No. And I'm not sure I want it to be either. Just like the NBA playoffs, I was too nervous for it to start. I kind of like not knowing what will happen because I can't be upset yet.

I almost puked when we drafted Weeden. I've been known to read about movies before going to see them because I want to know is going to happen.

Bradford...........cost is high and not a sure thing.
Mariotta..............cost is enormous and not a sure thing.
Johnny...............no further cost, but the odds of success are miniscule.
All three options suck. Had we made the right move last year, we would NOT be having a qb discussion. I am at the point where I say this:
Do not compound your initial mistake by making an even bigger one because you are trying to fix that first mistake. vers..totally agree about the Browns "compounding" the situation by trying to make a risky move this year...be it Mariota or Bradford.
As for Johnny, let's wait and see if he is on the roster after the draft.
The option that makes the most sense is to wait until round 2 or maybe 3 and draft the best QB available. ...Grayson, Petty, Hundley, Mannion.
Another option to keep in mind is next years draft could be much stronger at the QB position.

I don't think anyone is really against getting Bradford, the issue, as always is , "At What Cost?". And what assurances and/or backup plan do we have, if he drops in pre-season again.
If we do end up getting Bradford, I don't even care if we get him for a 7th rounder, include "offset language" in the deal to protect us from his fragility and health risk. I will never understand any desire to give away a first round pick to take a fragile, recovering QB who clearly doesn't want to be here and has only played average ball for 3 of the five seasons he's been in the league. Because average QB play would produce wins for the Browns the past 2 years If he's on a gurney, how does he qualify as even average LOL Correct. Add to that: If he's "so good" - or even "average", why did the Rams trade him? And, why is he being shopped now? And why aren't other teams clamoring for him? No way do the Rams let him out of the building if there was any reason to believe he could still be what they wanted. That would be dumb. And Fisher is anything but dumb. But to be fair, we don't know if he is really being shopped. I mean heck, it's all media reports. Nobody is standing up saying it's real And if he is being shopped, there is no guarantee that we are the only team interested. I'm not even certain we are interested. I think Fisher said we inquired about Bradford so I guess that it demonstrates interest. But that's about it. I guess in a few hours we'll know right? LOL

If we can get Fletcher Cox, Mychal Kendricks and Sam Bradford for number 19 as NFL.com is reporting, then that works for me!

I would give up the #12 for Bradford, Cox and Kendricks....
Holy crap would that be one hell of a return.
Get a starting QB along two QUALITY defensive players...
Adding Fletcher Cox (Along with our addition of Starks) eliminates the need for drafting a 3-4 defensive lineman early. Kendricks is one of the fastest and most athletic linebackers in the entire NFL and really came on strong near the end of last season. Him, Robertson, Kirksey and Dansby would probably be the deepest and most athletic set of ILB's in the entire league.

jack...the way I interpret what is going on...the Rams want more for the #2 pick than what the Eagles are offering..their #20 and our #19.
The Browns would get Bradford for the #19 pick.
It looks like the Rams want the Eagles to come up with more...maybe making another deal with the Browns to get our #12.
I have no idea what players the Eagles have that the Browns would want in exchange for our #12 ??
One player the Browns might be interested in is Fletcher Cox, who was the Eagles 1st round #12 pick in the 2012 draft.
There might be another team willing to make a trade with the Eagles in exchange for a 1st round pick ?? I don't know what other teams might have interest in making a deal with the Eagles.
That is my take on the situation...Philly has more work to do to get the Rams to trade their #2 pick.

In my opinion.
Bradford, Cox and Kendricks would be worth the #12 pick in a straight up trade.
We would be the major winners of that, coming away with Bradford and two quality defenders, plus we still have the #19, #43 and so on. We'd still have 9 total picks to work with.

IMHO Bradford <= Cutler??? We know. Marriota <= Sanchez??? Who knows. Manziel <= Hoyer??? Who knows. I want a certain OSU QB next year. Unless Manziel really improves, he is our best chance (ala C.Painter) to get that high QB pic next year.
Just build out the rest of the team this year.

I would fall over dead if that happened from Joy. I would do Cox and Bradford or Kendricks and Bradford and still walk away overjoyed. But what a koo that would be ah. If Philly were willing to give all that up I would bet there are teams lower in the draft that would have something to say???? Maybe even the Rams

This won't happen, ever, and here's why... because we can't have nice things here in Cleveland! In all seriousness, that would be very nice. #12 for those three players, yeah... don't see it unfolding but it would be incredibly nice.

. . . .With a choice of Buckeye QBs! I am OK with a lesser name tonight at QB, but we need to get right with two picks in first round to help our weak areas.

The problems with such a deal...Bradford's not willing to sign an extension with the Browns. Bradford would cost the Browns $13 million for 2015. To keep Bradford without him signing an extension, the Browns would need to franchise Bradford for 2016 and that would cost the Browns approx. $19 million for 2016.
Cox would be a UFA in 2017..his 2015 cap hit is $3,258,036 and for 2016 the cap hit would be $7,799,000.
To keep each player after their contracts expire is going to be very expensive...a detail that must be considered by the Browns.

After this off-season I will never underestimate Chip Kelly's ability to do crap poo poo.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I would be thrilled to death to get Kendrick, Bradford, and Cox for 19 and 12
But the KEY is Bradford we have to come away with a QB tonight... Ther is no way we can go into this season with the QB's we have and have a hope in hell of winning more then 2 games....
This is the time Farmer use the hammer and get it done.

If we give them a 1st for Bradford they would have to include a 2nd or 3rd rounder with the QB ... JMHO Weren't you the one speculating on another thread that JFF could get us a 2nd round pick? If Manziel is worth a second, then Bradford is easily worth a first, if not more. That said, I do not think Bradford is worth a first. But worth more than Johnny, who I think has zero trade value.

I wonder who has the worst QB's? Us with Johnny Rehab, Josh McCown, Conner Shaw and Thad Lewis or the Eagles with a brittle Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and Tim Tebow?

Well I guess if the Eagles make the PO and we don't that will answer all your questions. At the end of the day Tenn wasn't willing to part with the player or the pick and without that eliminate there was no deal.
Mark my words though you'll all live to regret it when you get an up close look at what we do have hello 2-14.
How someone can talk themselves into what we have being good enough is beyond me but for now your all happy until the season actually starts then that will all change.....
I'm happy that the FO did try their hands were tied this is the original plan though ready set TANK. HELLO 2-14 and hello 1st pick in the 2016 draft.

A team that has 2 QB's with NFL playoff wins vs what we have. Even Tebow is a better QB than what we have right now. But we'll win enough to knock us out of the 2016 #1 spot regardless.

Bradford knows he was trade bait and what more than likely ruined Kelly's plan was Bradford's statement about not signing an extension with any other team but the Eagles.
Chip Kelly got punked by his own QB...lol
