to put it differently...would you accept Veikune, Maiava, Trusnik and Stuckey for BE? I wouldn't

I would trade Braylon for Stuckey straight up, actually.

Oh well, if that's the consensus among fans than we really don't deserve better, if you're really happy to trade a top 5 pick talent for a late 7th, so be it...that's what I was saying to Raider fans over those years

just ask yourself 1 question: why were the Jets desperately looking for WR help with Cotchery and 1st round TE Keller on their roster if Stuckey was that good? They wanted Crabtree...now he has signed and they traded for BE...coincidence? No, they were looking for WR upgrade...and got it because BE >>> Stuckey

Welcome to outsmart land....

Braylon does have more talent than Stuckey.

Braylon is a head case. Braylon cannot catch a ball. Braylon lacks basic fundamental WR'er skills. Stuckey can catch, run a route and do it well, Braylon either would not or cannot do it here.

Either way, yes, I would have Stuckey over Braylon on this team no matter overall unseen talent that Braylon has and will never achieve. That is why the Jets traded for Braylon, to hope they can get him to achieve his huge talent, but that was not going to happen in Cleveland.

Thats like saying I wouldn't trade Brady Quinn to the New england patriots for Tom Brady because he was a 6th round draft pick in your eyes would you pull that trade in a heartbeat you would......

we DONT know what stuckeys potential... but we have seen Edwards lack of potential....

Where can we expect Stuckey to land on our WR depth chart.

Wouldn't he be best in the slot? And where does that leave furrey?

Or would Stuckey come in as a number 2?

To correct you, Stuckey is not a back up. He is the Jets #2. I remember him when we played the Jets in the preseason. He is a solid route runner. That is better than a stone hands primadonna any way you slice it. Would you not take SOLID over POTENTIAL when you are trying to build a foundation?

So where would it this "Currently potent" offense be if we could theoretically start like 3 or 4 Brayin' Edwards? Can it get any LESS productive than no catches? And then add in the flags, the holding, the headaches, and the black eyes? And he is currently producing WHAT? Spare me. We are not yet the Berea Big Bust Bar, Grill, and Warehouse for the BE class of players.

he won't be playing right away anyways he has to learn the playbook..... it may be a few weeks but I would bet by week 7 or 8 it would be MASS, Stuckey and Furrey

Yes, I would

Veikune, Maiava both will be good players, As much as I am critical of Mangini,He is making progress. After he realized he made a mistake with Quinn he fixed it, and now he got good value for a malcontent player..this was a very good trade

As for his draft, It is WAY TOO EARLY to call ANY of those players busts or no good, As a matter of fact, Veikune and Maiava will both provide quality depth for us, and may spot start from time to time...they wil both contribute

Those two were drafted because we have NO DEPTH...what did you expect?

They may turn into full time starters, maybe not, but I still say the Robiskie pick will pay off...he will prove folks wrong when he gets a chance

a receiving core of Stucki, MoMass, Robo, and Furrey is alot better then having Edwards....

I really don't see Mangini's draft as being that bad, sure he could have done better, but he could have done worse as well....its way to early, but he drafted those WR because Edwards was gone period

As for Mack, he was the ebst Center coming out, OL was a need, in particular Center...it was good value where he took him

Even though I would have liked to take Sanchez, I can understand the trade down and taking Mack......

If Mangini keeps this up, I may end up liking the guy...this was a good move by Mangini...the guy may know what he is doing afterall...I am going to let up on Mangini for awhile...give the guy a shot...

Tell us who we should have got that would have satisfied you.
We weren't getting a # 1 for him ..not for getting a starter back from them.
We needed a WR coming back in the deal..

Reportedly we were offered a 2nd + late rounder + Hixon or Manningham...how would that deal look now? I wanted a 1st for BE or to keep him...why? because we would get a late 3rd or 4th as compensation pick ANYWAY should he leave

but...if you're Mangini and you've identified him as not being a player you want and trying to trade him ANYWAY this offseason, why not take the best offer? We gambled and lost since this is nothing short of a panic dump-sell

It's not his worst move/non-move...but still a bad one...and it's a pretty big list already in my book

I keep hearing and reading apologies...give me 1 move he has done a good job instead of attacking me for criticizing this bum....just 1 move, I'm waiting...

doesn't Maiava have two forced fumbles this season? yea on special teams, but that means he has talent and is learning. stucky is solid. Mangini said in his press conference that Veikune has been doing well but he doesnt think he is game speed ready just yet. he will be though.

Why not just ask why would any team lacking a # 1 trade for one?
Huh...
Get real..who in the world even implied that Stuckey has the talent that BE had?
Gini had to do it..U and anyone else might not be satisfied with the compensation but get this I said before K2 was shipped that both would be gone..it just didn't happen at the same time..
I'll wait to see how KoMan capitalizes on the picks in the offseason.

Yes, T-dawg, I think MoMass made some great plays. I don't think Brayin' Edwards gets too much credit.
I give credit to a hungry young kid who showed some heart, made some NFL circus catches, and helped his team get into OT. He didn't win it. But neither did the great PBer do SQUAT to help us. Whatever we get can only be a step up. As I said elsewhere, even a little poison in your waterhole is a bunch. Take NOTHING away from MoMass! He earned it, he sparkled, he produced. He-WhO-Is-Gone has not and did not.

Its not a trade for a late 7th? There is more to it than just that. Also, no one wants to trade top 5 talent. But what has the player done with his top 5 talent? He has wasted it, and who wants wasted talent on the roster? So they traded their wasted talent for the best offer they could get. The Jets make the trade because they think they can get more out of the talent. The Browns trade because they know he will never perform up to that status.

Of course the Browns don't think Stuckey is better than Braylon. But a combination of draft picks and players that include Stuckey could be more productive for them. I sure don't think the Browns think Stuckey is a #1 replacement. Just a replacement piece.

There was no way in hell we'd get a first for him ... so your alternative is to keep him on the team and get a 3RD or 4TH as compensation???

So we got a receiver that will actually produce for the rest of the year plus a 2nd/3rd and a 5th pick ... but you would of rather kept a malcontent receiver, who's pouting and putting up no production and taken a 4th round pick instead.

And you call Mangini the idiot??

Oh my LORD, if you have high blood pressure, do NOT tune in to Colin Cowherd for his take on this situation right now.

Summary:

Malcontents like Braylon and Moss have every right to slack off with poor teams like Cleveland & Oakland.

Quinn & Anderson suck so NO WONDER he's been dropping balls.

I really wish some of you go to a logic 101 class....if it's too early to tell one way? get it? Of course it's opinion at this time but I'm 100% sure that neither Maiava nor Veikune will EVER be a "good" starter in this league....I don't even think they will sniff at being aveage starters...and even doubt they will EVER become starters....if they do: well, Chaun Thomson, Taylor, Bentley once started at LB for us....they were ouzt of football or happy to make a roster pretty quickly after

that means....just like with Wimbley....getting to start doesn't make em good or even average startes in this league

You have the wrong KNR station on. Put on The Really Big Show.

Sabrina just gave some very juicy details about the Braylon incident...in fact she may have put him in a bad mood before it.

I'm a little torn on this trade. I hated the Edwards pick. As far as I'm concerned he was a huge black eye to the previous regime. That said he was still our biggest threat. All of you that are saying Stuckey is just as good as Braylon are not using your head. Talent wise it isn't even close. That's why there was another player and 2 picks thrown in to even it out.

Bottom line he was leaving anyway after the season, was a malcontent with bad hands and a me first additude so he had to go. I just hope this was the best we could get for him.

I just hope this move doesn't keep Cribbs in the starting lineup at WR. Long term this is probably a good move. For the near future trying to win now. Not so much.

Veikune, Maiava can't remember which, but one of them has two forced fumbles on special teams

Terunsnik is AFC Special teams player of the week for week 3...forced fumble to help Jets beat Tians

I am sorry Django, but I can't agree with your draft assessment or this trade

its too early...those guys are not playing or starting yet because they don't know the system..they are rookies...give it time...

You guys are nuts or uninformed. The ONE knock on Stuckey, I'm sorry to say, is that he DROPS EASY PASSES. He IS a big-play guy, and that's good, but now we don't have any guy on the team where you can just say "go get it." That catch against the Vikings BE made after being pushed OOB, we don't have anyone who can do that.

If we got a late 2nd, Stuckey, a 5th, and a pile of special teams goo... we got jobbed. What was Roy Williams doing before the Cowboys gave up a 1st and a 3rd for him? When's the last time he went to the Pro Bowl?

I can take the heat...after all it's only football debate...but I always wonder what urges people to go this route instead of adding something of substance to the argument

oh, and no Oher this time have a better one: I wanted to trade BE after his ProBowl year....straight up for Boldin who was unhappy in ARI...I took some of the same ... I'm getting here right now...1or 2 years after that, everyone wanted BE traded, lol....he still was among the league leaders in drops that year and had one of the worst looks-to-catch ratios among starting WRs....that was my argument....arguments? on here?

Well, bigf00t, if you can be critical without a one in the deal, go to it. He has loafed and hurt us. Slack routes, MAYBE help cover, but he hasn't required the kind of cover you would see on Ward or TO because he hasn't really hurt any defense for a few years. I had hopes, I admit potential, but I refuse to look into my crystal ball and say getting this poison out of our system cripples everybody. Too easy; say it is so and it is true.
May make coverage tougher, but tough is not impossible. If I saw MoMass light it up, if Robiskie has some luck (what can he do? Mess up routes? Hold? Drop balls a bunch? Done that, huh?) Give 'em a shake. The youth movement at least has upside. Right or wrong, I back Mangini.

Evidently Mangini has not burned bridges with the Jets or they would not have anything to do with him. The stories of him being a Ricardo Cabeza may be exaggerated.

Also gotta wonder if the FO tried to negotiate a deal with BE and failed. In that case, get what you can.

JMO, but NYC is where BE wanted to be all along since there is no LA team. Methinks he wants to be a movie star

Braylon, we could have finished last without you.

at this point braylon HAS to go as he refuses to buy in. his value would have had a very good chance of going even lower as more facts come out about his assault incident, and a suspension would really hurt him. i agree that it's possible another team could have made a better offer for him before the end of the week, but braylon had to go, and quickly.

also those draft picks you hate are already looking a lot better, while sanchez stumbles.

Take the heat uh..if there's anyone that debate you about draft picks, you're talking to him..I've called them every year and I hardly have been satisfied with any draft.
But in some cases I like to actually see the players in action to see what they have..
You weren't the first nor the only one talking about trading BE for Boldin..but there were some vague things about that type of deal..
I when I heard the Gmen were interested was wanting Philly to get in the mix..when it didn't happen it told me several things..the deal(s) weren't right for the Browns..
But dude you sound like a broken record everytime you harp on this team about EVERYTHING...
Dang I complain also but at some point I give it a rest..
Waiting it out still doesn't guarantee anything because we don't know whats happening with the CBA..so U say "Well we'd get a 3rd/4th..well now we get two players plus draft picks..

I don't remember this with Stucky....he had a nice rapport with Favre last year and I searched around and only found positive things about his hands this year....example:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/fantasy/09/22/waiver.wire/index.html

also, I love Cotchery's grittiness....but Stucky definitely was the Jet WR with the most upside.....it's just a shame that we couldn't find another team to step up to teh plate.

this trade feels rash....it feels like the last Braylon incident was just a step too far and Mangini told Kokinis to take the best deal they had on the table. I don't like impulse trades and this one feels just like that.

also, we had #17 by the um...marbles. no CBA means he's a restricted FA this offseason. which means, that we could just let him sign with another team and then either force him to stay or work a sign-n-trade with that team (probably do it before he signs as he obviously wanted out badly).

so, I think Mangini should have brought him into his office and told him he was stuck with this team for the season....that if he wanted to get paid in the offseason he would do what he said and that in return Mangini would help make sure he was a focal point of the offense to get him those stats (as that would mean the offense was doing well anyway).

maybe he did all that and #17 was just bringing the team down, causing problems, not working hard, et cetera.....we don't know. but, like I said, the timing of the deal makes it feel like a rash decision.

Quote of the week I'd take Sanchez over our entire FA AND draft class...why? you can find those 20 guys on FA lists or waiver everyhwere but a QB like Sanchez?

btw, you butchered my argmuent...I know I should not have even tried...but it was basically: when he idnetified him BEFORE he got here and coached him as being a player to kick (hence the trade rumblings) he SHOULD have traded him THEN....no matter what I or anybody wanted...he can't and is not willing to coach guys like this, he knew it...he's a robot coach who wants robot players....when he's gone we will not only have little talent because of his evaluation skills but also a leader-less team of a bunch of yessayers...great

that's what should ... off the most loyal Mangini fan: he isn't even consequent in his Napoleon style:

- he says whoever I pick is my QB....changed QB after 3 games

- looks at tape, talks to RAC: BE is a clown.....he keeps him

- preaches TEAM, yeat doesn't trust his team in any form to win a game instead hoping for the opponent to not win it

He's really like a bad poker player who tries to bluff but stop midway and loses a lot erverytime...

btw, I'm still waiting for the 1 GOOD move....
