Well...Javid Best was going to be my pick.
Sorry...had to put my dad in the hospital today.
When I left the house I was still waiting on Houston to pick...thought I would be back in my 12 hours

Since Clutch wanted Jones, I think we can switch picks here. Sorry to hear about your dad, Hack. Him and your family are in my thoughts.

Thanks guys.....My dad has Parkinsons/Dementia....he is only 57...but is currently on the SR. Mental ward for observation......He is the youngest guy there by 20 years easily.
We knew he was going down hill...but the speed with which its taking him has been swift.
Just want to say I was sorry for making you guys wait all day for my pick...needless to say...it just wasnt much on my mind today.
That being said...like you guys...I was looking at who was still left with Houston on the clock...and could not believe Best was still there.....and I did not see them taking him.....but I can say this...even if they did...I was not taking Jones next...so thank you all for switching it around...as it probably worked out best for all involved since he wanted Jones anyway.
As for the Steelers taking him...Best is actually my dark horse for pick 18 for Pitt....they sent their entire scouting dept. to watch him during the season....and there was several articles about how much they liked him.....Willie Parker is gone...and its said they would like to find a speed back to go with Mendenhall
I still have some hospital time in my future...but will forward on a list if it looks like my pick might arrive before I can be around again.

i hope that the steelers take best over mccluster. i just think dexter is more of the all-purpose weapon that would work well to complement mendenhall

I should have thought of Best for you guys, but for whatever reason, he slipped my mind.

Honestly...I think McCluster is already on the roster....Stephan Logan should have gotten a lot more looks last year...as a multi purpose threat....but Arians does not really call pass plays past 3 WR's and 1 TE.
McCluster might be a better player in the long run..but I really think Logan can be a similar threat

Sorry to hear about your dad man! Hope everything works out for the better for all of you.
As for the pick, I figured Best would be your pick but in case he wasn't like someone said I was kinda thrwoing a smokescreen hoping to use him to trade down and still try and land Jones. I didn't even fathom the Steelers picking Jones but once they did I was forced to pick Best.
Everything worked out pretty good though since we both got the player we covet.
I like Jones as a Patriot because to me he is a Rodney Harrison/Brian Dawkins clone. Something the Patriots sorely lacked the last couple of years.
Jones is a violent hitter that can come up in the box for run support and also make receivers think twice about going over the middle.
I liked Chung last year and I envision him and Jones being a great safety tandem for years to come with Chung having the ability to move to FS while Jones holds down the SS spot. The Pats also have Merriweather as well but the Pats frequently use 3 safetys with one in the box.

The Cardinals have had their eye on this guy since the start of the second round. Many scouts had him maybe getting into the first round so we feel like we got a steal here.

With the #59 pick, the Dallas Cowboys select: Alex Carrington, DE/DT Arkansas State. Dallas needs to get more youth on the DL and an upgrade opposite of Marcus Spears. Getting Carrington is a great value at this point in the draft. He should be a natural 3-4 DE. Also, he is not from his beloved Razorbacks, but Jerry loves tabbing local schools for the Cowboys. Carrington is one of my favorite players in this area of the draft and someone I hope the Browns target if they trade up to get into the bottom of the 2nd round (or someone who might slip to their first 3rd round pick). Possibly. I think Dexter is much better, but I understand only wanting one such type of RB on a roster.

He might be better...he has not taken a snap yet....but he surely looks the part.
I watched Logan at Camp...and in the preseason...and had high hopes for him on screen passes, and reverses....as well as a return man......he set Steeler records as a return man this year...but Arians only ran 1 or two plays for him on offense all year.
Although I would still take him with open arms...I think the Steelers have a similar player if they would just give him the ball 3 or 4 times a game.

At this rate we might even be able to add a 4th round.
Or start a new draft and switch up teams.

Im all for taking this one the distance if others are up for it.....if we start a new one...Ill take the Steelers...LOL as this time has been more about who is still available...vs who I have targeted.
I really don't think Best will be available in the 2nd round....but no way I could not take him.
I would not be upset if the Steelers took Pouncey and Best 1..2... But they need to get some defensive help.

WOW ...I am not in the mock...but it suprises me that Colt McCoy still isn't taken to this point. Granted I see the circumstnaces...Bills went with Clausen...Browns move back into first for an OL...and the Redskins go with Tebow...but still...it's suprising...
I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...

its possible that Colt will slide to the Browns in the 3rd......I dont think something like that happening on draft day is too far out of the box....the kid has skills but seems to me a tad bit of a wussy...heard he could of came back in that bowl game but decided himself he didnt want to
if we did happen to get McCoy in the 3rd I would be more than happy as thats not giving up much to get a guy who you could groom and let him watch from Delhomme and Wallace until he is ready to take the controls

I vote for taking this one as long as possible as well. I would even be up for 7 rounds. But alot of people probably don't know alot after the 4th and I can't blame em. I think I would do good until about the end of the 5th and then it would get kinda iffy.

I say lets do a 4th round also, and maybe start another draft at the end of that round with new teams. Of course being a Seahawks season ticket holder, I'd be more than happy to take them in a new one. And kudos to Browns26 for a nice Hawks draft thus far. I'd suspect that right about now, Carroll would be drooling over the thought of Ricky Sapp if our draft were reality...though LaFell, Dwyer, Hardesty, Misi, Jerry, and Damian Williams are all still available too...

I'm in for 7 rounds. Didn't realize the Falcons weren't picking in the 2nd til after I chose 'em. . .

I don't think the Ravens pick again until the 5th round, so I'll let you guys decide whether to continue or not.

Continue this draft!
And Start another one!
And Give me the Patriots, theyve picke 5 times already I'm looking for a 2nd pick
Or the Browns Somebody who has more than 1 pick in the first 73..
I soo would have traded back into this round already, but the Jaguars have few picks and no talent on their roster, there is little for me to work with. No worries, I'm prepared to take the Best player coming up at pick 74 in the 3rd.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
