Surprised that Schaeffering got cut. I would have kept Sims. Dude just makes plays. Not surprised by any of the others.
I hope Sims and Cooper stay with us via practice squad.

Schaefering is a body, and little more.
He's not a good run stopper, and he can't rush the passer to save his life. I'm not a bit surprised that he was released.

The article Terry Pluto had on Simms made me really want him to make this team. Oh well, maybe practice squad, and I guess everyone's got a story.

The Browns site had a video story of the DB Davis on the day he was cut.
You just never know .......

IMO - He is slightly below average as an NFL DT. But he seems to be in/around a lot of plays. And we don't have a lot of DT depth at the moment with Taylor on PUP. Rubin, Hughes, Wynn - Am I missing anybody? I think we need at least 4 DT's. And maybe Schaef is nothing more than a body but we need some bodies.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

It's just one that I don't get at all. I had him as almost a lock to make the roster.

Well, we traded him and didn't technically cut him according to his agent. Now I'm wondering who we got.

Not questioning your info... but link please.

Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

Not bad considering he was undrafted....but i would rather have him than a 7th rounder or whatever it becomes. I thought he had potential

Got it.
Agent says Browns trade SS David Sims to Eagles By Nate Ulrich Published: August 31, 2012
The Browns have traded strong safety David Sims to the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional 2013 draft pick, Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com reported.
Sims' agent, Malik Shareef, first announced the trade tonight via Twitter. In an e-mail to the Beacon Journal, Shareef said he was under the impression Sims was cut until the Browns contacted him at about 9 tonight to pass along word of the trade.
"The Cleveland Browns have traded David Sims to the Philadelphia Eagles." Shareef tweeted. "Don't know terms, just happy for [Sims]."
The Browns have yet to announce the move.
Sims spent the final five weeks of the 2011 season on the Browns' practice squad. He had a stellar preseason this summer, compiling two interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown.
"One door closes, another open!" Sims tweeted. "Headed to the Eagles!"

Well, he was going to outplay Ward so he had to go. Don't want those players drafted looking bad.

Jacob Hester was cut (I am on my iPod so I don't know how to get a link). He is someone I'd be interested in as a fourth running back over Ogbonnaya or Thomas. Hester cab block, catch, carry, and is a special teams wiz. I'm kind of shocked he was cut.
