So obviously we should of just paid him a boatload of money to stay here and be unhappy and stuff...

He also said he has been watching film of himself from last season with his new coaches and they have pointed out some flaws with his hand technique and that he wasn't finishing plays. I think he is poised to have a great year with NE. Sounds like he needed a change.

He doesn't sound like he would have stayed here for any amount of money. Sounds like he really wanted out. Picked a good place to come. He said 2 other teams showed interest but he never went for an interview.

The problem being, if you actually knew the true feelings of everyone in the locker room and followed that logic, the cupboard would probably be pretty bare.

I mean how many players do you really think are happy being here with the constant turnstile in the FO and coaching staff? I'm sure there are many more who share the sentiment of Sheard. You just won't hear about it until after they leave.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

And that's what the Draft and FA are for..

Someone leaves, you replace them..

There are only a small select group of players currently on the Browns that I would be really upset if they left..

None of them play QB, because until we get a QB, almost none of it matters..

If we can get a QB, and I don't even nessecarily mean a Top 5 Franchise guy.. just A QB that we believe can be the guy moving forward.. Like a Ryan Tannehill type..

Until we get him, and keep him, a coaching staff, and FO in place for 3+ years.. Players are going to come and go..

Someone said earlier about how NE, Pitt, Baltimore, etc all lose players every year.. The only difference is they have a QB.. they have a system or whatever you want to call it place.. And regardless of what skill player leaves, or who they draft, they still contend..

Because they have a Quarterback.

All the players that leave this mess in Cleveland are gonna be much happier. Who wouldn't? Good luck to both Sheard and Rubin! How much better does it get not only leaving the hell hole that is Cleveland but going to winning organizations such as NE and Seattle.

I believe one main ingredient is missing from the points you made. You are correct in the points you made with one huge exception. In the case of those highly successful teams you mention, it's not the players who don't want to be there. It's the FO and coaching staff making the decisions of who to keep and pay, and who not to keep and pay.

I believe what we were discussing is how many players that we drafted are probably looking forward to their first chance to hit the FA market so they can go elsewhere. Players who are unhappy with the consistent turnover within the coaching staff and FO. Players who would love to go to the very type of teams you mentioned.

To me that's where the issue lies. Once you build a team like NE, you have a wealth of players who want to come there. Your FO and coaching staff has tons of choices they can make. Here, the players want to leave. I think the contrast there is huge.

Yeah.. You're right about that..

Winning cures all.

I've always said the HC/FO that finally becomes successful here may not nessecarily be the best we've ever had, they will just be the ones lucky enough to be here when we find a QB...

Hell, SFs FO put out recently that they let Harbaugh go because they "got away from what they wanted to be as an organization" (paraphrasing)

They went to 3 NFC Title games, 1 SuperBowl.. And their worst season was 8-8...

How terrible. Better change something..

We have a very talented team

We are an Andy Dalton/Ryan Tannehill away from being a consistent playoff contender every year..

We are an Andrew Luck away from making the AFC Title game every year, possibly making the Super Bowl..

It's why I was so interested in Nick Foles, or why I'd trade multiple first for a Brees/Rivers type..

We need a QB. I don't care who he is.. once we find a QB, everything else will fall into place..

How in the world does any organization give Richardson any guaranteed money? haha Really? God only the Raiders, which might possibly be a dumber organization than this one.

Why I'm so happy we got a regime that is going to stay here for a while. That type of negative feedback that comes with change, change, change is an obvious these kids had to suffer. As long as the buck stops here...we are ok.

Shame his timing was off. I also don't think he fit their scheme. He was only playing 2 point for 2 years and for two different schemes - I'm sure it was tough on him.

jmho - he'll do well with the Pats. Good luck n Good Health.

There is a long story associated with McClain.

In order for him to be successful, he has to be carefully handled. He failed at Oakland and Baltimore, but was very good in Dallas. He probably works better with a team located in the south.

I don't see Cleveland being a fit.

You are so sure they are sticking around huh? You should know better than saying that by now. 2 years and out is the norm in Cleveland and as bad as this year could be expect a new regime in 2016.

Actually I've been positive every season. But only the last couple have I been saying this is finally a team of destiny! Cause its been the first with a foundation of drafted/UDFA players. We never had that.

So you can rofl all you want. Be the interpreter of MY OPINION after all you know it better than I.

Nobody likes losing - its rather simple I don't choose to look at the possible GLOOM & DOOM of the team I root for with all my heart. That is the way I do fandom - yeah I know I give hope to those who read cause I actually use LOGIC n Football in my arguments. I can see you n others say why should I believe EO it has never come to fruition before. But never before have I stated this is a team of destiny...I think I started putting that in print last year...but started saying it with Chud. We rebooted but the foundation is there to build a winning organization. Continuity and QB where the two biggest missing links.

I think we have the means for continuity now. QB is still a search for that Holy Grail.
jmho we are not distance away from great things. Your choice to believe...but I have Football Arguments in my corner for the Present and Future. You bring mostly rofl and a history as your claim to the present.

So if we have sucked in the past...we must always suck in the present. No way around it...so we are forever stuck in purgatory. No way out. The voice of Logic? nah...just Misery talking. Not the way I will ever look at. Every season is new. Pettine is the key to this if you don't see it. What can I do/say. To each their own.

Even more important we are losing a good man, a good family man. a man who was good for the community, and a man who really wanted to finish out his career in Cleveland. Goodbye and good luck my friend, you will be missed. frown

You talking about Rubin or Cribbs?

They come, they go, it's part of the game. We can wish them well as we wave goodbye but we will always be waving goodbye to someone.

When you know them and their family on a person level you take it a bit more personal bro.

I certainly admire your enthusiasm even though I'm not quite on board with your math. There are a couple of ingredients I really have my reservations about.

The patience of Haslam. I certainly have my reservations whether or not Haslam will have the patience to see things to their fruition. Unless and until we have a QB, we will not really be able to turn things around. At this point, I certainly don't see that QB on the roster.

Destiny is a fickle mistress.

Will this guy ever. just. go. AWAY?

I hate the Steelers, but I don't think I have ever hated one of their players more than I hate this guy!

My Steeler friends just love how he plays. It shows how much class they have as well....

Can't stand Harrison ... but I also can't stand some of our own guys (for different reasons)

The Steelers keep on keepin on

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Seems like in the NFL you have to find ways to cheat to win. Whether it be a cheating mastermind coach in Belichick or a roided up headhunter in Harrison.

Suh or Harrison are guys that fans love to hate unless they are playing for your team.

I wouldn't Harrison because he has played for Pitt, but I would have loved loved loved to have Suh here. If I were a GM, I would definitely not steer clear of guys that play a little dirty. Sorry, just being honest. I'm tired of getting laughed at by other fans and rooting for a constant loser.

I said that with tongue implanted in cheek eo. I admire your positive thinking, but I still see the team as the eternal "Titanic." I can say that I like the head coach for the first time since Butch's first and second year. I am worried that our "texting" GM is in way over his head. With that said, I am also hoping he isn't over his head. Until we get a real QB all this debate is just wasted energy.
P.S.
The owner scares the heck out of me. I don't think he is playing with a full deck.

Browns interested in Rob Housler

Housler is basically a poor man's Jordan Cameron. He has 1,133 receiving yards in four years. He had only nine receptions for 129 yards last year, despite playing in 15 games. He ran a fast forty at the combine and can't block.

The best I would offer him is the veteran's minimum.

Great. We'll hit him on the head and put him on the bench to watch. It'll be like Cameron never left.

I know you are joking, but signing Housler would be a move betting on his uptapped potential and possible misuse in the Cardinals offense.

Catching 1,133 yards...double check who the QBs were!! I wonder if 2/3 of those yards came in the first half last season!!

Why are Heath Miller types frowned upon? Remember Browns are keying on run scheme. Pass catching TE is more a specialty. Having a TE who can play hybrid is more what Farmer really wants.
