perfect night to sit on the coach and drink some beers.

although both of my main hockey teams are playing tonight so i'd be at the rink if i wasn't going to the game. can't win.

you're looking at this all wrong. it sounds like you can't lose with those options.

i guess if you look at it like that. it's fun any way you put it.

i try and not take hockey for granted because i know one day i will be too old to play the game, but sometimes i feel like i'm gettin run in the ground.

You know, they actually look really good. It's nice to see an offense that actually works as a unit instead of watching Lebron play around with the ball. I never thought it was possible but Andy keeps getting better and better.

Too bad the supporting cast completely let Lebron down like they did. We might have been in this game if only we had a superstar like Lebron ......

I mean ... look at how Miami took this team apart yesterday .... and compare that to how we have struggled so mightily .......

Cavs by 6 with 17 seconds left.

We should also remember that Mo Williams sat this game out as well.

And Shaq!!

Great win for the team and the fans. Does this mean we'll be a top team in the East??? No, but it's still nice. Now all we need to do is beat the snot out of Miami when they come here.

Wow, what a fun game to watch. My hat goes off to not only the team for playing a complete game but also to Byron Scott to get his players motivated and in tip top shape. I know it's just the first game but this was against a seasoned celtics team. Our next few games are against some easy teams so hopefully we can build some chemistry and continue this sort of effort.

Wasn't able to watch the game, but looking at highlights/box score I can't believe it. I really would have liked to see Sessions play. How'd the D look?

To tell the truth,, after seeing what The Celtics did to Miami the other night,, I didn't even think of watching the Cavs game tonight.. I gave them zero chance at a win..

Talk about shocked....wow

Sessions was not too bad. He played a little too fast early on, but adjusted. Hickson and Boobie really stood out. Hickson has added a 15 footer to his arsenal. Boobie had 8 assists and only 2 TOs; he handled the ball very well.

The D wasn't too bad. Andy was his usual pesky self, and Hollins took at least one charge, and forced a couple of over the back fouls by having superior position for rebounds; he also worked the offensive glass nicely with a few tip in and a few tap outs back to the guards.

I thought they did a nice job of keeping Rondo out of the paint; he shot more jumpers than I think Doc Rivers would like.

I can see though where they might have trouble defending the paint against a good, skilled center, as Big Baby was able to work them down low at times.

All in all, whoever that Yahoo writer (or SI, can't remember) was that picked them to win 13 games is absolutely nuts. They're not gonna win a title, but they will compete for a low seed in the playoff hunt.

Agreed. My buddy and I were talking about this last night before the game. Personally, I feel like I'm a much bigger fan of the Cavs now than ever before; like I know it's going to be a struggle and nothing will be as easy as in the past few years - but this is my team. I have the feeling that every win is a big "f you" to ESPN and LeDouche.

Granted, I was working last year and in years past - but I know that I've never watched the pre and post game on FSN and watched as much of the game as I did last night. I know it's hokey - but that old song "This is Cleveland, this our town, this is our team" is really fitting to me this year.

The "feel good" of last night won't last till June, the times ahead will get tougher - but I'm all in.

great for the cavs, saw some highlights and watched the first quarter when i got home last night. will probably watch the rest today.

but let's see how they respond once the emotion dies down. i think they really treated last night like a football game in the sense of it being 1 of 16 and not like the nba which is one of 82.

jj looked awesome. jumper looks improved.

i don't like how much we got beat up down low. a ton of easy baskets. we need another big man.

i really think byron scott is gonna take a mangini type attitude. and it's just what the organization thinks. he's gonna create a no-nonsense atmosphere, and any incoming player that might be considered high profile will learn right away that they won't have it like others in the past have had.

i like the guy a lot and i hope he can be patient because i can really see this thing turning around if they can get that one guy and maybe get another support guy or two.

I thought it was funny ... yesterday morning, ESPN had a poll that asked, "What would shock you more: Cliff Lee getting shelled or the Cavs beating the Celtics" ... well, good fight ESPN.

I was more shocked that Cliff Lee got shelled than that the Cavs won.

It must be mentioned that the Celtics are an older team that was away on a back to back and the Cavs had a lot of emotion going. It was a great win though, and they deserve it. They're good enough to make the playoffs if they continue to play team basketball and hustle.

I just want to go back to before the game ....

Imagine I would have told you that Mo Williams would not play ....... that Antawn Jamison would have 4 points ..... and that Anthony Parker would have the 2nd most assists in the game.

What would you have thought the outcome of the game would be?

I was impressed because everyone contributed. Hollins and Varegao were solid in the middle. Gibson and Sessions were solid at the point. Hickson played a really nice game. Parker was solid and did a nice job passing the ball. Moon wasn't "he whose name shall not be spoken", but he played a nice game. It was a solid team effort. That was nice to see, after way too many games of "let's stand around and watch 1 guy" like we played way too much last year. This system should keep guys awake and ready to go at all times.

This team doesn't have the most talent in the league, but it's not the dregs that some make it out to be either. I think that they can make it to the last playoff spot if they play together.

If they manage to find a solid star to trade for using their exeption ...... well, then the story might end with an even happier ending. Who knows?

i really wanna see how they stack up agains tteams like atlanta, milwaukee, and chicago. those are the middle seed teams i think for this year.

atl 4, chi 5, mil 6

7-8 i think the cavs fight for it with the bricks, charlotte, maybe the nets

i mean the east got better, but it's still the east.

Would love Carmelo here for one season. What would it take to get him though, of course the 15 million trade exception, 2 1st round picks, and 2 players, who would they take? The absolute only way I would trade for Carmelo is if he signed an extension! Would be a nice run I think.

jj, the exception and 2 draft picks.

i wouldn't do it. not unless there was an extension involved and we all know that ain't happening. not a smart move for the better of the team, as fun as it would be.

plus i don't wanna see another star player walk away from a cleveland team even if we all know it would happen.
