And so it begins...
(side note: working from home rocks on days like these)

Really college basketball? You're telling me Bucknell only scores 14 and then Valpo only scores 22 in the first half? Ugh.....unwatchable. When are they going to dump the 35-second shot clock?
I'm no score-whore. I can appreciate a 1-0 MLB pitchers duel, a 10-7 NFL game in the snow or a 0-0 overtime NHL game. But to me, basketball is meant to be a fast-paced high-scoring game. Right? Am I the only one pulling my hair out with this junk?

Butler v. Bucknell might be one of the better 1st round matchups, but I'm not betting against Stevens in the tourney.
I don't know as much about college basketball as you guys, but I definitely know that one.
If they lose, I will live with it, but that guy seems like he always has his kids ready.
I can't bet against Brad Stevens either, he beat Gonzaga and Indiana but I like Bucknell
another year, another notch in Stevens tourney belt.

Wisconsin or K St bounces Gonzaga long before you would see them.
Worry about UNM's 2 post players and smothering defense
I'll give you credit. Your post players can ball. I've yet to see a "smothering defense."

I'm embarrased by that sick, pathetic showing tonight. Unbelievable. Deserved to lose. No heart, read too much how great they were suppose to be and couldn't live up to the hype.

I'm not really surprised since UNM struggled to beat Cincinnati.
UNM's bigs are as unathletic as they come and it showed tonight.

Kirk and Bairstow did all they could. Guard play and defense killed us.

On defense they got exposed versus the smaller and faster Harvard bigs, like Psych said
It's what got OKC in trouble vs Miami

really disappointed the MWC did not come to play at all. 1-3 in the tourney so far with Colorado State as the win (whom many thought was the weakest of those teams and gets Louisville next).

Noel is a top 3 NBA draft pick.
Probably, but he's not in the top 20 of the best college basketball players this year.

This teams' problems had zero to do with lacking talent.
Playing basketball is a talent, it's a learned skill... playing college basketball at the highest level requires different talent than winning 1-on-1 games and looking great in AAU games... so in that respect, they did lack talent. Individually they all look great but that's only part of playing basketball.
Hey, on a different note, congrats to the Mountain West for proving why you deserved 5 teams... That artifically inflated RPI really helped you out there...
I had Davidson.. chokers.
I should have trusted my gut instinct because Davidson is the only game I missed EXCEPT where I put the slightest amount of faith in the Mountain West to at least get out of the first round.... As overrated and undeserving as I knew the Mountain West was, I thought UNLV could beat Cal and even I didn't think New Mexico could lose to freakin' Harvard.
Loved watching VCU, I have them beating Michigan and Kansas... that's my one big reach but I think it's possible...

I've got VCU beating Michigan too.
I just can't see anybody beating Kansas. They're gonna rev it up on defense.

I do! But what better way to get there than to settle this straight up who's better. Harvard doesn't have the size to match up against our bigs and only go 5 deep so I don't see them being a problem. Arizona will be tough, but beatable. SHOULD we beat you and see Gonzaga, they are almost a mirror image of us.
Good luck Buckeyes! Hope to see ya in a couple of weeks
I really tried to stay up to watch this game for one reason: what you said about UNM. I fell asleep before the game, though.

the BigXII is horrible. KState getting drummed by LaSalle. OkieState already out. Oklahoma has a very tough SD State team tonight. oh, and Kansas is going to get beat despite what Candy thinks about them. VCU! VCU! MWC vs. BigXII for worst showing so far (yes, BigXII can still dig themselves out of it)

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketba...ut-his-sons-ageShabazz's dad is one shady guy (already known). Important though that this makes Shabazz 6 months older than Otto Porter, not 6 months younger. may not seem like a big deal, but it's significant when looking to separate the two guys. (I'd still take Shabazz)

So in the first round, the weakest region has already lost their 3,4, and 5 seeds.
