C'mon, get with it. These people are professionals. I think they can separate their sexual activity from their daily jobs, just like most of us do on a daily basis when we work with members of the opposite sex. It's not like the guy is walking around in the locker room grabbing everyone and leering suggestively in the showers. He's doing his job.
If someone like Hardaway (love that name in this context) is "uncomfortable", changing in front of grown naked men, perhaps he's the one who shouldn't have been a basketball player.
The day we start to seperate one 'kind' of people from another 'kind', based strictly on the way we think these *other* people are thinking about us, we have more problems to worry about than the minute possibility of unwanted sexual thoughts.
Comparing professional athletes to doctors in terms of maturity and professionalism is laughable. Athletes aren't exactly known for their mental abilities and maturity.
How often do people develop workplace crushes? I believe I read it was around 26%. You know as well as I do the workplace isn't always as professional as it's made out to be.
Would you be comfortable with a co-ed locker room? Fact is gay men are turned on by male bodyparts just like straight men are turned on by female bodyparts.
I'm not taking Hardaway's side at all, cuz I think him saying "I hate gays" is despicable. BUT I can definitely see this point, that the locker room is a potentially uncomfortable place in that situation. Add in the fact that athletes aren't the most enlightened beings in the world, and you have a recipe for homophobia. I consider myself pretty enlightened and I have to admit that would make me feel uncomfortable, but not hateful like Hardaway.

Ill leave the thread alone. I don't hate people that are gay. I pray for those, that I know and hope that God has mercy on them for their sins, as well as my own sins which are plenty.
I think it's outrageous to lump someone who is racist, with someone who feels homosexual behavior is not normal behavior, in the relation to ones religious beliefs. I also feel strongly in seperation of church and state, and that those that choose to practice in homosexual behavior, should be freely permitted to do as they please.
The only relation of the two, is when individuals are harmed or opportunity is diminished because of ones race, or sexual preference, than those responsible should be held accountable for breaking the law.
Acceptance and approval are two separate trains of thought, and acceptance is required by the laws, and the need for civility. Approval is left to my own discretion, which I have, probably unwisely, shared with those I share the board with. Nothing more or nothing less.

I think its great how the media is persecuting this guy for his beliefs. I mean, isn't this supposed to be a free country. Shouldn't you be able to stick to your own dunbass opinion without being torched by some media frenzy. "Oh, my god, did you here what Hardaway said?" Who cares, if he feels that way, he's entitled to it. I'm not saying I hate all gay people, all black people, all white people. But I definitely hate some of them. But this whole thing is irrelevant.
