Forgot about Jackson...but still not that much better. He hasn't exactly lit it up yet but then again, GB isn't that much of a run happy team with one RB. They like to spread it out. Either way, life without Hillis is scary right now.

I can only inagine the Browns suits are reviewing a list of potential RBs for this upcoming week and someone says "wait, this guy here is dead." And then MH says, "Well cross him off the list then."
Then they all chuckle.

Jackson was looking REALLY good in pre-season before the injury. And he is a guy who doesnt have history of injury so I feel good about him coming back and showing what he has next season!
And as far as this year, I want us to bring in Brian Westbrook!

Has Armand Smith signed anywhere? At least he's familiar with the play book.

I wonder who goes .....
I would guess that a guy like Ray Ventrone would be in danger ....... he's been inactive, and his primary value is on special teams.

Ventrone has been inactive because of an injury.

Maybe he goes on IR then.
With injuries to positions like WR, and LB, I can't see them making a move there. We are carrying 8 DL which is about right for a 4-3 team. Maybe a TE could go ..... but they seem to want to play some weird 3 TE WCO offense .......
They could dump Marecic, but they seem to like him for some reason .... plus he is healthy at a position lacking in health.

the answer is obvious. we sign David Veikune to be our new RB and he does it all with his motor. done.

Yep. This one. It's not funny.

Me a downer...I guess..but all Heckart has done is sit on his hands. I also notice Brandon Lloyd made a contribution in a upset over the Saints. this Browns offense isn't that much better than the 99 or 2000 Browns offenses
Wow. So because HeckErt didn't bring in someone else's trash he hasn't done anything? He didn't continue to scour the waivers and possibly ask about trades? He didn't speak with agents? He didn't focus on the draft so that by next season we have a few more studs?
You're right. He's getting paid to play tetris on his computer all day.
Brandon Lloyd again? Yup. The "burner" had a long of 16 yards. He also had 6 catches out of 13 targets. Not knocking him but 6 catches for 53 yards? .... Eh. Not impressed.
And please don't say "imagine what he could do here" because I think the Rams offense is a little messed up. Austin Pettis had 1 catch for 7 yards in that single game. Meanwhile - Greg Salas had 5 catches out of only 6 targets and for 53 yards. He was drafted in the 4th round and he will be around a lot longer than Lloyd will.

The first thing that came to my mind when Hardesty has his multiple drop game...
He never would of been in there if Jackson hadn't gotten hurt...
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

so true, but how you gonna know when you pick a guy up that he's going to get injured to the point of missing the season.
I thought at the time that it was a good gamble.. But that's what all these pickups are right... a gamble.

And people wanted to punk him out because he wasn't playing hurt like everybody else does. So instead of getting healthy first, he goes out and tries to play and now he'll be out for extended more games. Now everyone is happy. Right?

congrats to him as he is from Houston and will have a large contingent of family in town.
also, a huge contingent of Texas fans are going down to the game (they are calling it the Colt Caravan) and will be cheering for both of those guys (and Phil).

How does A Smith go from the 53 man roster AND being active on gameday to start the season...to being moved to the practice squad and NOT re-called when we have injuries to his position.
One guy from another team's PS gets the nod over him...then a guy not on a team at all gets the nod over him.
If Clayton is better than Smith, why wasn't Clayton on the team instead of Smith? He was certainly available.

They probably wanted a bigger back if he had to pull starter or primary backup type duty. (which he will at this point) Smith was going to be used as a change of pace guy originally ....... but to get that change of pace, you need a pace.
We barely have a pulse.

I thought the EXACT same thing.. Obi and Smith would be a decent duo IMO.. even if its just for a few weeks..
maybe they dont want to mess up his PS status.. not sure how PS works exactly, but could have something to do with it.. I'd still rather put him on the 53.
