubt think he was clinging to a childhood...or as you say was trying to have that childhood.

To mydogbites...I don't know that he wasn't a pedophile....or if he ever in fact didn't do anything.....but none the less, there was a unhealthy relationship with kids.

I wasn't upset he was found not guilty, and don't intend to trash him in death....and didn't think I was

He had some major ups and downs in his life. I mean REALLY BIG hills and valleys.

I hope he is with God...and suspect he is....for all the fame and fortune, he had some pretty big burdens placed on his shoulders at a age you should be playing in a treehouse or out catching crawdads by some creek..

Don't worry about that......

Michael Jackson: secret library of 100 songs could be released

A secret library of over a hundred songs recorded by Michael Jackson could be released following his death.

One of the singer's biographers, Ian Halperin, claimed that the unheard songs had been made for his children.

Mr Halperin, author of Unmasked, The Michael Jackson Story, said before his death: “He wants to leave them for his kids, a very personal legacy to them. I was told he will not let them come out now.”

Jackson leaves three children: Prince, 12, Paris Katherine, 11, and Prince Michael II aged seven.

It is rumoured, given the parlous financial situation of his estate, that any such recordings will not be kept private for long. It is understood that Jackson may have gone to the grave under debts of about $400 million (£240 million) – though some believe the true figure may be much higher.

Sales of Michael Jackson’s music and memorabilia have already begun to soar. In America, the Thriller album is number one on iTunes, while his Number Ones album has now reached the top spot on the UK iTunes chart.

Online retailers Amazon say that Jackson’s albums had taken 14 of the top 20 places on the Amazon.co.uk sales chart. The Amazon chart was topped by his first solo album, Off The Wall, which features tracks such as "Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough" and "She’s Out Of My Life".

Already, Jackson’s death is beginning to producing a new industry. Outside the Los Angeles hospital where he was pronounced dead, a group of men appeared selling $10 T-shirts with a silhouette of Jackson and reading: “In loving memory of Michael Jackson.” Memorial T-shirts were also being sold at the Glastonbury music festival.

On eBay, bidding grew on a number of Jackson memorabilia items. Limited edition records, musical instruments used by the star and even a movie contract with his signature were being sold for thousands of pounds.

The Neverland ranch and Jackson’s final resting place, if made accessible to the public, could also become lucrative tourist attractions.

Graceland, the mansion owned by Elvis Presley and where he was buried, has become a much-visited landmark. Opening its doors to the paying members of the public is thought to have made the trust that operates Graceland in the region of $100 million.

WOW.

THANK YOU for posting this. You have made me smile a little bit.

Unfortunately, it's still not the same as him currently writing songs or 5 years from now writing songs. Even if these are released, that will probably still be it.

did he write songs??

I thought he was a performer?

Not to say that isn't important...Sinatra didn't write the stuff he sang. Doesn't mean he wasn't at the top of the game for decades.

He was as big as it gets.

I'm sure there will still be Michael Jackson albums coming out when its time for some of us to go years from now....

The man made about 40+ songs each album... and he chose which ones he wanted to put on there...

There will be plenty of Michael Jackson unreleased tracks to make CD's...

Then there will be those who do "duets" with michael jackson as well...

Not only did he write his own songs, but he was a co-writer with others and he wrote some songs for other singers as well. Very talented.

I find it hard to believe that you meant that when you said this:

Since the night he died I've kept my nose out of this.

Am I understanding your post correctly? Are you calling me out for what I posted days ago?

Make no mistake - I stand by what I posted. Then people got upset that I called a spade a spade, so I shut up and have said nothing in this thread since - thursday? And today is sat.

Are you calling me out?

You are right and looking back I realize that was a harsh initial reaction, I cant change the way I feel but I guess I could have said it in a better way. So for that I apologize.

I believe that he was guilty of molesting little boys. That is just my personal opinion that I came away with from the information that I have seen. So because of that I just really have trouble celebrating his life and the fact that he is now dead is not going to make me forget the disgusting crimes that IMO he committed.

Now if it was possible to take the child molestation thing awat completely I would probably be judst as devasted as many are. MJ was a icon that I grew up with. We Are The World and other huminatarian efforts on his part were just huge. Him and Bono are the two preeminent artists that come to mind who have taken their fame and fortune and tried to make a difference in the world with it. Kudos to him for that.

Now I did not like the whole freakshow thing with him but I dont think the largest part of that was to be blamed on him. That is a flame that the media fed so much.

So once again let me say that I hope MJ was able to get his life straight and get right with god over the past few years. I swear, I mean it

I find it a bit odd that michaels family wants a second autopsy done when the first one hasn't been finished - does anyone else?

Why would they demand a second autopsy when the first one hasn't even been concluded?

Oh, and Jesse Jackson is their spokesperson. Nuff said.

Presumably they know what the initial findings are, even if the general public doesn't.

Interesting, considering the coroner is saying basically he doesn't know the cause of death, and the toxicollagy (sp) results will take 4 to 6 weeks.

Sure, that's what's out in public.

But this is a high profile case. If he suspects drug overdose, he's not going to go out and say it until all the lab stuff comes back. But if it's pretty obvious, he could definitely allude to it, to a family looking for answers.

Sorry - I don't understand what you are saying.

An autopsy was done. It was inconclusive, pending further tests. Why would the family demand another autopsy when the first one is not concluded?

And further more, dead is dead. Does it really matter how he died? No. Unless the family is looking for an insurance settlement.

Trust me, this case will make that lady that od'ed - don't remember her name - the model that died in the bahamma's...............whatever - this one will go on for years.

Dead is dead. The only reason for the family to question a result that is not even a result at this point is for financial reasons.

Seriously, how can you demand a new autopsy when the first one isn't done?

As a musician, I spent the better part of my formative years studying the music and lives of the great masters of the past. No, I'm not talking about masters of just the last 50 years... I'm talking about the great masters of the last 500 years.

Along with studying the intricacies of their music, I was also pushed to learn about their lives in countless biographies. Over time, I learned to separate the accomplishments of the artist from the details of their lives as persons. Finding a way to make that separation was a blessing... because if I hadn't, my personal moral code (and concomitant biases) would have prevented me from experiencing a vast amount of great artistry in my life... and my life would have been diminished, as a result.

Many of those masters had kinks, quirks, and personal proclivities which simply ain't my cup of tea... but none of those details take a single thing away from the work they did or the impact they had upon the world with their output.

Some were promiscuosly gay. Some were philandering, unfaithful "ladies' men." Some were money-grubbing con artists. Some were gluttons, with bad manners and questionable personal hygiene. Some were into mysticism, the occult, and other "alternative" beliefs. All were flaming egomaniacs. One or two were even accused of the very same things that seem to have dominated this thread's content. ALL of those traits are ones which I find repulsive... but I've still been made better by experiencing the things which made them known in the first place- their music.

In each and every case, there is one unifying fact that makes them noteworthy to me: these people changed and advanced the art to which they applied their efforts... and Art makes all of us better.

Were they great artists? You bet they were.
Does it make them great Human Beings? No. It simply makes them the same fallible, flawed vessels "with feet of clay" that each and every one of us are.

For the time being, I'm content to spend a little time thinking about MJ the artist, without dragging all the other tawdry, non-musical stuff into the picture. For some reason, it just feels right to do this... because he, like all of us, was probably much much more than the headlines and superficial stories that we all know.

Each of us has layers upon layers of behaviors, traits, tendencies, and yes, demons to wrestle, as we make our way through the world. In truth, we only know of Michael Jackson the person, because of his choice to share his music with us. The rest is all afterthought, as far as I'm concerned.

For the time being, I choose to reminisce about his music, and what it meant to the world... for at least a few days. The lowbrow, tabloid-type stuff can wait for awhile, thank you very much.

I'll not speak ill of the dead in this forum, and I'll take a moment or two to reflect upon the joy and inspiration others gained from his artistry.

There will be time enough for me to dwell on the ugliness that was also a part of his life, if I so desire... providing I live past today.

(Which reminds me- I really should get to work on my own issues before I spend time worrying about someone else's.)

Time is short- for all of us. If nothing else, Michael's mere 50 years on the planet should be ample evidence of that.

Godspeed, Michael. I'll miss your contributions.

What do you all think about Joseph Jackson?

I mean the guy wanted to live the American Dream so bad... He was willing to work his children like slaves... non-stop... push-push-push....

Well now... Your son is gone... The one that ultimately got you to California... The one that got you out of the steel-mills...

I mean they didn't even call him "father"... or "daddy", "pops".. "dad"... He got Joseph... what is that about??!!

I'm still upset that the King past away...

Pops... Tell MJ I said wsup... You know how much I loved his music...

RIP...

The BET Award show was pretty good...

Jamie Foxx represented well.. Al Sharpton and Joseph Jackson was there together... and then at the very end Janet Jackson spoke for a minute to say thank you for all the support... I thought she was going to fall out... That brother/sister relationship is always a close one....

RIP MJ..

This thread, this forum, and this board exists for the expression of ALL views, whether you like them or not.

As you and others have asked for those with a negative opinion to cease, I will politely ask that those folks please stop discouraging dissenting views.

And Go has every right to express her opinions that this might not be the thread to go on and on about your negative feelings about this person. There are people I found quite awful that I've wished to R.I.P. on this board. In my view, it's just bad form.

I respect other people's right not to feel that way, but I still see no need to drone on and on about it upon the death when other people are obviously mourning the person.

And Clem, I never knew you found gay people repulsive. Thanks for that insight!
