Quote: I may be in the vast minority here, but I'm not a big fan of Floyd. I view him as kinda clunky and kinda stiff. He really doesn't even look like a #1 to me, and because of that, I don't view him as a 1st rounder. Just too many question marks.
Some question marks sure - but there's a huge upside -- I didn't think he'd run a 4.42, saw him as a 4.52 maybe (which - given how terrible the timing is, is completely possible).
But I'm not sure how you don't see him as a #1 - nobody in the draft runs an array of routes as complete as Floyd does. He gets about 4-5 screen passes per game, is a big deep threat due to the size/ups, and runs good routes in the intermediate game.
He's also by far the best run blocker of the WR group, which I like.

Agree. He already made my "don't draft" list....D.Posey and Kearse are in it too
Watching the drills, really liked AJ Jenkins, McNutt and R.Matthews...Sanu and J.White look much faster than they timed...K.Wright though was in a league of his own imho, catching everything at full speed
Kellen Moore looks horrible btw....he lobs and isn't even accurate

I have to say, I don't follow the draft like some of you guys do, but I don't remember seeing two QBs who seemed so sure-fire studs as I'm seeing with Luck and RGIII. I'm sure there were some, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Last year, the year before, the year before, etc. Also, next year.
In the 2010 draft the 4 best QBs were Bradford, Tebow, Clausen and McCoy
None of those comes close to Luck and RG3...
in 2011 there was Newton who was a less experienced and less brainy version of RG3 and Gabbert, who was this year's Tannehill and Locker a Landry Jones-like underachiever
That's just the last 2 drafts and bot Luck and RG 3 easily would have been the head of the class in each

I'm basing these comparisons on the popular perception of Griffin - my personal view is much more critical, so I'd probably include another QB class or two in there.

I agree with you, and he has had quite a few personal problems.

What do y'all think of Stephen Hill? I don;t know much about him but saw he clocked a 4.3.... at 6'4 with a 29 ypc that's pretty impressive...

The 83 draft was probably the deepest in qb's.
1st - John Elway 7th - Todd Blackledge 14th - Jim Kelly 15th Tony Eason 24th - Ken O'Brien 27th - Dan Marino
3 HOF'ers 1, 14 and 27 3 Also rans... 7, 15 and 24
The NFL still isn't better at predicting which guys are going to be actual studs, just like 83.

I think Floyd is like Vincent Jackson. That's what I think you're getting with him. He's not quite as tall, but his frame is very similar. As he just showed, he's got great straight-line speed and we know he has strong hands.

I've been telling you guys, Jenkins and McNutt are really underrated in this draft. Just like last year I was saying Vincent Brown and Denarious Moore were.
Jenkins ran that post-corner drill better than anybody today. He's so shifty... not shifty like Wylie or the Wright brothers, but he's very good on his routes.
Why would any wide receiver worth a damn ever go to Georgia Tech?
Calvin Johnson?

I'll pimp a Gator I would like to get....Chris Rainey.
I don't think he will be a major factor as a runner, but I see him as a great option out of the backfield. He timed a little slow....he plays a lot faster than the official 4.45, something was a bit off today....he can legit 4.39 and has great hands. Backers won't be able to cover him and many safeties won't be able to stay with him
I'd take him at the top of round 4 if he lasts.
Teams that make a effort to get him the ball will reap the benefits
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
Just finished watching the receivers and now starting to watch the RBS. I gotta say this is a sick group of receivers. Hill put on a show. Sanu and Jordan white ran slow 40s but they looked fantastic in the receiver drills as did Blackmon, Floyd and Randel.
BTW Sanu and White reminded me a lot of Haden with sloppy technique in the 40. These are your big wide bodied receivers and they just dont get up out of their stance quick enough and it really costs them but their football speed on those drills was very impressive. I think any of those guys i listed would be great in our offense. You arent gonna be able to jam any of them and all can run after catch.

It is why all of these scouts have their own stopwatch. You will see these scouts start looking at each others stop watches after each person runs to compare.
A lot of these guys just never ran track. Watch Sanu run the 40 and he jumps out of the box and I am not talking explosion, he litereally jumped up lmao. Jordan White runs a great 20 but he takes shorter steps and loses a lot of time where a long strider pours it on at the end.
I thought Wright came out high in the hips and it cost him but man he can fly.
BTW this kid Turbin a RB from Utah state is really impressing me. I remember watching them in the first game of the year against Georgia but do not remember the player. Anyone familiar with this kid because man he looks the part doing the drills.
