So...
What are the chances that Auburn would pass Ohio State if they beat 'Bama?

I don't think any. No way Ohio State is 13-0, and gets snubbed by a 1 loss team. But I'm sure Mark May would be all for it.

I've asked this before, if Braxton Miller wins out this year (including post season) where does he rank all time in Buckeyes history?

Another thing, our WRs have grown a TON since two years ago. They're unselfish and they all find ways to contribute. We may not have a dominant #1, although I think Corey Brown is a #1 option, but Devin Smith and Evan Spencer are both awesome. Then you've got an occasional contribution from Chris Fields. Our trio is a bunch of solid uncelebrated guys that just get the job done.
Corey Brown = Jack of all trades Devin Smith = Deep threat Evan Spencer = Big possesion reciever

Well ....... Should .... But I bet that a lot of voters probably won't, and we'll probably hear about how their 42-14 win over a 4-7 Indiana team is completely unimpressive. I mean, after all, look at how FSU destroyed the mighty Idaho Vandals.
Speaking in my best ESPN lingo….wait…#10 Ok State beat #3 Baylor 49-17, so we should move them in front of Ohio St (sarcasm) Actually I'm probably wrong…it's probably going to be all about Auburn
side note……since 2011…ohio state has not lost a game. In that span, 14 teams have moved ahead of them in the polls

Actually, last week I saw in the news that Corey Brown is moving up on the all time list for OSU in different receiving categories. Surprised me

Another one bites the dust. Okay, educate me. Who remains on Florida State's schedule? --Florida, right? They have no chance. --I'm unclear about the ACC Championship game? It will be Duke if they win their game next week, right? Any chance of Clemson getting another shot? That doesn't look good for us. Alabama? They play Auburn next week. There is a chance there, although I think Auburn is not quite ready for a team like Alabama. Then, they will probably play Mizzou. They have a chance, too. Am I right about all of that, or not?

Yeah.
I'm thinking our best chance aside from those teams just flat out losing would be for Clemson to get blasted by South Carolina next week...
They're currently 7th in the BCS, but have zero wins over ranked teams. If both their ranked games ended up in blowouts, they will drop pretty far. FSU's only W in the top 25 is over Clemson.
Even then Ohio State, if they beat MSU, how far would they drop? They'd have 2 losses as well.
I'm telling you, Wisconsin's screwjob at ASU may be keeping OSU out of this game. If they had won that game, OSU would have a clear case for #2 over FSU right now.

He did miss two games this year, but even with that his passing stats are dwarfed by comparisons to yardage leaders like Petty, Manziel, Mariotta, although his QBR is quite high - around 170. He's a great college QB whose skills won't translate very well to the pro game, imo.
I think Roby, Hyde, and Shazier will be NFL players. Shazier was awesome yesterday with 20 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 PD. The guy is just a blur to the ball. I was curious about his size - he looks very lean - and was surprised he is only listed at 6-2, 222lbs. Smallish to play LB in the NFL. I wonder if he's fast enough to play safety ... there's a report he ran 4.35 last year at OSU. Not sure I believe that, but I'm willing to bet he's sub-4.5. Guy might be the next Jack Tatum in the pros, if he has coverage skills.

If McCarron is in the conversation, I don't see why, other than the injury, that miller wouldn't be.

Alabama has 2 tough games to play yet.
They have to go to Auburn and play in a very heated rivalry game. I agree Auburn may not be ready for a team like Alabama. But, the Auburn crown will be a hhostile environment. Remember that the Auburn players always hear in the media that they are not as good as Alabama. They would love to wreck Alabama's chance to play for a national championship game. Auburn has alot to play for theirselves. If they were to beat Alabama and Michigan State were to upset OSU they would be in te drivers seat to play Florida State. Then after Alabama plays that game they will have to not have an emotional let down because they will have to play either Missouri or South Carolina. If SC beats Clemson Bama will have to play a top 10 team either way. in the SEC championship game. That is why the SEC gets so much respect in the media. If they were to win both of those games they will have earned the right to defend their title.
As for Florida State their road look easier but they have to go on the raod to Florida. Florida lost to a a FCS school yesterday but a win over Florida State could salvage a lost season for the Gator players. Probably won't happen but look at OSU and Michigan. Even though OSU is much better how many Buck fans are still feeling uneasy going up north next week. Then they will have to play either Duke or Virginia Tech in the ACC title game.
Florida State's biggest obsticle remaining is probably the legal issue of Winston. Even if they win out if Winston gets charged the voters could vote OSU ahead of a Florida State team that will be missing their QB in the championship game. Ohio State beating Michigan State will gain some ground SOS wise on Florida State in the BCS if they beat Michigan State and Clemson loses to South Carolina but the only way they pass Florida State is if Florida State loses a game or OSU passes them in the Harris and/or coaches poll.
Alot can still happen and 1 loss teams like Auburn, Missouri, Clemson, Michigan State can now see possible day light to the title game theirselves. Heck, look back a couple years when West Virgina and Missouri were in with wins last game of the year. Both lost and OSU and LSU who thought they had no chance played for the title. Should still be a fun 2 weeks.

Alabama is certainly the more likely of the two to get beat. The two teams they have left to play (Auburn and most likely Mizzou) both are match up nightmares for the Bama D. Take the Texas A&M game as a blue print. Like A&M they both have spread up temp attacks. Like A&M they have mobile quarterbacks. Like Texas A&M they have physical wide outs that can get off physical jams. Like Texas A&M they have a good interior run game. I can totally see Bama going down to either one. I hope they don't as an SEC guy, but it very well could happen.

Florida will be a tough game for FSU. They still have tremendous talent on that defense. Jameis will play his worst game of the year versus them.
Unfortunately Florida is a train wreck everywhere else.

Interesting facts:
Nick Saban is 0-5 when facing a 9-win Auburn team.
In the entire history of the Iron Bowl, Alabama is 1-11 when Auburn has won at least 10 games.

I disagree... I think several voters would put them over OSU at least in the polls... don't know if they would jump them in the BCS though because of the computer rankings... but the human polls I could easily see them jump over OSU... espeically depending on how the game goes... they lost to a #6 LSU on the road by two TDs... that's huge... but they have beaten three top 25 one of those #6 on the road... if they beat #1 overall handedly I could see them getting a lot of votes in the human polls...

Florida will be tough?!?!
Florida is going to get killed... I agree they have some talent but they just lost to Georgia Southern... AT HOME... with Georgia Southern never throwing a pass!!!
FSU gets a crappy UF and then most likely friggin Duke in their championship game... they BY FAR have the easiest remaining schedule... really only played one tough team (Clemson), but unfortunately they destroyed them at their house... I don't see any way they lose and though E agree that I think overall the Buckeyes have a comparable if not better SOS the voters will not drop FSU to 3...
Note: though looking back at FSU's schedule, I forgot that they actually played three ranked teams with two in the top 10 (Though Miami was vastly over-rated).

I think our season is done so I'll do a mock once a month.
Free Agency:
Resign TJ Ward, Alex Mack and extend Joe Haden.
Walter Thurmond, CB, Seattle - Recently got in trouble with PEDs. I think he's talented, but doesn't get a chance to shine in Seattle. I don't think he'll cost too much.
Ben Tate, RB, Houston - The answer at RB.
Draft:
1. Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson 1. Blake Bortles, QB, UCF 2. Yawin Smallwood, ILB, UCONN 3. James Hurst, OT, UNC 3. Anthony Steen, OG, Alabama 4. Jared Abbrederis, WR, Wisconsin 4. Charles Sims, RB, WVU 5. Arthur Lynch, TE, Georgia 6. Ricardo Allen, CB, Purdue 7. Trey Millard, FB, Oklahoma
This is what I think is most likely to happen, but not 100% what I want to happen. Major upgrades and infusion of talent for the offense.

Bortles is my top choice at Qb.
Overall really like that draft.
I would love to be able to find a way to weasel out CJ Mosley instead of Smallwood but don't see how we could do that without giving up Bortles or Watkins. How does Smallwood compare to Bullough from Michigan St?
I like Tate as a RB but I do not think that he is the answer. A talented runner but always getting banged up pretty good whenever he gets any significant amount of carries. I woud rather try to grab an ILB in FA then go with K'deem Carey, Marion Grice or Andre Williams in round 2 or 3.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Unless Winston is in jail by then, I'll give you Florida and 30.. if he is in jail I'll only give you 14...
Interesting weekend.. Baylor played their way out of it, Oregon showed they can't handle anybody that doesn't want to play football like a track meet.. Manziel, Mariota and Petty took whatever interest was remaining out of the Heisman race. Murray's draft stock just plummeted with a torn ACL, 2-3 round pick just became 4.
The two biggest things left to watch in college football are Alabama vs Auburn and Jameis Winston vs the Tallahassee criminal justice system.

It's pretty funny how little coverage from the sports media this Winston story is getting....
Even the Cam Newton stuff from Auburn's run in 2010 got more run.

I'd like to get a franchise QB in free agency, but the market isn't always that generous

Jay Cutler may be available, but I don't really know if that's a road we should go down. I do think his skills fit what we need, but I just don't know if they want a guy with age + injury issues. He has missed time 3 straight years.

If you look at the video, it seems that it could have worked. I didn't watch the game but the RB looks like he might have made it into the end zone.

No, nobody on the Browns has ever held their block that long on a running play.

What did those two do, block with their eyes closed? How can you not see the blue uniform and orange helmet and realize somethings wrong?

What's funny, is that they were even blocking at all. They gave up 400+ yards on the ground to an FCS school and lost. I would think nobdoy was even trying out there.
How bad do you think FSU is going to roll Florida? What's the line?

The info site I use has it at -7. There are a few other books that have it around the same. Some have it off the board. Do they think an arrest is going to be made this week or something?

LVH, the most respected book in Vegas, has it off the board right now.
If it really comes out as only 7, that's a really strange line.

I use Covers and they are very respectable and tend to reflect the trends from internet and vegas.
I'm confused at it. I understand rivalry game, and I somewhat believe the phrase when so and so get together "throw away the records" but this game has lopsided written all over it.

The fix is in. Florida lost to Georgia Southern and their players were blocking each other. What would Florida want to do with this season more than ruin FSU's season... But then, why would they want Urban Meyer to play for a championship? Where's the :conspiracy: smiley?
