You sound like our HS baseball coach from back in the day. His name was Joe Bowers.

The students/bb team gave him a nickname:

"Juice."

Yelling like that in baseball? Different sport shouldn't be much yelling.

Juice...lol laugh spit flying vein popping is an illustration more that literal. No I was never a sllllrrrrr motivational speaker....lol laugh

Now in baseball there sure was a lot of chewing. I tried it as a freshman and puked all night long! Cause I was taught not to spit...so I swallowed...lol sick

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Since he has not been released I do not think he can visit other teams yet.

Amen. Oh how I do want to get a resolution to this quarterback mess. I'm not sure we'll have anything to talk about if we ever do.

I'd rather have neither one of the bums.

Hoyer isn't the answer... and screwing around with him for another season just puts us one more year behind.

Somebody has to play qb. And truthfully, I don't see anyone in free agency that is an improvement over Hoyer, as said as that is to say.

I say sink or swim with manziel. He either gets it at some point or plays so bad we get a high enough draft pick to draft a better QB next season.

This year just build the rest of the team up. Get a WR, DT, and C/OG with our first 3 picks.

That is a risk that I would be unwilling to take.

It would only provide you and others future fodder for posting.

The Job 1 is to find the QB, until you find the QB the Browns will not be very good team. I do not care who the QB is, but if you put all of the cards in the Manziel bin, that is foolishness.

There is no QB in this draft worth taking IMHO that we can realistically get. There are no free agent QB's worth a darn either. We are in for a crappy season.

You might as well give the helm to johnny and see what the boy can do. Sink or swim. It will provide the best chance of a good season. Manziel can be a good QB if he has matured some. It's not like he is devoid of talent. Least if we give him a full season as a starter we will have a much better idea where we need to go in the future.

The QBs in this draft just think too slow for me to like any of them outside of the top 2. I don't think those 2 are worth two draft picks to move up and get them either IMHO.

Manziel, who was expected to be in rehab at least a few weeks, has already exceeded predictions on his length of stay.

A source said the Browns are tentatively expecting Manziel to participate in training camp but are not placing any timetables on other off-season activities as Manziel works through his treatment process.

Don't be surprised when Manziel starts the season on IR.

I disagree wholeheartedly. I don't think we are that desperate to go all in on Manziel blindly. This franchise doesn't exist for the sole benefit of Manziel and his career. He needs to earn it just like... The other 52 other players who need developed and given an opportunity to gain experience in the systems being put in place.

I've never understood this concept that you can build a winning franchise by tanking a season. I'm not saying it's a given that Manziel would flop, but I'm not on board with is being fine if he does because it gives us a high draft pick. Yay! We went 3-13 and pick #2 this year! I guarantee that the #2 pick still won't be good enough to account for the quality players who leave instead of re-signing, or the FA's who will refuse to come here.

Even though he slid at the end of the season.. we still went 7-9. IMO 7-9 and 9-7 aren't much different because there's always at least 2 games in a season that could go either way... and we certainly had those this year. Hoyer may not take us to the Super Bowl, but if we retain him for at least one more year I think at minimum we have another 7-9/9-7 season and I think there is plenty to support that. On top of that, we have a new OC who is going to build off of last years scheme. Who better to implement that: the guy who has competently executed the last 2 O schemes we've had and who the rest of the team rallies around, or the kid who ran a limited O in college and was unprepared Week 15 after admitting he didn't take the season seriously enough? Having a near .500 record is more beneficial long term than gambling on 1 player.

I don't think we'll get a legit shot at either Winston or Mariota...whether people want to is a completely separate issue.

In 2015, we go into the season like this (IMO)

1. Veteran QB signed in FA
2. Johnny Manziel
3. mid-to-late developmental QB taken in draft.

This isn't earth shattering info though, I know.

The article does a pee poor job of explaining how it arrives at their conclusion that he's "exceeded predictions"... because they don't. To my knowledge no one has given a prediction in the first place.

Some dude named Scott Brand, who works for the "Miami Health Examiner", writes an article with UN-NAMED SOURCES.

Gotta throw the "BS flag" on this story...

This is from a story written by Mary Cabot for Cleveland.com where she names several sources..this paragraph is from her story...

How Johnny Manziel raised his hand and volunteered to go to rehab

"Generally, inpatient treatment begins with a 28-30 day program, but it's individualized and can last two or three times that long depending on the nature of the addiction or other issues being addressed. Some patients are treated for a dual diagnosis of substance abuse and psychological issues, which normally requires a longer stay."

link

Clearly Mary Kay's story does not put any time line on how long JM's rehab will be. It's just a bad story written by a lazy author.

As Cap City stated, against the rules for him to negotiate or talk or visit teams. Now possibly his agent is setting things up once the NFL Fiscal year Ends/Starts and he is a FA.

But Team n Player contact of any direct format is forbidden.

There usually is no answer to the QB position via FA. You can better your temp starter?

Its all about the draft. JM will get his opportunity.

Cutler if cut would become the best "TALENT" probably but do we want that. Cause signing him would me to commit to start him. Is he the answer?

jmho - JM and a Mid round talent? But all I know is the Franchise guy more than likely will be via a kid from the draft.

If Brian Hoyer had started for a different team last season and had the same production..

Would anyone want him?

I think the reference to exceeding the amount of time for JM to be in rehab is not based on planned treatment course by medical professionals but that a lot of people expected this to be for show and JM to sign himself out after only a week or two.

I am extremely encouraged that Manziel seems to be taking this seriously. I think that the kid has talent, and if he gets his head on straight, he could be a quality starter for us. This is the 1st step, and it is a vital one.

Hoyer is not some bright and shining star. Several of us warned of the impending meltdown concerning Hoyer.

I think our only hope is if Manziel does well.

I agree. Serious talk about a two-year contract, start this season, incentives. Put this question mark to bed. McQuestionmark is not the answer.
