Usually the game is a few dollars cheaper online (Amazon), you can get the game delivered to your house on the day the game is released for 99 cents and you usually get $20 to use towards your next game.

I like to be as orange as possible. I did pre-order this one. Pretty excited to start playing a football game again (I've been playing the latest Tiger Woods which I really like too).

So if I buy it on amazon right now and place my order, it's going to be guaranteed to get to me on Tuesday? I've done things like this in the past and they got screwed up, but I may try it again.

Amazon has a cut off, obviously. But I am pretty sure the release day delivery is still available right now.
I have been ordering from Amazon with release day delivery for the last 2 years, never been "screwed". I get my game around 12:30 the day of every time. But that would depend on your UPS route. If you dont work and want the game early then going up to the store might be a better option for you.
I have a job and getting it delivered to my house saves me time, gas and money vs going to the store to pick it up. Also saves me on my next game purchase.

So I didn't win my tournament... Kinda depressing really... I'm ok if someone beats me, because they're better, or played a better game... But I hate losing when the game itself messes up, not neccesarily a glitch... For example, It's the Final Four of the tourny, I'm Green Bay, he's New Orleans, He's got 3rd and 12 on my 40, lobs it to the endzone, I switch to Charles Woodson, run to the circle... Try to Strafe, and Charles..Just...Keeps...RUNNING... Touchdown...  The tournament itself was a bit lame, being in a Walmart afterall, 5 Minute Quarters, and each game was only one half... There were like 30 people though, and we didn't start it till 7pm... So it was somewhat neccesary, as they only had one TV hooked up to start with, hooked a second one up later, I left Walmart at about 1am... Had fun, still depressed though...
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I can't throw intermediate routes to save my life so far.
Part of that is learning the new AI, but they definitely juiced the LB's in coverage.

I found that also to be true with the two games i squeezed in last night. Some of my go to plays made me situp and pay more attenchen to coverage. I think the windows may have gotten tighter. More playing in necessary.
Also, did anyone take the time to update roster yet? Just curious on browns team changes only. I didn't have the patience when I finally got to sit down iwwth it, I tossed it right in and started playing.

If EA could copy NBA2ks Player Mode, and go from there, I'd care, but "Superstar" mode has gone striaght down hill since it's first creation...

Same for me as well. Hillis is a beast though. Constantly getting extra yards for me and breaking tackles.

the nba 2k be a player mode is by far the best ever. totally agree.
i love the press conferences where you can bag on the opponents or throw your teammates/coaches under the bus or just be a complete d-bag. so awesome...
the drills are fun too. i really like how they use the point system to make your player better. they really put a lot of thought and resources into that (i really think the 2k bball franchise is the best sports one out there, fifa is a close 2nd, ncaa football and the show baseball are both in the conversation too)

The game is gonna take some time to get use too.. The 0-line against the pass isn't holding up as I would like, including the left side. It's pissing me off. lol.
I do like though how speed to me doesn't seem to be that much of a factor.. Madden 11, if you had a slow WR, he was not getting open.. Seems as though they have changed that up a little bit.

I still can't make up my mind on what playing speed I should have. I have experimented so far with very slow to slow. I didn't buy last year's madden, but I think this is a pretty big improvement overall for the game(franchise and gameplay feel better) PRACTICE is once again in franchise mode as well. Addressing the intermediate passing, I've been trying to throw quick passes using 3 step drops and it's been helping, so maybe that will work for you guys. The music in the game still sucks, JMO.

but anyways,
Game is pretty good so far, I haven't played madden for about three years, so its refreshing to play again. The animation is better in general, and the game play flows pretty good.
My one big complaint is the commentary. Its horrrrible. Every game they announce Hillis and Sheldon Brown as being the key players. (I've played about 5 games, so I'm assuming thats all they do ) They don't ever say Colt McCoy's name. TD's are very lackluster on the verbal side.
Animation makes up for it though, and if you were to be playing with some buds you would just ignore it. Its sad that I think i miss hearing madden himself blabbering about punting the ball on 4th down, Favre, and talking about 90% of football is half mental.

On the recieving end. which does seem a bit less sure thing, I have noticed that the run after the catch has improved. you dont' just all down if a DB is within 3 feet of you. They have the audio of Phil Taylor as Ryan Taylor  . and MOST annoying,, I took the time to use my pre order code to download my all rookie and all sophmore teams last night. played two games with them. after dinner tonight sat down to play and there not there anymore!!!  this is why i agree with they guys that says ship the game correctly the first time. who do I call? Micorsoft, EA, Amazon?? and you can only update the rosters if you have the Pay membership to xbox live. can't with free unless im not seeing something?

Call ea if your code isnt working. My buddy called because the online pass code that came with the game wouldn't work. They gave him a new code and all of the other pre order codes from gamestop, amazon, etc

I'm just saying a large portion of the football video game fanbase enjoyed what 2k was doing, and EA and the NFL apparently felt it was better that they be the only ones ALLOWED to make NFL games... Regardless of fan opinion.

it should have came with a "manual", but the actual instructions on how to play the game are accessed through the menu options.

Yeah, mine came in the mail yesterday.. Just a 3-panel card telling you how stingy they are requiring the code to be entered to access online content. It also says something like "game manual included on disc" or something like that.

Nowadays theres more info on the back of the case then in the book... If there even is one...

pump fake works pretty well in this game it seems, of course I've only played All-Pro so far, and only Browns v. Steelers.

It's just the accuracy.. Not sure if its just Colt or not, since I only play w/ the Browns.. but he misses wide open guys too many times.. can't throw a curl route.. and so many other things.. gotta find some new money plays b/c the 5 or 6 that I ran on 11' rarely work.

Well me, I'm doing a great job at passing. especially up the middle with Watson and A. Smith. I'm deadly accurate on slant routes. My curls routes are ok. Right now I'm playing on Pro to get used to the controls. I never played Madden 11.
Also, have you guys played franchise with the Browns yet? How do you like your rainning home games!? lol. They need to patch that ASAP! Oh the commentary...LOL! I think the passed the pipe before each game, IDK.

Watson and Moore ALWAYS drop my passes.. lol.. I just started an online franchise and the first game against the Bengals was in RAIN. lol. And they downgraded the commentary from last year.. half of the game is silence now.
