the real thing is they prob passed on Kenyon Barner (highly underrated) and Poyer (could be a cover safety AND a back up CB) and other guys with giving up that pick. Will that mean anything? time will tell. Obviously they felt no one was worth a pick in this round.

For everyone complaining about that trade, have you guys noticed that the guys being talked about the most ...

Rambo, Poyer

are still on the board going into the 5th.

If we get a 3rd next year and still snag our guy, are we still going to complain?

Did I anything bout Jones?? Open your eyes ,we needed a safety.

I'm seriously suggesting they just gave up. They said, we can't find somebody, we'll give up until next year. Sure looks that way.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Not man we lost out on Shamarko, mad we missed out on the NCAA 2012 interceptions leader at our position of greatest need in Philip Thomas.

All things considered, I'm starting to calm down a bit.. it's going to depend on the next pick for me.. and what we do with that 3rd next year.

Niners just took Lattimore.

I had the niners in our DT draft. They must've liked my evaluation (kidding)
Ah, they got better value for him than I did, lol

93. RB Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina - one of my favorite picks, One of the top Rb's in college when healthy. Very strong, powerful...picked him b/c looks like a Frank Gore clone. Just like Frank knee issues in college. Marcus could keep strengthening the knee this year while Gore starts then take over the reins next year.

Heres the skinny on "Big Ben's Replacement"
STRENGTHS Prototypical pocket passer with NFL size. Extremely productive. Can stretch the field with his arm and shows good zip on passes to all parts of the field when his feet are set. Quick release makes him very effective in the short to intermediate passing game. Challenging throws in every start, whether threading the ball versus cover-two or connecting on a back-shoulder pattern.
WEAKNESSES Really struggles when under duress. Feels pressure when it isn't there. Not an elite athlete, takes time to get to hand-off spot from under center. Can move out of the pocket to escape pressure, but is usually caught up in traffic and is brought down too easily in the backfield. Confidence waxes and wanes throughout the game and season. Ball comes out of his hand poorly at times, floating across or down the field. Downfield accuracy is erratic, missing open receivers on the run; also misfires on out routes too often. Inconsistent on his touch on fades or throws over the top of defenders. Looks to the sidelines for pre-snap adjustments, looks to be confused by complex defensive looks.
NFL COMPARISON Matt Cassel
BOTTOM LINE The NFL-sized pocket passer can be decisive and flashes the accuracy to pick apart defenses at the next level. However, his tendency to get rattled under pressure is a major issue. Also, when things start to go downhill, he lacks a short memory; his confidence is shaken. He is also inconsistent in his reads and decision making.

Sounds like he gets spooked and is weak in the pocket. The complete opposite of Ben. I would love to see this kid starting against our new attacking defense.

Maybe the FO and coaching staff feel like this is a roster ready to compete.

And that may ultimately be the case.

I'm not proclaiming this will doom the Browns, I just don't think you trade current draft picks for future ones when the expected return is right around even value.

Will the pick be higher? Well sure, it has to be but Pittsburgh went 8-8, even after surviving a rash of injuries, having to start Charlie Batch and Byron Leftwich 4 times. What is their floor with even a reasonably healthy team? 9-7? Which would slot the pick in the 20's? What is their ceiling? 12-4?

Half a round return (max) is decent but again, waiting 12 months would make that about even value to me, that's my argument. The FO is putting a lot of faith in McFadden and Mingo panning out. If they don't, the picks we actually make in this draft might end up being a complete wash.

We will use it on a more defined need. Lots of question marks this year. The new coaching needs to evaluate all the players they dont know well.

As a Brown's fan, I am loving the Steelers draft. It has flop written all over it. To top it off, we just got a 3rd round pick from them for a 5'8" safety.

Glad we didn't get Wolff. Guy is a big liability in the passing game. Takes really bad angles. He's a solid tackler when he gets it lined up, but he causes a lot of big plays for the other team.

I'm starting to think Cleveland has telegraphed their draft plans. The number of teams jumping in front of us is alaming.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

We didn't get a 2014 3rd rounder. We GAVE THAT PICK AWAY!

At least that's what I've read on this board

Seahawks traded to jump in front of us.

And you're correct, it seems like the Browns have gotten the least amount of air time. Hardly even a mention.

Just a reminder...

The dudes the Steelers selected was not someone the browns brought in for an evaluation.. From what I recall they brought in Don Jones who is likely to still be available in the 5th.

Y'all are being whiners.

If they moved up to get Nassib, we gave up too much and should have waited for him to drop. If we don't trade up, we were stupid not to. If we draft the 5' 9" safety, we're stupid for building such a small secondary. If we trade out for a better pick next year, we're dumb for giving up a future HOFamer.

Some front offices can't win.

Just laughing at everyone saying this is a bad draft so far.

Through 4 rounds, we've gotten:

Mingo, Josh Gordon, McFadden, Bess and a 2014 third rounder. Sounds like a great draft to me thus far. Still picks to go too. Quit being prototypical Cleveland Browns fans.

Totally agree. You have 2 proven guys in Gordon and Bess to boot. People slating this draft are doing it because of who is running the shebang more than because any of the picks are bad.
