Van Noy for inside I presume? I'd be ok with that.

My preferences are really 1a and 1b - Matthews and Su'a-Filo. I think they're both perfect fits - for WCO and ZBS, respectively. Though, obviously Lee is a fit as well, considering he played in WCO at USC. I just want a bigger WR than Lee is.

We traded away 1 3rd and our 5th round picks.

Yep. As much as I want another CB to finish the back end of the defense, if we could get Lee, I would be thrilled with this draft. That would give us 2 impact starters, and a QB to develop.

And another first next year...

Yeah, an extra 1st and an extra 4th. Wow. if someone had told me that we would get Manziel and Gilbert, PLUS a 1st and 4th next year ...... all for the cost of a 3rd and a 5th ...... man, Farmer did a really nice job so far.

Obviously we don't know how these guys will ultimately turn out, but he sure appears to have hit the marks so far.

I still would rather have Watkins, but I'm glad they got a 1st and 4th for next year to work with.Pretty aggressive moves by Ray,and i can't wait to see what he does tomorrow.

Although I wanted/hoped for Watkins, I was not surprised at the trade down. I was surprised at the JFB selection. Really had me thinking they were going second round with the QB. What I do not think many are even considering, during the heat of the draft, is the financial aspect of it.

1- we save about a mil per position by dropping back to 8
2- we still save and gain the extra fifth year for the QB so we can red shirt him and still get 4 solid years to see if he can pan out.

That's going to be big savings on cap space later. Also, by taking a "potential" shut down corner, they cover themselves if they get in a bind and are unable to come to terms with what Haden is going to be asking after the Marshall contract.

Just some side thoughts as we move through the draft.

Go Ray, we still need a WR, OL, SS, and maybe a RB and DL depth.

Hears to hoping Dorsey is the Browns Ozzie Newsome.
