The Indians/Red Sox game is gonna be on ESPN tonight. Im hoping they don't black it out in Columbus. With 160 or so games being called by the same two people, manning and whats his face. It would be nice to watch the game on a different network than STO.

Does the ESPN broadcast get blacked out in Cleveland too? I forget.

I really don't know.

I haven't had cable in years.

i know that it does here whenever the sox or cubs are on.

i'm not a huge matt underwood guy, but he's grown on me a little (kinda like fred did with the cavs) but i love rick manning's color commentary, he has the respect of that clubhouse to point out errors and stuff that they're doing wrong. he's as objective as you are going to get for a local color guy.

just one more reason to get mlb.tv though, you can listen to either team's broadcast, including both radio and tv. i watched the tribe game yesterday with the game synched up to hammy. it really doesn't get any better than that.

I didn't realize you could listen to the radio broadcast while watching the game. I'll have to try that out tonight.

It doesn't always work, sometimes it's not even offered, but at worst it will just revert you back to the tv audio.

you can go back in the archives and do it too. nothing like hearing hammy call that pronk walk off last week.

Hammy is one of the best out there ... even the talk show radio guys out here say they love listening to him call game winning plays when they do the daily recaps.

I'd much rather have Al Powlowski do the TV Indians games than the steeler fan Underwood. Keep Rick Manning though. He's good too.

I listen to many of the Tribe games on audio at work the next day. Good way of lifting the mood (this season anyways)

Steeler fan? He's a Cleveland native, isn't he? I got a real problem with that. I always say that I don't care who our athletes root for, just play hard for us, but that disgusts me that he's one of those bandwagon fans from NE Ohio.

Al Powloski calling an exciting Tribe walkoff win, and calling paint drying on a fence would sound exactly the same.

Sorry Indians fans, but your winning streak is over, beginning tonight.

I'm already calling the Red Sox sweep for this series

I'm just glad the Tribe gets to go slumming against one of those barely over .500 big dollar AL East teams so they can actually get on television a couple times.

Yeah, sweeping up the dirt in The Tribe's locker room after cleaning off their spikes from all of the stomping,....

All kidding aside, ...this is a good test,...the Sox are on the rise. they probably have the best lineup and rotation(s) in the AL. Doesn't matter if Boston wins all the three -- the worst The Tribe can end up is with is a bloody nose and a 4 game lead.

Well, the game is blacked out on espn 2 in Columbus, I don't remember the games being blacked out in Cleveland, figures. You would think with 162 games in a season, one would get an occasional unbiased broadcast nope

162 biased broadcasts
0 unbiased broadcasts

That being said there is a rain delay, game won't start till around 8 then a couple hours after that more rain. This one won't finish before midnight.

There are currently tornado warnings in southern Cuyahoga county...hopefully it blows through and they can squeeze the game in but I'm not holding my breath.

well, the Victor Martinez game (we wanted Masterson + prospects over straightup for Bucholz) is showing why we liked both guys at least.

hopefully we don't waste another Masterson gem.

Manny just got tossed arguing an egregiously wrong call by the first base ump. Marson does right by Manny and picks him off by a mile.

We aren't working counts tonight. Buchholz has only thrown 83 pitches through 7 innings. He could go a complete game tonight.

Good thing is that we still have 2 full innings to catch up.

Perez giving up a hit to put runners at 1st and 2nd hurts though.

Pedroia looks like he hurt himself rounding 2nd.

The great thing is that the Indians have time (and the ability) to let him work his way out of his slump.

He is seeing the ball well, as he is walking a lot .... (31 walks to lead the team) and is driving in runs. Unfortunately, he and Choo have had their struggles ... which makes what the rest of the team is doing so damn impressive.

Choo looks like he's starting to come out of his season long funk (tonight excluded) ...... and if Santana can come out of his too we're gonna be really, really difficult to beat.

Perez comes in and 1 pitch, 1 out. Nice start to the 9th.

Whew!

Tribe continues with the best record and most wins of any team in baseball.

45 games in and they have won exactly 2/3 of their games. That is damn impressive.

I plain forgot about STO, and that's where I ended up watching it. By "blackout," I thought you meant completely untelecast at all. Yes, it would have been nice to hear how the national media is taking all this, especially beating down one of their golden boys.
