Question Time:
1. Do you believe a current NFL team can make it through the playoffs and lift the Lombardi without a "Franchise QB"? In other words, do you think there is a possibility of another "Dilfer anomoly" happening? (ps. if saragusa's 400 pound butt didn't sit on Gannon and cheap shot him out of the game the rats never would have won against the Raiders IMO).
Please look at all the playoff teams over the past few years, and look at the games before you say no. The NFL has changed. The rule changes have changed the game.
2. What would you be willing to give up to get a "FDanchise QB"? Holmgren admitted that Bradford could be had, but it was really expensive.
3. If you think Luck can even lift Bradford's jock, then tell me specifcally why. Please. I've watched Luck for the past 3 weeks. I'd rather not be specific yet, but if you can give me specifics, I'd like to hear them.
When I suggested that I thought we had to sell the farm to get Bradford I took a lot of heat. I watched him yesterday. The whole package. Even his arm looked stronger than we thought (he was throwing in a dome however). Sanchez isn't even on the same planet as he is at this time -- He does everything better.
Of course, if you think we can make it through the playoffs by pounding the ball then none of this matters. Steelers were mediocre, we let Ben slip through our hands, (I and others pimped him, took some heat), now we have to put up with them for another 7 years.
Listen, you guys were right. It didn't matter if we had a top quarterback if we didn't have the O line to protect him. This line is beginning to look pretty good.
So, where do we go from here? Can we win without a Brees, Manning, Warner, Rogers, Favre, Rothlisberger, Brady, (I want to add Bradford to this list just to tick a few off), etc.... If you think we can please explain and be specific.
If your banking on Luck it could run out.
