you mean that the Browns arent being traded to the Titans and they arent 91% done with Johnny Manziel? lol Grossi has come across as a child thats bitter cause he didnt get his way. I thought this was probably the first unbiased article I have read from him since he got fired from cleveland.com
I agree with Grossi in that I am more confident in the receivers than the backs at this point. I would bring in Ray Rice if he is still available. i trust crow or west to be the guy but with both Duke and West riding bikes, you are one tight hammy away from having Wynn line up in the backfield.
Also agree on Pryor. I want him to succeed and love all the warm fuzzies but he has a hard fight ahead of him.
As for the Manziel completion percentage. he looks so much more relaxed and has his mojo back as a natural thrower. Its night and day. hearing the quick slant has become automatic for him was just great news. Again everyone saying he is great from the gun but needs work under center. Thats gonna take a bit more time. He has the feet its just a matter of him being able to backpeddle and read.

1. I don't trust Grossi... Anyone who has seen some film or went to camp have they noticed West being out of shape?
Also the West problems was that just Grossi talking from last year, cause I find it odd they (coaches) would put West up as the #1 in the depth chart at RB if he is being a bad apple where Grossi even questions if he will be on the team? (did I read that right?)
All in all seems to be decent observations although I wouldn't know cause of course I'm not there.

Yes i am pretty sure he was referencing last years stuff with west and the twitter tantrum after we drafted Duke. I didnt put stock into west being a thick guy cause the guy is a bit of a tank and he looked incredible during his offseason workouts. He is probably close to 240 right now. but he is supposed to be back at practice today so we will see.

Joe Haden gets the day off, but he's helping to coach up the secondary. It's good to see that.

Curious to see who starts in his place, Desir again or do they give Gilbert a shot?

Any idea what Gilbert has to do for that set of reps in practice? Like to see him at least split time with Desir so both get quality reps if either ends up injured.
Good to have depth which I feel we have improved, but to have them practiced up a bit can really help down the road. Reps are how you get better; spread some around to the next man up before it is a crisis start for him. Nobody likes to take time from starters. Continuity matters with injuries, too.

Offense wearing camo jerseys. How can they call that "camo"? Camouflage for what? They look like somebody blew chunk all over them.

Pryor lining up against Traymon Williams in drills. Mary Kat Cabot walked by and said to keep an eye on him. Sounds like the experiment may pay off.

Offense wearing camo jerseys. If I understand things correctly, whichever unit was deemed t he winner of the previous practice, gets the camo's....

Reporter hinting that Desir keeping the edge over Gilbert. With this staff, you put in the work and effort and you'll get the nod regardless where ya came from, where you was drafted or how much money you're making. Prime case of that above. Still early though, plenty of time to make impressions and get things corrected.

Seems the issues are the same ,year after year. I would say while the Browns had a better/deeper draft, the areas where they need the impact player isn't going to get that upgrade yet.
QB..doesn't matter about McCown, it's another retread while they wait to see what Manziel has.

According to what I read... they wanted to use real camo but the league told them it had to use the teams colors... good camo if you want to hide in a crayon box

That pic may become my desktop wallpaper for a week or so Two things: 1) Can Shelton maintain that intensity for a full game; 2) Is Mack fully heeled. Otherwise, good showing Shelton! One can hope this lights a fire under Phil Taylor too.

I'm a Quality Engineer for a medical device company. When we talk about how our suppliers are doing, or how well we think they're going to do, we talk about capability and stability.
Capability can be established in one sample. Stability can only be established after a certain amount of data is amassed after a certain amount of repititions.
That pictures shows capability, which is still a good thing, but doesn't show what he will be over the long term.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Of course. But it is still nice to visualize a rookie doing this to arguably one of the best centers in the NFL.

I'm not one to buy into camp fluff or anything like that..
But man I love every single thing I am hearing about Danny Shelton. First guy on the field. He's making his presence known in drills. The reporters there are all saying he looks like a friggin' wall...
Man I love that. I think fans are going to love this guy.

Funny - for all the haters who want to shot down any positive report during training camp, I really don't remember Hoyer or JM getting ANY love last season at this time. Both looked bad and that was reported as such. I remember a little bit of buzz last year about West and Crowell - and many assumed that they would line up on the depth chart because Tate was the big name signing in FA. Not a lot of love for the WR's due to Austin having had such an injury history - and then the uncertainty over JG...... While it's still way too early for any of this to mean anything come week 1 - I guess I feel a little better about my natural optimism that the team will be better than most project.
Just look at Tony Grossi - he's been as critical of Farmer (he's been on a darn one man campaign to nail him) over not drafting a WR the last 2 drafts. I mean 6 weeks ago it was almost like it was personal .... and yesterday Tony is praising our corp of WR's ... I still don't have high hopes for Bowe because I fear he is simply past his sell by date - but all the feedback at this stage is better than expected. I am not jumping on the Bowe band wagon - but it is cause for feeling better about the offense! McCown is doing exactly what I hoped he would do -- and the test is whether he can hold this poise when LB's and DE's are flying at him and his legs.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

J/C Pettine runs a fantastic camp! Lots of up close action, interesting drills to watch, and no Mike Holmgren downing daqiris and smoking cigs.... Some Photos From Today: Here's a few thoughts: -No one on this roster currently works harder than Pryor. I always saw him talking to players, working on technique, or pushing himself to rise to the occasion. Mary Kay Cabot came by and told us to keep an eye on him. (Although, he's probably her training camp crush like Weeden, Quinn, and other prior players) -Gilbert kept getting second team reps. The coaches continually coached him on different aspects. He looks a bit disengaged, still. -This offense belongs to McCown and Crowell. The WRs won't beat anyone by themselves, but the offense will be okay. -The defensive unit, especially the DBs, look like their enjoying their work. Traymon Williams continually thanked fans for paying attention to him, and thanked everyone for the warm reception. Below are a couple of photos from the day. The link has hundreds of more photos from today's practice in Berea, Ohio. Link To More Photos From Today

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I don't think there is anything wrong w/positive reports. I hope I haven't given that impression, but I believe many of you feel that I have. Positive reports on individual players, units, and even the team are great. I wanna hear who is looking good. I simply don't like paid reporters using language to make everything seem hunky-dory when it isn't. There is a huge difference between positive reporting and propaganda. A couple of other comments: T--he most hateful poster on the board begins his most recent post w/this beauty: Funny - for all the haters who want to shot down any positive report during training camp... --I wish Pet's presser after today's practice would have been posted in this thread rather than the Pettine thread. There were some interesting comments that either went along with or were a bit contrary to many of the sentiments regarding today's posts on this particular thread. --Rocket: Awesome work, man. Thanks a bunch! Rocket: Thanks for all the updates. It's appreciated.
