If you go back to September and October he was only half way (or less) into his junior year.
Many guys move up based on their final college year.
Where was he rated before his Junior Year? I believe the argument made by some is no one would consider him worthy of the #4 pick and that only after Barkley and Jones returned did he miraculously make that jump.

Griffin made huge improvement from his Sophomore to Junior years. (He just finished his junior year)
He was good in his Sophomore year. He was absolutely great in his Junior year.

I'm not really a believer in one of the defensive guys. I think we are in too bad a state on offense, and though "defense wins championships" is a true moniker, in today's NFL, offense wins championships, too. And we all know what sells tickets.
CB is no more or less likely than Blackmon, RG3, or Richardson. Coples is a guy I like, but to me he's a longshot at #4.
***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy. Manziel, see Josh Gordon. Dumbass.***

If we go CB at 4 I hope he can play both ways. How come RG3 is a "Boom or Bust" pick but the others are a lock ? Unless the next Reggie White or Deon Sanders is sitting there at 4.. I want offense.
We would have to build the best defense in the leagues history for this team to win with the offense we now have.

What if the best available offensive guy is ranked 15th on our board? Do you still think we should go offense?

I would ask who made up the board then fire him. THEN I'd pick the left over's from the QB, RB or WR stock.
I just don't believe any defensive player is THAT clear cut above one of the top 4 or 5 offensive players.

It was a hypothetical question. You shouldn't take an offensive player just because you need one if there is a higher rated defensive player available.

Careful suggesting that we even consider drafting Coples... Seems the board savants get their panties in a wad over the suggestion... Not going to be shocked at all if he gets graded in the top 5 after the combine and his pro day though...
I personally do Not want to see us move the #22 for anything except a part of a luck package which won't happen anyway... RG3 is gone at #4 Then I am all in on the Coples train...

We need a RDE that can rush the passer. coples just doesn't have the burst, motor nor the pass rush moves. I see a guy that can destroy slow footed tackles but struggles with average caliber tackles. He may be a LDE if his game improves but he will just never be a quality RDE in this league.

We need a DE that can both rush AND set the edge in the run game.... I don't have the slightest clue as to whether or not Coples can be that guy, but that is what we need.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I agree and would also say that an upgrade at DE is one of our biggest needs right now (biggest on defense).
I only saw Coples twice this season and he was underwhelming to put it lightly. I love Ingram though. I wouldn't mind if we took him at #4 or dropped down a few slots and took him (no way he'll be there at #22 IMO).
