Maybe I see this a little differently. Did the Browns announce there would be a change? Yes they did. Was there a change? Yes there was.

All of the hype, speculation and build up to this was created by the press and extrapolated by the fan base.

Pretty much sums it up for me.

The 2 year hype has been about uniform changes, not logo changes. I will withhold judgment on whether this was a waste of my time and interest until after the uniforms come out.

I would almost rather they came out with an ugly logo that don't really like..

Because then I'd be able to form some sort of opinion..

To be honest, I've always been one of the traditionalists regarding the team's look. When change became a fait accompli, I came around, and even got a little excited about it. I found myself thinking: "hey... a Browns version of the Seahawks makeover might actually be cool..."

With today's unveiling, my expectations have been dampened somewhat. AND if the 'new' unis reflect the same degree of change as the logo, well... I'd be inclined to think that they should have just left the whole thing alone.

Guess we'll see soon enough, eh?

*Sigh*....this isn't the first knock and won't be the last of tthem, I'm sure.

The new Browns logo is ADORABLE

So after all these teases we are finally going to see the new Browns logo! The football world has waited with bated breath over what logo we will get. Will they change the helmet? Will they put the dog on the helmet? Will they use the Brownie again? Will they change the dog? Will they really change anything? It’s time to find out!

Oh…so it’s just the current helmet but now with a Brown facemask. Okay, I guess we got a little too hyped up there. Wait, something feels odd about the Orange, did they just take it into Photoshop and up the saturation levels?

THEY DID. Okay, whatever. Maybe they wanted an Orange that was brighter and looked more like the Bengals orange. It’s a sort of pointless change but they are probably going to be using this new orange in the new uniform and it’s not too different, I’m on board with this.

I wonder what they did with the dog logo, though. I hope they made it angrier. The dog should represent the die-hard loyalists of Cleveland who hunger for a real victory, who show up to every game every year despite the same low-level of play. They are tough. Cleveland fans are tough. The Dawg pound deserves a tough, old, proud dog. Alright, Nike, what have you got?

I'd rather have people making fun of us for our logo than our QB who is in rehab, our most talented player being suspended for a year, our GM illegally texting during games, our owner being caught up in a scandal, our not having made the playoffs in an eternity, etc. etc.

I'm happy it wasn't something completely stupid or embarrassing. I'll take the mocking over the 'no change, change'. Personally I'm not much for change when it comes to this part of our tradition. Now I do wonder if they are going to screw the pooch and add grey pants why bother with the brown face mask? I mean at that point grey will be part of our new color scheme. (Because we all know how well brown and grey go together...deep sarcasm.) So why remove it now. My hope is removing the grey facemask is a sign of no further grey to come.
As to the desire for a logo. Why do we need a logo? Isn't wearing Browns gear enough? Do you really need an angry looking dog or some other thing? I guess I don't get it. Though I only own a couple hats and a Tshirt. It's not as though I'm longing to spend $100+ to add to a jersey collection. Maybe for those of you that do, this 'no change, change' is going to save you some ¢hange.

I think it has more to do with us being tired of the front office blowing smoke up our asses.

It would be nice if they would actually follow through with what they say they are going to do just once.

I was actually hoping for a NEW logo..

I'm not to big on hats that just say "BROWNS" or have the helmet logo on them..

Though I have 3 of them...

I'm kind of relieved that there were no major changes to the logo. I'd like the Dawg Pound dog to be more menacing, but I get the whole image thing as well.

I'm just not sure what people really want. We're the Browns. After Paul Brown. How do you capture that in a logo? We're not dogs. While that may be a mascot it's not our team name so it's wierd to have it added to our uniform in any meaningful way. I'm not sure how wearing a dog on my hat is 'The Browns'. So then what? Everyone hated the idea of the leaked Paul Brown logo. But realistically that would be the most appropriate. So what do you all want to have emblazoned on ties, and shirts, and hats?

Please stop ignoring this joke. It is perfect.

Next year we plan to spend $75,000 to study what color the lines on the field should be only to determine that the NFL mandates they be white.

I mean, I hated that <B> logo.. But it was something that wasn't just the helmet as the logo...

I agree Mac. People complaining over minor changes when the general opinion was they didn't want major changes. Go figure? But typical.


As for the dawg logo....who cares? Only children really care about cartoon images. That's the one they picked. I is no lamer then any other they could have selected.


Actually, the orange is closer to the orange used in the 60's. I am good with that. It seemed a bit pastel before this change.

I am curious as to what people expected/wanted the new logo to look like.

The Browns changed the color, changed the color of the facemask, and changed the font on the name.

What did people want them to do? Completely change the logo to a person? Maybe they could have used a silhouette of Paul Brown, who the world would have laughed about, saying it looked like Tom Landry ..... and who the Bengaks would ave complained about. Now I wouldn;t have minded something liek a silhouette of a player, all in black, witht he Browns helmet in full color, but that would have been a fairly significant change.

Frankly, though,I like the helmet as our logo, so I am not really disappointed at all. I really like the new Dawg Pound logo. All in all, I am quite pleased.
