I like Braxton Miller.
As a pure football player.
Not as a Quarterback.
I have faith he can develop like Troy Smith did.
However you're right.

That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen in that game.

LSU's defense is ridiculous.
Also, LSU's QB has that playaction down pat. He's fooled me a couple times. Reminds me of when Boomer Esiason used to do it.

Lattimore isn't too shabby for SC, either. He doesn't have breakway speed, but I could see him being an adequate pro.

This is a Divison 1 College Football thread.
So why has anyone said anything about Kentucky?
As for the Toledo game - I still haven't seen the video of the PAT but everything I've read said it was completely blown and the replay guy needs to be fired and banned immediately. A Buckeye buddy of mine even called this evening to tell me we were jobbed, so that's about all the proof I need.
First time I've been online this evening... going to track down the video and witness the ignorance for myself.

Still haven't seen the video - but I did find this... *********************************************************************** Syracuse gained a 30-27 lead on Ryan Nassib's 18-yard lob to Alec Lemon at the back of the end zone with 2:07 left in the fourth. Officials reviewed the extra point by Krautman, which appeared on a replay to be wide but was allowed to stand. After the game the Big East released this statement in regards to the play: "After studying the videos of the Syracuse extra point attempt at 2:07 of the fourth quarter, we have concluded that the ruling on the field that the kick passed between the uprights was incorrect, and that the replay official made an error in failing to reverse that ruling. In reviewing the video, we have determined that the angle from behind the kicking team shows conclusively that the ball passes outside the right upright.
"Our review of the process determined that the replay official mistakenly focused his attention on the sideline angle, which proved to be distorted. We are confident that our officiating staff will learn from this situation in order to prevent a reoccurrence."http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=312670183Hey that's cool, Big East. It's not like it cost a team a win or anything... oh, wait.

Stupid replay official...
From now on we should have Refs stand under each side of the uprights, just to make sure the ball goes through...
....Wait....
(Seriously, Why did this have to go to a replay official? what were the refs ON THE FIELD watching?)

Matt Barkley really isn't as good as ESPN hypes him.
It's a good thing he plays in LA. I couldn't imagine him playing somewhere with crappy weather. He's throwing ducks in this wind.

So LSU actually does have an offense...

Aaaand the video. I may not be the smartest guy to come down the pike... but if it goes through the uprights, it'd almost have to disappear behind the upright at some point when you pull it like this kid did - right? Guess not over in Big Eastville. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/bl...;ysp_frm_woah=1

Money or blindness.
Jerry Meals in baseball against my Pirates... This bum in Syracuse against my Rockets... Clearly this is my "Year of the Blind Official". Browns, you're on the clock.

jc...
I hope Braxton Miller learns really quickly how to stay in the pocket, look for receivers and throw a pass. I was at the game today and from what I saw he looked awful. Chucked up some lobs and that was about it. 4 of 8 for 70-something yards when I left after the third quarter. I don't care if the run was "working" for them...if you can't pass with some measure of success against Colorado then you have some issues. Dude drops back, looks up for a second and takes off running. That's not going to come close to cutting it when they play an actual team.

A true freshmen in his first game starting ever didn't look like a superstar?

Forget superstar. He didn't look like a football player. He looked like a guy who could run around and make a bunch of lesser athletes miss attempts to tackle him.
Not saying he won't be good. Just saying he has a hell of a long way to go to get there.

Disagree, football players make plays. He made plays when we needed it.
He isn't a good QB right now.

You and I could've "made plays' against that Colorado squad. Their defense was totally inept. Forgive me for being wholly unimpressed. Like I said...hell of a long way to go to becoming a competent quarterback.

When you're reviewing a PAT, why would you ever use the sideline angle?? The "behind the kicker" angle was as clear as day.
And why was the guy focusing on one angle? Wouldn't you focus on a couple different ones?

It smells to high heaven. The line on the game was Syracuse -2.5. UT got jobbed. Reading the comments, it appears the Rockets had a return TD called back for a non-existant block in the back also.

I'd assume from the Big East since the conference admitted the wrong call and put out the presser.

The Toledo board I go to had/has people talking about 3 calls...
Of course the missed PAT and blown replay call... The phantom block in the back call on the Page return TD that you spoke of... A call where Dantin was called for making an illegal pass for being past the line of scrimmage, but the video showed his foot was out of bounds before making the throw.
The worst part of it is what can you do about it? Toledo's not going to be granted a victory even though they were screwed royally from that one call. Can you imagine the media you-know-what-storm that would be out there today had this happened to an OSU, LSU, Oklahoma etc.? It would be out of control last night and this morning.
What an abysmal explanation from the conference and that replay guy - "I was looking from the side angle". GMAB. Enjoy your payday and stay classy.
