Scott likes a PF who can get rebounds and score without set plays. I think Thompson can be valuable. It's still too early to know for certain. He seems to be limited offensively, but if we find a quality SF type, I think that Thompson can be a useful piece, even as a starter.

I think that it truly depends on what piece they can get next.

If they can get a premium quality Center, then they should. If they can get a premium quality PF, ditto. If they can find a superstar SF, then that's where they should look. I'm not married to the idea of any of the players we have at any of those 3 positions as future starters.

I do think that Zeller shows promise as that Center who can get down the court in Scott's offense. I like the idea of him running alongside Irving and Waiters. Add either a start quality SF or PF and I think that we'll really have something working. Maybe we can trade Andy and a 1st to Miami for James?

Seriously though, I like pieces of this team. No teams is perfect all the way around. I think that Irving and Waiters have the potential to be a 1-2 on a championship team. Andy is a quality player, but probably not that 3rd star level player. However, the Cavaliers have a ton of assets, and maybe they can either draft, or trade for that 3rd guy. Man, if I was a star level big, I would LOVE to play with Irving and Waiters pulling the defense out to the corners.

I'm not all that worried about this team losing games like tonight's .... because even though it's frustrating, they are very young. Many players are showing their talent, but also their inconsistency. I don't know what guys like Thompson are going to become .... but if Samuels can begin developing a little 8-10 foot shot ... then so can Thompson. I like that Thompson is already a guy who is working towards that 10 points and 10 boards level. he still needs to improve his free throw shooting, and also needs to work on his shot, but I think that he has the drive to do that work. I think that he can be what Scott wants at PF within his offense.

I really think that we need that "3rd guy" ....... and I think that whoever we have at the other 2 spots is good enough to win big with. If/when we contend, it will be because of our starters, bot out backups.

If Dion and Kyrie keep playing like they have, we need to give Chris Grant a fat contract ASAP before some bigger market team takes him. Kyrie and Dion are thoroughbred studs. You are right, we need a third stud. I'd like to get a post player.

This west coast trip has been brutal.
