I think Colt is making 2 mil. Also pretty sure Usama is making 3 mil.

...and Chris Gocong is on the books with over 4.5mil but he only got a 1.25mil SB, so that's all you need to know..he will get "asked" to restructure a severe paycut, if not he will be released and only accelerate 600k vs the cap. Btw, Usama is making "just" 2.15mil for 2013...

I expect all 3 of those guys to get off the books as soon as we sign/draft someone at their position. We had reportedly over 28mil in cap space left (before or after the Campbel signing?)....let's say before Campbell, then it's about 25mil + 9 mil from those 3 cut-able players above...we still have TONS of room to fill some needs with quality players

Imagine, with the 9mil from those 3 alone we could have signed CB Lewis (5mil) + FS Huff (2mil) and ILB Burnett (~2.5mil)...and our starting D would have been fixed, upgraded without getting older...oh well, guess we can't have a perfect offseason...we still would sit on over 25mil of cap, we could even throw big bucks on a short term deal to OG Moore, one of the better Gs in the NFL, who's still a FA

I really don't get why we don't try to win this season...our cap room and our young roster talent was at his highest since our return. It was all set up to finish off this team by filling in the needs where the draft picks failed

Before Vers bashes me as a hater or hypocrite...I know that the offseason is far from over, so I'll wait and see, but if Kruger, Bryant and a bunch of backups is all we could do with over 50mil in cap, then it would be a disappointing FA period after a very good start of it

FS Rhodes
ILB Dansby
G Moore
G Slauson
WR Hixon
CB Grimes
CB Winfield
FB McIntyre

If we add some of those names above, it'd be a much better offseason...cmon

Ahmad Bradshaw leaves Pittsburgh without a contract

I kind of figured Pittsburgh would lay most of whats left of their cap (if much) towards Ahmad seeing they have virtually nothing at the RB position. I remember last time we played them, their rb's fumbled the rock quite a bit... oh well def not our problem!

They lowered his cap cost for 2013 ..... which they had to do somehow. His deal actually will save them almost $8 million in 2013 cap space, according to the numbers I can find. It also helps them satisfy the requirement to reach 95% of the cap in cash this season. His $25 million signing bonus goes a long way towards that end.

Flynn trade to be expected soon:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/31/flynn-trade-is-expected-to-be-finalized-soon/

Makes you wonder if they get Flynn, obviously they won't be interested in Geno in the draft right? We possibly may be in a better situation to wheel and deal our 6th pick to acquire hopefully a second round and etc...

Or it takes away some of our defensive players if we wanted to snag a defensive stud @ #6...

Teams can still take a QB early. Buffalo and Oakland are basically saying no one in this year's draft can start. Jacksonville proved drafting a QB who is not ready to start year one is difficult.

Maybe they are hoping that they can find their own Russell Wilson this year to beat out Flynn again.

Wouldn't that be a major smash to the head for Flynn if that happened again?

Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver David Nelson is scheduled to visit the Browns on Thursday, Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reported today, and West Virginia University wide receiver Tavon Austin is set to visit Cleveland next week, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported this afternoon.

Nelson, 26, was eligible to become a restricted free agent this offseason. But the Bills decided not to offer him a tender, and he became an unrestricted free agent as a result.

The 6-foot-5, 214-pound Nelson suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament Sept. 9 in the season opener last year and had knee surgery shortly after. Before missing nearly of this past season, Nelson established himself as a solid contributor for the Bills.

In 2011, Nelson started 13 of the 16 games in which he appeared and compiled 61 catches for 658 yards and five touchdowns. In 2010, he joined the Bills as an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of Florida and tallied 31 catches for 353 yards and three touchdowns.

I'm looking at the 49ers roster. With all the talent they have plus 13 draft picks still.

Could they go 16-0?

•Best front 7 in the NFL
•Best o-line in the NFL
•Very talented skill position players
•Incredibly explosive QB
•Elite coaching staff
•Depth

i know, right? Seattle can only line up so many defensive ends at once.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Colt McCoy ended up as the super-bowl winning quarterback?

Man, this place would become intolerable.

Figure i'd throw this up... for laughs.

With the addition of Carson Palmer, Arians says "his QB room is as good as anyones".

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...ood-as-anyones/

LMAO dude, Tom Brady crippled would likely play better than Carson. IDC if Carson played for chokeland, but he didn't do squat cept throw deep balls to Ocho Cinco when he was in his prime during his career. Yeah, big accomplishment.

Same ole' story with Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss. Without Moss, Dante looked shaky. Keep on smoking that whatever it is you're smoking Bruce. Pass it along too, I wouldn't mind thinking my Brownies will take it to the SB with the addition of Jason Campbell LMAO

Nelson is a nice complementary receiver. Three years in the leauge injured almost all of 2012. 61 catches in 2011 with a plus 10 YPC average.

Nor me. Especially since Norwood just signed his offer. That gives us Little, Gordon, Norwood and Benji. Potentially could be very, very dangerous group of threats if we had a QB that can take advantage of the throws Norv will create for them/whoever...

Danario Alexander, Julian Edleman, Ted Gin, Domenic Hixon, these are the FA wide receivers the Browns have "shown interest" of some sort this off season. None of these guys is head and shoulders above Nelson. He's the same type of complement that these players represent. He has been as productive, if not more so, than any of these others guys.

He'd likely work outside across from Gordon, with Little in the slot. He's pretty speedy for a guy that size. 4.6 forty. Clearly a lot of upside potential. He fits the mold and I really hope we sign him.

1. Little will not be a slot WR. Well he might move there to change things up when we go 3 or more...But my point is Little will be our #2 n out there on Downs 1 n 2 not coming in when we go to 3 WR or more sets. Little happens to be an EXCELLENT blocker for the running game...not good but Excellent. He'll be there every down.

We could add a WR...Nelson fits Banner's mathematical scale at age 26 - I think if Larry Fitzgerald was available at 30 he would prefer a Nelson type at 26.

Right now I think the top 4 are Gordon, Little, Benjamin n Norwood...Cooper is OK but a favorite of Weeden for obvious reasons. Still he is the kid on the chopping block. Of course I think we would carry around 8 in camps n then trim it down to a final 5 when we get down to 53. One more not a big move in FA like this kid Nelson n a couple from UDFA or a late round pick...more than likely.

One thing I sort of like. 11 (counting Gocong n Young just released) UFA's out there are all unsigned - Dawson of course signed n a couple worth something Watson n Rucker signed...the rest all there. So our Subtractions have not really hurt us much - good dead wood clearing.

JMHO

Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off!

I think Nelson would be a nice pick-up. Way better than MoMass. He won't start, but he will give us quality reps when he is in there. He sees the ball in to his hands unlike some of the bums we have had on the bench the last decade.....heck, some of the bums we have had to put on the field for that matter.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

I agree, he is a great blocker in the run game. He's also very effective in the slot, (hard to bring down and great at YAC) so while he may be on the outside on 1st & 2nd downs, I'd look for him moving inside on 3rd (or other passing downs).

I also agree that it was an effective and efficient culling. I'll feel even better about the moves once we have a #2 CB, a FS, an ILB, another WR (hopefully Nelson), and lock in a kicker and a punter.

You mean exactly what Philly had him doing, not very well?

The guy is a zone cover corner, strictly one side of the field. He doesn't follow the best WR around, he needs the sideline to help him..

And he's old, and was never really fast to begin with...

What?

That's not true at all. All Nnamdi can play nowadays is man coverage, specifically press-man. He'll have a resurgence in SF IMO. The Eagles constantly putting him in zone coverage is the exact reason his career went down the toilet.

You're correct Blue.
Although isn't really fast,as corners go,he's quick and with those long arms he's an outstanding press corner. And those, unlike zone corners, are very hard to find.
Bad coaching, playing predominately zone,in Philly has hurt his reputation somewhat, but I suspect he will be rejuvenated in SF.

Indecision may,or maynot,be my problem

Little, from what he showed last year, may be one of the better blocking WR's the league has to offer. I've personally watch him push the offender and walk him, seen him lay some leveling hits and i've seen him just get his hands on an offender just enough to take him outta the equation.

Now if Little continues to show he can catch the rock (like he magically has seemed to after his "addressing the locker room speech" - he'll shoot himself into the elite WR class. Especially with an offense Norv/Chud will likely install.

Much excited to see this all unfold!

after he talked with Alonzo Mourning over the bye week, Greg Little was one of my favorite players to watch on the Browns.

(that is one of the strangest sentences I have typed on here but it's true)
