I am having this same problem. it's extremely annoying and I have just given up reading threads entirely due to this.

Please fix this

I had that problem early this week, or late last week. Only lasted for 10 minutes or so.

I don't know what I did to fix it. Actually, I didn't do anything to "fix" it. It just went away.

Some rules changed in 2015, but according to this, Pryor, who has 4 accrued seasons and is not eligible for the practice squad...I stand corrected.

link How many players on the practice squad?

10 - It was previously 8, but last year the NFL changed it to 10 for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. They will need to reach a subsequent agreement to keep these new rules in place.

How is a player eligible for the practice squad?

In order to be eligible for the practice squad, players must meet one of the following requirements:

Have no prior Accrued Seasons in the NFL (An accrued season is six or more games on the active roster);
Have one prior Accrued Season in which the player was on the 45-man active roster for no more than 8 games;
Each club will be permitted to sign a maximum of 2 Practice Squad players who have earned no more than 2 accrued seasons of free agency credit;
If served two seasons on a practice squad, are eligible for a third season only if the team has at least 53 players on its active/inactive list for the duration of that player's employment.
A player has served one season on the practice squad if he is on the practice squad for at least 6 games. The rule previously required 3 games on the practice squad roster.
Salary

Players on the practice squad can earn a minimum of $6,600 per week in 2015. Teams are allowed to pay a player a higher salary than the minimum, and this often happens if another team comes sniffing around a player. All practice squad salaries are counted under the team's salary cap.

Player rights

While on a practice squad, a player is paid by that particular team. However, the player has the right to sign with another team's 53-man roster. The one exception to this is that the player may not sign a contract with his team's next opponent after 1 p.m. PT six days preceding the game (10 days preceding in bye weeks). A player cannot sign a practice squad contract with one team and then leave to sign a practice squad contract with another team, unless the first team has released said player.

Promotion

If a player signs with another team's 53-man roster, or is promoted to his own team's 53-man roster, the player must be paid for at least 3 weeks of at least league minimum salary. They can be released before the 3 weeks is up, but they still have to be paid.

There is one exception to this called the Contagious Disease Addendum, which was first added in June 2010 in a side letter agreement to the last CBA. This states that if a player is promoted from the practice squad for a game because a club was given a roster exemption due to confirmed or suspected cases of contagious disease among its players, the player remains on his practice squad contract, but will be paid 1/17 of the league minimum salary. After the game he will be returned to the practice squad without having to clear waivers.

The first comment below the PFT story is exactly what I was thinking...

Patriots work out Pryor; no signing imminent

Posted by Zac Jackson on September 15, 2015, 12:13 PM EDT
link

Terrelle Pryor worked out for the Patriots, PFT has confirmed, but no signing of the former quarterback trying to transition to wide receiver is imminent.

The Browns cut Pryor last Thursday, ending a brief and bizarre relationship during which Pryor participated in only a handful of practices and one preseason game due to a hamstring issue. He was kept through the final preseason roster cut and even practiced as a read-option quarterback during the open portion of practice on the day he was released.

Pryor started parts of two seasons for the Raiders but was cut by four teams as a quarterback, and despite his size (6’4) and speed had long insisted he had no interest in trying to play wide receiver. The Browns claimed him after the Bengals waived him in June, and he spent parts of June and July working out with Randy Moss and Antonio Brown, among others, in trying to transition to receiver.

PFT reported last week that Pryor had at least two workouts scheduled.

The Patriots are at least exploring wide receiver options because Brandon LaFell is on PUP and out at least until late October.

Thanks for the link, mac!

I kind of thought he would have had a few workouts thus far, truthfully... you can scheme up a lot for a single guy that can catch, read defenses (or somewhat can read defenses) and throw the ball...

Well from what I have read or heard. I think Cris Carter on ESPN radio.

Said nobody would sign Pryor till after game 1. If they did sign him earlier they would have to guarantee his Salary for the year.

Now they can sign and cut him with no ramifications to cap???

But here is it Wed. and nobody signed him...only desperate for injuries would sign him.

Question if - gosh forbid we get an Injury to WR...would we sign Pryor? Lenz (I think not) or bring up Jennings from practice squad.

I figure some team like New England would find room, desperate or not, for the potential/upside Pryor has. I thought wrong.

With the great & mighty Terrelle Prior freely available to pick up for veteran minimum, the Cowboys just traded a conditional pick for some guy named Brice Butler that has all of a whopping 30 career receptions... and he is shorter and lighter than Pryor, and arguably less explosive a talent. Oh, yeah... and he wasn't even active for Game 1 vs. Cincinnati.

SO...... what does this tell everyone about Terrelle Pryor?
Let it go people.... it is NOT a great loss.

Terrelle Pryor slated to work out for Seahawks

Free agent Terrelle Pryor is slated to work out for the Seattle Seahawks next week, according to NFL Media's Rand Getlin.

Pryor was released last week by the Cleveland Browns to make room for former Seahawks running back Robert Turbin. On Monday, Pryor worked out for the New England Patriots and is also scheduled to work out for the New York Jets next week.

In three seasons with Oakland, the former quarterback has a career 69.3 passer rating, with nine passing touchdowns and three rushing scores, but also 12 interceptions.

The former Ohio State product is trying to resuscitate his career at wide receiver since being drafted in the third round of the 2011 Supplemental Draft.

And the Pat's said "no thanks", right?

We'll see, next week, about the Seahawks.

Gotta say something that we released/cut him, the Pats didn't sign him, and the Hawks waiting until next week to even look at him, doesn't it?

It says they are high quality teams with high quality depth. Getting onto the bottom of their rosters would be much tougher than ours.

It says much better teams do have some interest in his talent. It doesn't say he'll make their rosters.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Ok, by that standard, it also says low quality teams aren't even looking at him. Getting ON a roster will tough. Heck, the Browns cut him. We had interest in his talent, and cut him. Every team he's tried out for has said "no, thanks."

They could be. I'm not one who sees him being cut as some huge loss. We aren't in the position some teams are that may be able to afford a project.

I would say that I may have kept him on the roster for at least a couple of weeks in case we needed an emergency QB. I mean I didn't feel very comfortable knowing that Brian Hartline was our emergency QB after McCown went down.

I know once your emergency QB enters the game you're in big trouble. However, having a guy like Pryor as an emergency QB would feel better than Hartline. With JFF's shoulder issues, I probably would have considered having Pryor on the roster.

But like I said, overall, I don't think it's a big deal.

when turbin told the doctor another 4 to 6 weeks thats what he meant. the charger game would be 4 weeks. i really dont know why you have to call people lazy when all we do is go by what the guy said.

Well, probably. A team gets a certain number of players. Potential plays a part in who is kept and who isn't kept. But when the word to describe someone is "potential", that simply means the person hasn't done it yet.

Now, they might in the future, no doubt. So, yes, numbers played a part - a HUGE part - in his release. If we could keep 60 players, I bet he'd have made it.

I would've loved to see him on the team. But my job is not "NFL Roster Maker". Potential is wonderful - actually doing it counts more. When we're talking NFL and potential - it's a "put up or shut up" kind of thing.

It sucks, I know. Pryor has potential. But nfl teams have little room for "potential" guys - especially in Pryor's case: qb changing to wr.

Scenario not too far off: Next week Bowe is healed up and ready to go.

We release him and we got Bowe, Pryor and Lenz the last two still out there available.

You tell me who gets signed first???
