Nobody in the draft wants to play for Cleveland. We all know it. This guy is sick to his stomach thinking about having to play for the Browns. It's sad what this franchise has been reduced to...god I so badly want Haslam to sell the team and get the hell out! I know that's not going to happen, but we have zero hope with him owning the team ...ZERO!

You really want the guy you're looking at making the 1st overall pick to say all the right things leading up to the draft, this is not saying the right thing. Draft Allen instead.

Draft him as part of building a winning team. Let him grow up being an integral part of something special, and his loyalties will change.

I'm sure once he puts on the cap, his loyalty will change. If not then, it'll be when he sees his signing bonus.

I really do have to laugh at the trade idea. To think that Romo's floating corpse, hanging from the balloon he calls his contact is worth the first pick laughable. The Cowboys will save 25 mil season if they trade Romo. He's going to be 37 next year and can't stay healthy. At best he's worth a 3rd to us. Maybe someone like the Broncos will trade for Romo and give Jerry Jones a life line. Probably not us though.

I don't mind you expressing your opinions. I agree with some of them. The "crazy" comment is more a figure of speech than any implied insult.

The last part is where I have a disconnect. He says he would love to play in Dallas and you hear it as him saying he doesn't want to play in Cleveland.

I just don't understand how you make these leaps to conclusions that don't seem to have any basis.

As another poster pointed out, Mitch has gone on record as him being a Browns fan and it would be a dream to play for the Browns. I don't think that means he said he doesn't want to play for some other team.

All these guys grew up somewhere and most aren't from greater Cleveland. They grew up being Cowboy fans, or Raider fans, or Miami fans, etc.

I'm beginning to have questions about his commitment to us. More like a hiccup though, not a speed bump...

Yeah Myles we'll trade you to Dallas. We want Dak, Zeke, and a couple of your Olinemen. You can keep that china doll Romo.

The only problem I have with the video is that he mentions trading Romo specifically. Thats not cool.

The only way this actually would work is if there's a third team that wants Romo and we end up with like 5 1sts.

I also thought it was funny he refers to Jerry by his first name, but then says "Mr. Garret"

...and think it is indeed cause for concern. But then again, who does really wanna play for the perpetually losing Browns?

Sounds to me like a lifelong Cowboys fan with a pipe dream. Cowboys fans are as passionate as Browns fans. Could you imagine being expected to go #1 in the draft and the Browns were in the promising state the Cowboys are in right now? I'd be creaming my shorts if there were a slim chance I'd get to be a Brown. No disrespect meant to other teams....and he said that.

I feel stupid being annoyed by this but I just am. I feel like those fans that hate it when LeBron wears Cowboy and Yankees gear. Makes no sense. Like others have said, he's just a kid talking about the dream of being on his childhood team.

But, on the other had, I also think it is immature. Narcissistic even. Especially throwing the veteran QB of the team he's not even on into his concocted trade up package.

Time will tell. Lord knows, there is PLENTY of time between now & the draft. But if this happened on the eve of the draft, logical or not, I'd be swayed against him. Makes me think of a Jonathan Allen/Solomon Thomas combo in the first.

Well, Mr. Jones, I'm all ears......make me an offer I can't refuse.

It would have to be Zeke for me to listen, and that isn't happening.

Too costly for Dallas, but it sure sounds like he wants nothing to do with the Browns.

Proof positive why some people should only have one hand.

The difference between what Trubisky said and what Garrett did is that Trubisky said what he said, which was that he was a Browns fan and would love to play for the Browns, was done in an interview where he was asked those questions. Garrett put that video out there on his own. And he didn't just say he'd like to play for the Cowboys, he specifically asked Jerry Jones to trade for him. To me that's a big difference. Makes me want Allen that much more.

If a guy doesn't want to play where he gets drafted to how do you know you're going to get 100% from him?

I was kinda thinking the same thing.

But what players REALLY wanna come play for our Brownies anyhow? It's a perpetually losing team, so.... you know (sighs). We gotta expect this - the truth slipped through, me thinks.

There's a latter interview on Feb 9th where he's talking about being happy to play in the cold weather in Cleveland and turning a franchise around....

The original video this hullabaloo is based on was made in December. So he made the video before he even knew who had the #1 pick. Awesome.

Myles Garrett says he would play for Browns

A few months after pleading for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to trade up for him so he can play in his home state, Garrett seems to accept the possibility of playing for the Cleveland Browns, who own the No. 1 pick.

"People might say, 'They're this, they're that' or I made a comment on cold weather and they kind of pointed towards Cleveland with that, it doesn't matter to me, I'll play wherever they put me," Garrett said in a video for FOX 26 in Houston.

"If you go in there with a mindset that you're gonna turn things around and make that contagious and people start to believe in it, you can turn into a winning program wherever you go," Garrett would add.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Texas A&M pass-rusher Myles Garrett said his video begging the Cowboys to trade up to No. 1 with the Browns to draft him was all in jest and that he just wants to go No. 1 overall.

The video, posted by ESPN Friday night, was actually from Dec. 8, but ESPN didn't reveal that until later.

"I kind of forgot I had done it because I really didn't think it would go anywhere,'' he told Houston's Fox 26 on the red carpet of the Lombardi Awards banquet Saturday night. "It was just supposed to be a funny video, but it kind of gained some traction the last couple of days, but it is what it is.''

As for who drafts him No. 1, he said, "it doesn't matter at all. I mean, it matters if you're the first pick or not. That's where I want to go. I want to hold myself to the highest standard and so that's No. 1. So whomever's No. 1, I gotta play for them.''

Garrett also told ESPN on the red carpet, "it was supposed to be pretty much a joke and not taken too seriously. It kind of got blown up." He added, "Take a joke, people.''

A Texas native, Garrett also told ESPN, "I've already said I like the Cowboys because that's my hometown team. Everybody knows you're going to like your hometown team. But I want to go No. 1, whoever that is. If that's Cleveland, I have no problem going up there and playing with them. I'm going to love whatever team and organization that I'm a part of.

"... Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco, whoever has No. 1 at the end of the day, that's where I'm trying to go."

Garrett also described his mindset heading into the draft.

"Relax,'' he said. "I want to be the greatest player who has ever been at my position, the greatest player who has ever played. I have to pass up [Tom] Brady now, but no matter what team that is, I'm going to give my all. I'm not going to be any different. Whoever picks me up, I'm not going to show any less or any more effort. I'm going to give 100 percent to whatever team [drafts me] and have fun with it."

In the "trade up'' video, taken at a College Football Awards ceremony Dec. 8 in Atlanta, Garrett said, "All right, I'm speaking to you, Jerry (Jones). "Mr. (coach Jason) Garrett, make it happen. Dak Prescott is leading our team right now. I need you to take Tony Romo, take a couple picks, give them to Cleveland so you can pick me up. Please. I would love to play in Dallas. Just make it happen."

The night before that video was posted, Garrett was asked by Fox 26 TV in Houston if he'd be okay playing for the Browns, and he said "definitely.''

"People might say, 'oh they're this, they're that,' or I made a comment about cold weather and they kind of pointed toward Cleveland," Garrett said. "It doesn't matter to me. I'll play wherever they put me. It's about your mindset you go into it (with).

"If you go in there with a mindset that you're going to turn things around, you can make that contagious and people start to believe in it, then you can turn it into a winning program wherever you go."

Most draft experts predict the Browns will take Garrett, but that's certainly not a foregone conclusion. The Browns are considering other players for the top pick, including quarterbacks Mitch Trubisky and Deshaun Watson and Alabama pass-rusher Jonathan Allen.

Coach Hue Jackson also said at the Senior Bowl that the Browns haven't ruled out trading down from No. 1. They also have the No. 12 pick.

Trade him to Chicago and get this year and next #1 plus couple more picks (stay warm )

Because with the new CBA, rooks get their "big" money on the 2nd contract.

I wonder if any of these menZas knows witch hand he uses to wipe his ass with .... talk about over analyzing ... sheesh ...

We all ready traded Julio Jones ... now were not gonna draft the best pass rusher to come out since LT (with a GREAT head on his shoulders by all accounts) cause he said he wants to play for his childhood team or somewhere warm ....

Sure ... makes sense to me ...

LT? As in THE Lawrence Taylor of the Giants? What is that claim even based on? Not taking anything away from MG but, come on man...he hasn't even played a down in the NFL and he is already being compared to one of the all-time greats?

Who knows.

Draft a guy in first round, you have him locked up for 4 years with a 5th year option.

If he's good, you've got him for 5 years.

Then you can franchise him for 3 more years fin he's great.

And then he's on the down swing and he can feel free to go get his last contract from Dallas, if they're still any good in 8 years..

He's a kid who naturally wants to play for the team he grew up rooting for.

If we draft him, and he has good experiences with the Browns over his rookie contract, we will have the inside track to resign him.

If we draft him, and the team continues to suck through his rookie contract, he'll be outta here at his first opportunity.

This is why they call it the silly season. It's also why I don't post much this time of the year.

Silly is coming out of the woodwork from people who usually aren't this silly.
