Chances...chances...what? Haslam said he will give thes young guys a chance. What??? He either has more money than reported or less brains. I'm not sure which.
Gordon has had chances. He wants OUT of Cleveland. He wants to play on a Super Bowl team and he is stupid enough to thnk he is helping himself. Who will take the chance?
Manziel just lacks skill, brains, character, values and a good work work ethic. Ditch him......he will eat this team alive. He is a cancer in the locker room.
Gilbert has some promise. He may come along with some time.
Missing meetings, tardiness and apathymis inexcusable by any standards.
If college gradutes couldn't do their jobs after months of observation, practice and mentorship, they would not have a job. What does it take for these guys making millions to be accountable for their actions, choices and work ethic or lack thereof?
They canned Tate, why do the rest of these losers remain?
Haslam needs to stop wasting his money on these losers who perpetuate a loser mentality in the locker room.
Also, stop putting stock in what these loser scouts and talent evaluators recommend. Someone out there has to be capable of a better job than what we have seen here.
As a season ticket holder of 21 years, I will seriously reconsider wasting my valuable funds on this hot mess of a team.
Haslam calls out the team....I believe he needs to call himself out, grow a pair and can these losers......Manziel and Gordon.
Connor Shaw showed me he has more on the ball than Manziel will EVER have. Gheeez, what a total loser!!!
Good luck Browns fans, we will certainly need it......yet again.

So the starter comes from a veteran. Via a trade, I don't think so. That requires the approval of the player. No decent QB wants to be traded to Cleveland. S Where do you get that any player has to approve a trade? I doubt that many NFL contracts have any such clauses. MLB deals are rife with such things ..... but not in the NFL. A player can say that he will retire, or that he will not re-sign, or alter his contract with a certain team, or even just that he doesn't want to go to a certain team, but very few players can decide where they might go if they are traded.

Seems like you are saying the same thing I am. If a player doesn't want to be traded to a particular team there are multiple ways his agent can get him out of the trade. Not the least of which is saying his client won't play for the team. If we are talking trade, we are talking a QB who likely has a number of interested parties. Maybe I am wrong but I cant think of a recent instance where a team has traded for a QB and the latter has said I don't want to go there but I have no choice. Probably the closest was Eli Manning going to San Diego and that wasn't a trade it was the draft. And how did that end up, he went where he wanted to.

Nate Ulrich ‏@NateUlrichABJ 47s48 seconds ago #Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said if those guys can't grow up & be responsible to team & fans, "then they won't be with the Cleveland Browns." 0 replies 0 retweets 0 favorites Reply Retweet Favorite
Scott Petrak ct ‏@ScottPetrak 1m1 minute ago More from Haslam: we're going to give them a chance, we're going to work w/them, hopefully they grow up. if can't, they won't be #Browns. I got text messages last night from a feed that supplies them from MK Cabot. She reported that and it did my heart good. Top down, the organization seems to be taking a hard line. Pettine made some tough statements in the post game presser snipet I heard.. Good to hear.. They'll either grow up and produce or we'll find others that will

j/c...
1. Coaching Staff is not going anywhere unless Pettine and Farmer decide.
2. Many fire Tabor, That has been my line for the last several years. This year I actually thought he did a good job. We had a FG kicker that sucked. We had guys who couldn't handle punts for some reason. outside of that We blocked FGs, we blocked a punt. I thought our Coverage units were great. For me I thought he did a good job for once.
3. Haslam the only report I saw stated as fact is that 2013...prior to this Regime, Banner/Lombardi had a trade set up with the 49ers, for a Starter and a 2nd round pick - Haslam nixed that deal. I think could be confirmed cause either Lombardi or Banner leaked it.
As for the Manziel pick, that is just speculation by some no truth yet to the rumor, it shouldn't be stated as fact. Belief? sure believe it to be so if you wish...we won't know till it comes out. Usually after the Regime is no longer here.
4. So this Regime will go to year 2, It tied the best record for a 1st year by a new Regime. This organization after the purge of Chud n staff was in shambles. Good job I know we did leave a lot of games out there that we coulda/shoulda won. Still I thought an excellent beginning.
5. Hoyer unfortunately was part of the 7-4 failure to finish. I'm on the fence for us to bring back or not. I rather hame him as a veteran BACK UP. But I'm sorry a QB to be good (not talking great but GOOD) has to be accurate. He was not and I'm not talking about the few times he was being hit or rushed to throw. I'm talking about times with time in the pocket where he just was terrible in his accuracy. On the same hand I'm not sure JM is the solution. I know his potential is still good, I don't know if he has the mental fortitude to overcome his deficiencies.
6. Shanny...I'm also on the fence. I thought his decision to put in place a Manziel O that nobody was that familiar with was a mistake. All he had to do was Dummy down the playbook used by Hoyer and all were familiar with put in a few things tailored to JM maybe a Draw more boot leg. Unless we get a QB who is 6'4" + and 240 lbs + - he can take that Playbook he made for RG3 and wanted to use for Manziel and flush it down the toilet. It was about us winning and he set up an environment that could do nothing but LOSE, ALL on the O were in an Unfamiliar environment and the was so so clear!
So if he stays I think it would be good for the team for continuity...but if he goes I will not cry, there are a lot of Outside or just Zone Blocking scheme Offenses with a lot of pay action. We could bring one in with similarities. Again I would like to go forward with NO CHANGE.
7. The 3...I think if we get an offer for Gordon we would highly consider to pull the trigger, I for one would wish him gone. JM is not going to get anything much in an offer. Gilbert either. Plus those are this Regimes signature first draft investments....they will be afforded at least another season. But because of their immature antics...their rope will not be a long one.

Gilbert wasn't taken as a "flyer"! You may throw him out but I'm not willing to yet. Gilbert has received more criticism from teammates and coaches than any other player on the Brown's roster. More than Gordon. More than Manziel. Gilbert said he would rather sleep than study like Williams has. Gilbert cane across as resentful, sullen, and insincere when questioned about his teammates comments. Gilbert was punished for being late to Saturday's practice....you know...after he said he was going to work hard. Unlike Manziel, Gilbert was actually supposed to play in the game. Not sure why you are defending that turd, but I can't let it slide.

I agree with a lot of your post, Eo. I just feel little, if any, pressure or inclination to prop up this Gang of Three much further at all. I am trying to see the legitimate upside the FO and Haslam see of benefit in the future. Three misbehaving brats who are full of themselves, screw their team, and don't prepare. They are projects at the least.
Tired of projects. Especially if they distract and sidetrack best efforts going forward. Hindsight should be both reliable and 20-20. I would be looking for offers on all three. Just that bad. Keeping them negates communicating where the bars are set. Obviously fines do not matter.
The Bigs — participate as a privilege. I am not willing to lose relentlessly while they decide if they will grow up and play hard football.

Shanny...I'm also on the fence. I think Shanny is the best coach on the staff and it ain't even close. I believe he is an excellent designer of plays. I think his play-calling masked a lot of inadequacies this year. I hope he isn't offered a HC job somewhere else, like San Fransisco. We will be a lot worse if we lose Shanny's brilliance!

As always everyone has their opinion.
I saw some of the same good, why I didn't say he has to go, why I would prefer continuity.
I do contest that his decision to change so much of the Offense when we went with JM at a very crucial moment of our season. Also to replace a NONE INJURED Starter...I thought that was just a terrible mistake. If fate has it that Shanny is offered a step up coaching job, I would be surprised, I won't "CRY" over it. Thats me.
I thought for the most part he created excellent "SPACE" called good plays - we had WRs open all over the place all season. I thought we could have designed more traps or something to get the running game going. I think he has much more awareness in what he is creating in the Air game, as said he had excellent spacing all year - I thought he did not show the same excellence in creating a running game.
I saw games where the game plan was attack the outside edge...play after play we would do the same pitch to the outside and if we got a yard it was successful. Just didn't have the same heart in his Run game...and that run game was a very very important factor of this Offense.
I'm afraid he might not be as brilliant as you think. Then again I could be wrong.
