also.
thank God for all the sports leagues having networks.
i can watch nba tv for highlights of the nba and not just the heat and lakers highlights while you get a whole 5 seconds-1 highlight from a blazers/jazz game.
mlb network is also down the same path. you can see everyone's highlights and not just all things red sox and yankees. if they aren't playing each other at the moment, it's build up for when they do.
and the nhl channel, which is by far the best of any league network. you get a 3 or 4 minute package of highlights on every single game (plus you get games during the week live and hockey night in canada on saturday)
because bspn treats hockey like a novelty. even though the league is probably the most fun of the 4 major. but since there are no off the ice stories like there are in the other 3, it's not appealing to bspn. who wants to be more like cnn and less like the old days of actual sports on the field being played by the athlete.
I'm with you, I cant even watch BSPN anymore. ESPNnews is even starting to go down that track, though I can't help it, I like Wilboun so I still watch PTI. I generally go to the league's sites for highlights, and read yahoo sports for articles.
I really wish a network would make a competing channel, sorry but Fox Sports Net sucked.
"The medium for the bad news was ESPN, which figured. The network represents much of what is loud, obnoxious and empty in sports today."

At least SportsCenter now has the ticker down the left side, which PTI started I think (only theres was on the right)... now I can see that the next 8 stories are going to be about "Kobe, ARod, Duke, LeBron, Kobe, the Red Sox, LeBron, Duke"

Not yet, not until somebody asks him how he is enjoying his retirement and he pauses just a second too long before answering and ESPN takes that as a sign that there is a chance that he may come back.

Even with you just typing that, ESPN just broke in with "...and we go to Rachel Nichols on Brett Farve's front lawn for an update."
I watch PTI, College Gameday, and any game they're broadcasting I'm interested in. Outside of that, I don't have ESPN on, ever. I don't watch Sportscenter, ESPNEWS, or anything else. No reason.
I have a DVR to tape all the games I'm interested in, I can come here to talk about current sports-related issues with a computer or my phone, and every sport has their own channel/website for detailed stats or highlights. I don't need ESPN or Sportscenter anymore.

ESPNews is usually the "last channel selected" button on my remote in the evening so as I watch other shows, during commercials I can skip over there and see 2 minutes of what's going on.. the best feature they have is the little red button on my remote that pulls up scores so I can check them and then go back to my regularly scheduled programming.. beats leaving the lap top running on the couch just to check scores.

Will this Duke love NEVER END? It is SOOOOO frustrating... AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH... I can't believe they are showing Duke against an overrated UNC team tonight and the Maryland game is NOT ON!!!!! What could be more compelling television than Maryland against Longwood College?

We might not win another game all season.
Pathetic. This team on paper looks good enough to not be this bad. is it Byron's fault? I wasn't a big fan of the hire in the first place, and this season makes me question it even more. You can make excuses about injuries and such, but the defense has been absolutely atrocious this season. The coach has to take some blame for that.

The lack of defense is on Byron Scott. His style doesn't place the emphasis on defense that we became accustomed to seeing. I'm not going to fault him much for the all-around lack of effort, though. He can't force his players to have heart or pride, and right now they're playing with neither.

Nothing would make me happier. Its been pretty well proven in the NBA that there are 2 ways to win. Either have a former franchise player work in another team's front office and serve you up an elite player on a silver platter, or be really bad for a few years and acquire several top draft picks and have them pan out.
Steve Kerr didn't throw us Steve Nash for free when we still had LeBron so we have to build through the draft. Painful, but better than being stuck at the 8 seed for eternity.
Think Oklahoma City Thunder. I think they'll be competing for titles soon. That's how I hope we end up in a few years, we just have to draft the right pieces.

I wonder what Vegas is saying about this,...this would be worth a blown $100.

I might actually watch the next 2 games. Tonight to see Blake Griffin and the biggest game of the year on Sunday versus the Wizards who are 0-25 on the road.

Hopefully not until after he is traded.

So I learned today that Jason Kidd is #3 on the all time list for 3 point shooting.
Just an unbelievable career.

Go Cavs.
I know they have Blake Griffin and all, but hey it's still the Clippers, right? In the middle of a 10 game road trip. This should be a game we can win. So, let's take this lead into the half and come out with some actual energy in the 2nd half for once.

GO CAVS!!!
Mo and Jamison, I hate on them enough, but they played like men tonight. And for that brief moment where JJ blocked Griffin and then Mo hit the three - that crowd and that moment was exactly like the playoffs of years gone by.
Glad I was watching tonight and again - GO CAVS!

That JJ block / Mo 3 were awesome. JJ was a beast on D tonight too. The block at the buzzer almost looked like a goaltend though.

Figures the Cavs would win tonight and screw up an epic battle of losing teams on Sunday. I thought for sure breaking the streak would have been enough to get a headline on nba.com

Congrats Cavs.!!! The Clippers were a good team to end the streak with because the negative attention can swing quickly to them. They are usually an easy team to make fun of.

Jamison Mo Williams, and Hickson made sure we weren't going to lose tonight. Jamison with 35 points and 9 assists, Hickson with 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 blocks, and Williams with 14 assists.
Man, between Williams and Sessions the Cavaliers got 19 assists and only 4 turnovers.
Glad to see that this losing streak is over with.

Went from a 26 game losing streak to possibly a two game winning streak. The Wizards are 0-25 on the road this year and that is who the CAVS play tomorrow at HOME.
