Been several articles stating that teammates and friends, etc, didn't feel like Watkins ever really liked playing football, his heart wasn't into it. So no thanks, pass.
CSN Philly's Rueben Frank suspects ex-Eagles first-round pick Danny Watkins' playing days are over. Based on getting to know Watkins in the locker room, Frank believes the 23rd overall pick in the 2011 draft's "heart was (n)ever in football," and Frank thinks Watkins "doesn't like playing the game." This is probably the best explanation for why a player so highly regarded fell flat on his face in the NFL. We're still interested to see if Watkins gets claimed on waivers. linker
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

With KC having some numbers at RB...if they let go of RB Cyrus Gray from Texas A&M...he was talented coming out of college and looked great against the packers a couple nights ago like 10 rushes 80 yards...I do like his speed and cut step (doesn't seem to gear down)

For the past year or so, I've heard that as well. It would need to be investigated but I'm sure Banner has some special insight into the situation...

Beenie Wells is still out there as a running back. I think he could be a good back to spell Richardson as his back up. I am very surprised no team has picked him up. Is he hurt?

I think I've read people speculating about Beanie Wells for 3 straight months. I may be wrong, but if you sign a vet before week 1 their entire salary is guaranteed ... but if you sign them after week 1 it isn't. That may explain why some of them are not being signed. But either way, the NFL is getting younger across the board ... no longer are owners/gms/coaches freely signing anyone that isn't young.

I'm thinking he (Tebow) has the skill set for longsnapper (with practice). Shame he didn't win more games; he had the Victory Formation kneeldown cold. Shurmur School of Offense Avoidance.

j/c...Never gave you a hard time LB...just that you made it sound like the two were cut Nelson n McFadden. Its was a little miss leading.
Yeah I've read a lot about Gurley looking very good even in a SI article about the Browns.
Not sure about OL but I think we should/might/could pick up a Scat Back n ILB from waivers.
Our punter Lansing??? locked up his position I think from his versatile kicking duties as well. We did cut the kid after our game.
Sorry about Nelson but he just couldn't get back fast enough. Hope the kid Gurley sticks...but we will see what happens after Gordon comes back.
I don't think we are desperate for any "STARTERS" which means we will pick up young players with potential n not season veterans who could start.

If released, I would agree that Gray would be a nice pickup. Guys already released that I would consider:
CJ Davis G/T waived by the Broncos - Got some playing time with them last year DJ Williams TE waived by the Packers - Can't run block to save his life but a very good pass catching TE Steven Miller Rb waived by the Lions - Explosive kick returner and scat back.

Was CJ Davis the guard center combo who played at Pitt in college...I remember him being highly touted and an expected 3rd round pick...he fell late or went undrafted...never heard of him since

Yes, and no.
He showed good burst and explosion to the hole. That's a good trait in preseason, or not.

Obviously not done, but roster looks like this:
QB (3) Weeden, Campbell, Hoyer RB (2( Richardson, B.Jackson FB (2) Ogbonnay, Smelley TE (3) Cameron, K.Davis, Barnidge WR (4) Little, Bess, Cooper, Benjamine (Gordon suspended so not counted on 53) OL (12) Thomas, Greco, Mack, Cousins, Schwartz, Lauvao, Pinkston, Shaw, Gilkey, Hauptman, Butler, Wallace
LS (1) Yount P (1) Lanning K (ZERO) obviously a move will be made here, unless Lanning will do both kicking and punting
DL (7) Rubin, Taylor, D.Bryant, Winn, Hughes, Kitchen, A.Bryant LB(10) D'Qwell, Kruger, Robertson, Mingo, Sheard, Fort, Groves, Carder, Hazel, Martin CB (4) Haden, Owens, Skrine, McFadden S (4) Ward, Gipson, Bademosi, Aubrey

Agree on the corners. I think we will add a WR, at least until Gordon's suspension is over.
Looking it over we will probably add at least some of the following...
RB, WR, CB, K. With the OL being the main cut area, and possibly Hazel and/or Martin from the LB's.
I think it's Tuesday when you can designate a player as 'IR to return', I still think that will be either Lauvao or Pinkston, unless they go on season ending IR.
