I really would have paid some money to listen to that locker room speech of his. Whatever was said, made a difference IMO. A noticeable difference.

I know I'm gonna get run over for even saying this,, But has anyone given a thought to JaMarcus Russell.
He was up to 317 LB's but according to an article on NFL.com, he's lost 37 lbs in two months and is working on losing still more..
I know I know,, total bust,, But to bring him into camp and see what's left,, does it hurt?
losing that weight shows some determination and commitment. so maybe.. what's it going to hurt?
I need to make a correction, he lost 27 lbs,, not 37..

Little is a beast when it comes to blocking. He can destroy a defender. That probably comes from his time as a RB. It would be interesting to see him line up at TE in a 2 TE alignment. Imagine a LB or S trying to stay with Little running down the seam,

By doing that IMO, shows he's out of money and looking to cash in again. I think some teams will bring him into their camps, but I don't think we will. I personally, do not want to even think about JaMarcus suiting up in a Brown's uniform.

In regard to JaMarcus, I have always been of the opinion that this guy is a total terd, I mean first pick and totally IMO never gave the Raiders anything worthy of a first pick. Even Couch as first pick gave us loads more than Russell gave Raiders(I know, a whole other discussion). These are only my thoughts . With that being said, as a browns fan who for last 15 or so years has not seen but a sliver of good qb play on this team, think that there was a reason Russell got picked 1 and that was an athletic ability to play football. Can't help head was not in it can never really be 100 percent sure on these prospects mind set once fame an fortune come there way. Also I am of the utmost belief that some boys take longer to become real men than others, I myself took till lat 20s to fully grasp this concept. Anyway maybe Russell is finally ready after hitting rock bottom. Appears that he is really giving the effort to get back into NFL, and I am all for second chances. Now with the talent and ability he had then and his new found desire you of course bring him in for look-see, if at 28 he still has arm strength and is on way to 260-270 range, you bring him in on no guarantee deal, and let him compete. Really if he can show you this much to earn contract, then it's low risk and very high reward situation. Low risk due to fact that if for one second he doesn't bring it on field or meetings or locker room, you cut his butt right back to unemployment. High reward in sense that if he finally gets head and ability together and works and prepares at his craft like pro, he could be a phenomenal qb. And I know that the chances of this all happening are downright improbable, as a team who has not had a true franchise qb since Bernie, we should be turning over every stone to find our guy. Really same age as Weeden so would be same career length but if stars did align and Russell did become guy much better talent for vertical offense than Weeden. You all may say I am crazy and no way he deserves chance, but after long winded post(sorry) if he becomes the guy it would be worth chance IMO, for franchise qb that we are still looking for.

Yea Vince young always won games, yet I personally never thought he was going to be franchise type qb. His throwing motion always irked me and in today's nfl being more a passing league(whether we like it or not) don't think Youngs passing ability allows him to hold down job even though he wins more than loses. Got to be reason he can't stick with team.......

Run him in a widebody sweep (the ol' swingin' gate) with a huge lineman in the slot or wing and block down. I lov TR's chances outside on anybody. He'd knock their frrakin' helmet right off their . . oh, wait. Nice to imagine, but the penalty thang. Never mind.

Remember hearing former Bill David Nelson was supposed to visit today. IMO would be quality signing if healthy, and at 6'5 great in red zone. Has anyone heard anything about his visit?

Not a word. Just checked the Plain Dealer site and WKYC site and the Browns site. not a peep.
Haven't checked anywhere else however.

Well David Nelson was scheduled to visit yesterday, and I can't find any news on how it went or if we offered a contract. Any updates would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the info gentlemen, hopefully his health checks out, I would love to sign him as a 3rd Wr for our team if not asking for too big of a contract that is.

He began his career in Denver as a FB. Can't remember if he played any FB last year or not, just remember him in as a 3rd down and short yardage back?
anyway there is a ton of talent still out there. Rhodes, Winfield, Harrison, Moss, Daniel Graham, Karlos Dansby, Woodson last count we had 27 mil left, Would love to see some of our guys get wrapped up long term but kinda hard not to want some of the guys still available as well.

I think we have even more now that Gocong and Young were released in addition to McCoy being traded.
I could be wrong though.

Yeah, I think a lot of these veteran guys will sign after the draft. Right now teams are just waiting to see what happens in the draft and then they will fill their holes accordingly.
For example, we need a safety. We will probably look to draft one. If we don't draft one or draft one that is not ready to start, then I expect we would look at Kerry Rhodes.

What about adding charles woodson? I know he's not what he was but i think he'd be an upgrade at safety and he would add leadership to our secondary.

I don't we are the type of team Woodson is willing to sign with. Then again, if we are the only team willing to pay him we become precisely the type of team he is willing to sign with. Old and expensive is not a good combination.
I would guess that he signs with the Ravens or 49ers after the draft.

Maybe Horton could motivate McClain? Who knows but for small contract, would give him a look see. Would he be an OLB/ILB in our D? All for seeing if he could revive his career here, but not sure this is a move we make.

he'd likely be an ILB and challenge JMJ. as long as it's non-guaranteed $$ where we could cut him and not hurt us, then i'd give him a chance.

Why bring in problems. He hasn't been a difference maker on the field, and he's been a headache off the field. No thanks.
