I'm about fed up with Anderson Varejao and his yearly injuries. What do you think about finally trading him? Right now his value is really high even with the injuries. Why not trade him and get two young players and a 1st round pick next year. Here are a few I have seen talked about:
Varejao for Derek Williams, Alexey Shved, 1st (13)
Varejao for Jared Sullinger, Courtney Lee, 1st(15)
Varejao for Perry Jones, Jeremy Lamb, 1st via Tor (top 3 protected)
Cavs have tried to talk to Minnesota about Kevin Love, but they aren't interested in trading Love. Don't get me wrong I love Varejao and how he plays but he is 30 and the injuries, get younger and move on. When or if we are ever contenders he will be to old then. Oh throw in Gibson in whatever deal too!

As much as I love Andy. Why would OKC give up a potential SG in Lamb AND a top pick for him?

If I am the Cavs and I get that offer I hang up the phone and laugh at them. Also, this trade doesn't work with the cap. Although it would be easy for the Celtics to throw Chris Wilcox or Jason Collins into the trade to make things work. Still an awful offer.

This trade would put the Thunder over the cap. And they probably wouldn't give up Jones and Lamb because of the potential quality of the pick. The Thunder also have the Mavs first round pick in 2013, but that might also be a lottery pick, I would say that if you wanted both of those players you would have to ask for that pick. And the trade still wouldn't work because of the cap. The trade that I have heard about is Varejao for Lamb, Perkins, and the Raptors pick.

Is Andy an upgrade over Perkins? A guy the Thunder are used to pkaying with?
Lets say he is.
Is it an upgrade worth BOTH Lamb AND a lottery pick?
If I'm OKC I stand pat. You've got your 3 guys locked up. And the ability to bring a top 10+ guy into a winnig environment. Why trade that away?

If Andy is the guy who you think puts you over the top you do it. Not saying he is, but from their perspective, if they want that kind of guy they are going to have to overpay.
I think Andy would be a great addition to any playoff team, because of his hustle, his defense, he gets under people's skin, and he's finding points now.
Our problem is we don't have that many suitors. OKC knows that too. How many playoff teams have that kind of potential with young assets and a lotto pick? You won't need to count high.
It could be a game of bluff in which nothing ever gets done and Andy stays a Cav past the deadline. I can really see that in fact I'd probably bet on that if I had to.

I think Andy's energy would be great in that young team. OKC fans would love him.
I haven't watched Perkins much this year. Maybe he sucks now and they need to up grade him. But I just doubt it's worth a lottery pick.
Presti traded away their (IMO) 2nd best player. So who knows what he'll do next.

IMO Harden was better than Westbrick.
Westbrook always seemed like the guy who would just throw up shots until they went. Forgetting he had a Top 3 player on the court with him.
Harden was their defacto PG at times running the team.
If anything they were 2a and 2b.

Andy, if healthy, could make OKC the odds-on favorite to win it all, I would think. Instant upgrade over Perk. Every bit as good defensively, not a head case, and a double-double every single night.
Been saying for three years now that Andy isn't a part of the long-term solution and that we need to trade him. His production out of the gate always makes people balk at the idea, but then he gets hurt and thus much more difficult to get max value with in a trade.

Pat Shurmur coached 32 games with the Browns and was 9-23.

The lakers suck, they will be lucky to even make the playoffs. If I had to blame one player it would be Howard. The guy has been a cancer for the past 2 or 3 years, wherever he's been. It seems they had better chemistry with Gasol, and Bynum. Even with Mike Brown a year ago, they were the 3rd best team in the west. I think Howard doesn't want to be there, and is such a strong personality, that he could destroy a lockeroom, and bring a team down all by himself.

They have four really good players and nothing else. Gasol is playing in the wrong system and Howard is not fully healthy. Nash and Bryant are playing to the best of their abilities.

I wish we could trade Andy to OKC. They are playing great ball and could stand a better chance against Miami the 2nd time around.
They will never stop Lebron. Nobody can stop Lebron but himself. However they need to do better against Bosh and Battier. The Heats front court small ball speed destroyed the Thunder.

Tristan has been playing really well lately. I would feel more comfortable trading Andy now than at any other time. I would want value back, but Andy's injury history could limit his value. That could make a deal difficult.

Unfortunately I agree. I think Andy would give Bosh fits and out rebound him because of his energy. OKC just needs an overall better effort from their supporting cast. Durant will be better and Westbrook will be better. They can cancel out whatever Wade and Bosh do. You almost have to live with Lebron going off scoring. He's going to get his when he wants to. Just make it a challenge for him.

The Pit is awesome, I eat there regularly... though the original Pit master left recently to start his own place... will be interesting to see if the quality remains the same over time..
