My thoughts exactly. The replay clearly shows that Dielman was woozy after that play, yet he finishes the game without even a whisper about the Chargers coaches and med. staff doing anything wrong, not seeing it, etc.
There may be people who have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.

same thing happened to Colston too.
it's just a matter of that it was a QB for us that got hurt, on national TV, after an obvious huge hit, with no other big news stories on that Friday after the game. perfect storm.

James Farrior has been cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a tweet from his agent Ralph Cindrich.
Farrior had been a two time Pro Bowler for the Steelers of his 10 year-career with the team. Last season, in 14 games, he had just 57 tackles, his lowest amount since starting just six games for the New York Jets in 2000.
The 37-year-old became the latest casualty in a string of moves that have helped the Steelers reduce their salary cap figure by over $37.4 million. This week, Pittsburgh cut longtime star wide receiver Hines Ward, and chose not to franchise tag standout wide receiver Mike Wallace.

Hines Ward without a doubt is past his Prime,, I thought farrior was pretty effective last year.. might even have another year in the tank for someone willing to take a shot at him..

I gotta disagree .... I have seen more plays where the pile is already on the ground or a pair of linemen (both teams) are already tapping off on each other ... or the play is 10 yards away where Kemo will just run in and try to late hit someone, bulldoze a pile, or even give a guy a "ticky tack" shove ... he is honestly in my opinion one of the dirtiest players in the league because what he does and gets away with after the whistle.
Not commenting on his play ... but I'd hate to have a guy who disrespects the game so much.

Well, pittsburgh has been cleaning house for sure. they've always had a habit of being able to reload.. in fact they've always made it look easy. but I don't remember a time when they got rid of 3 or 4 starters in one off season...

While I hate to be the one to bring this up ... I know it's literally only a matter of minutes before it IS brought up.
Does this 'officially' make the price for the #2 tag drop?
Not even because a team is off of the market in the bidding war ... but because the SECOND that Peyton is cut he is free to sign with a new team (unless I misinterpreted that).
So Jeff Fisher and the Rams know that the MINUTE Peyton hits the market ... a team like Washington or Miami can counter the deal by saying "no way we will pay THAT much ... we are just going to go sign Manning"
There is obviously a lot more headgames that can be attached ... but I think that St. Louis will start to feel the pressure now that another option is available and I really do think that they could trade the pick within a few days to "secure" their value (if that was their true intention anyway).
Because as soon as FA starts teams could literally just go after FA's whether it's Flynn or Campbell or Orton or whoever. You and I might not like Orton ... but if Pete Carroll or Joe Philbon think that they can do more with Orton / Campbell and 3 top draft picks INSTEAD of just trading for Griffin ... that would be when Cleveland gets on the phone and says "good luck making the trade ... we're willing to bet he slides to us at #4 anyways"
So ... Rams trade pick within 3 days?

Damn shame they can't find a way to treat him better after all he gave them. I hope he goes somewhere and leads that other team to 3 Super Bowls, while the colts struggle to win 3-4 per season!

IF the key word is IF Manning is healthy....Holmgren should call him and get him to cleveland ASAP to have a talk.
Manning still has 4 or 5 good years left in him....lets teach our young Qb how to win behind a guy that you know...actually knows how to win!
look how god awful the Colts were "without Manning"
Manning could turn this Browns team into a 11 win team....Manning is no joke...he makes "everyone" around him better...Heck Manning may be able to turn Norwood and MoMass into upper tier #2 receivers...Manning may be able to make them look that good...God knows Manning made other WR look good in Indy...
I say we keep Colt, Sign Manning...using our #4 on Richardson, use our #22 on the best WR on the board, shore up the OL via FA and the draft...and make a push for a playoff spot next year...im tired of the losing rebuilding excuse every ryear...
Manning REBUILDS THIS TEAM....by rebuilding and bringing back the culture of winning...we need someone on this team that is a WINNER...that knows how to win...that can rally guys here to win..Manning is that guy...and he teaches the younger guys in the lockeroom this culture that can carry it on after Manning is gone 4 or 5 years from now...you take Ray Lewis away from the Ravens and that tram isn';t the same.
If we have a legitimate shot at Manning...we would be fools not to sign him if he is healthy...he changes this team overnight....he brings back a winning tradition to Cleveland...something this team lost when it got stolen from us and taken to Baltimore..Manning can bring that back...and it will only cost us money...not draft picks...

If his arm strength is were it used to be, I say hell yes try and sign him. Sign Garcon also.

IMO, there's no way on Earth we're going to even pursue Manning, let alone sign him. Ok, maybe we do our token "due diligence", but I doubt it's going to go beyond Holmgren, Heckert and Shurmur texting back and forth:

And there was major gratitude shown when he was given his last contract, but we all know why they are in the position to go in a different direction.
Winning the Andrew Luck sweep steaks affords them this luxury.
Manning probably doesn't want to restructure his contract either at his age. I'm not sure that was an option on the table or not, but he knows that he only has a few big paychecks coming, before it's time for him to retire.

How so??? I don't think it is in poor form. With both Isray and Manning going to be in attendance, I think both know it had to work this way.
Really man, there is no way the Colts could pony up 28 mil. If anybody is a bad guy, it's Peyton. Maybe he could have figured that out and said, hey, lets talk about a new number.....and don't get me wrong, I am not blaming him either.
A bad set of circumtances hit.....Manning more or less broke his neck at a fairly advance football age and ended up missing the entire year before a 28 mil bonus was in place.
Make him younger or another year away from the bonus deadline and things would be different.

I don't think he's willing to take the beating he would take as a member of the Browns. AFC North defenses are a completely different animal compared to what he usually played against.
If the price is right I'd sign him, though. We would have to beef up the line and give him a viable RB to take the pressure off of him.

Would love manning in cleveland - don't think he'd come here, as we're far from a good "win now" candidate - washington/miami make more sense.
Spinal fusion certainly does not make your neck "stronger" - that's one of the more ridiculous things I've heard - I don't know the details of his surgery though, and doubt he would come back if he was putting himself at risk (remember Cooper Manning gave up football due to spinal stenosis).

What I find sad, is that everytime a big name free agent is in the news and where he might go.. The Browns are never even in the conversation. No mention that he might even be interested in coming here and we might be pursuing him. The main reason is we never seem to be "in contention" to draw that kind of interest. You could argue we are building through the draft and aren't spending big bucks for a FA.. but lets face it, If you were Manning, would you want to come to Cleveland ? We've been a joke for years and aren't close to what he wants for a team to finish his career.

Good thought.
Add in a dome and you play west coast teams in division so you beat a lot of the cold except for Denver. Plus, Seattle is a pretty nice place to hang.

I've read a couple places that Houston might be a landing spot for Manning. It does make some sense. If the Texans where able to trade Schaub and get rid of Delhomme, Garcia and Mario Williams etc. they could create room to possibly sign him. I believe Houston plays in a dome so weather isn't an issue.Plus playing Indy twice could be a plus for Manning.I can't help but think the Texans want to look at Yates as there QB of the near future and what better guy to have around for a few years than Manning?
