Homes, I know you are a good poster, but I don't remember reading where JG didn't want to come here, except from maybe a poster on here. Do you remember where you read that?

And it's odd how not very long ago he sent another player here.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

So we've reached the point where media members are using other media members as sole source of their "report" (or, opinion disguised as news). And yet nowhere in the story did I see any direct quotes from even an unnamed source with the Patriots by Schefter. We are to believe that Bill Belichick had an attack of warm fuzzies for the loveable Jimmy G, forsaking a likely better deal from the Browns? What's next? Will we see BB on the Oprah Show boo-hooing about feeling his father's disapproval when he was a boy? Having a sleepover with Tommy, complete with Hot Cocoa, Smores, and The Hallmark Channel? Come on, man!

Vers I'll be honest with you, I didn't actually read it but from what I heard on local sports talk shows, I'm in Pats territory, they said he didn't want to come here. Now whether he actually said it or they were just assuming I don't know. Most likely they were assuming that he would not want to come here. I doubt JG would come right out and say it.

Okay. Got it.
And again, I know you aren't the type to make things up. I was just curious.

J/K Well for all the belly-aching and crying some do on here about Garrapolo not being a Brown, it seems there WAS a reason and some of us were right. BB was not not gonna send his back-up to a QB grave yard. Sounds about right. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/pat...MQZW?li=BBnb7Kz

It also sounds like Sashi tried to make this work, but no go. To bad the guy lost his job....doing....his job. Life's B when you did your job and still get fired. I know thats not the only reason, but at least he tried.

That hard-hitting report from MSN links back to the article Vambo posted. It is - literally - media reporting on a conversation between two media members, and calling it news.

Is that all you got? A video? That story hits real close to home. BB was not gonna trade him to Cleveland, plain as the nose on your face.

It is not news. It is an opinion piece based on an opinion piece. Yahoo and MSN are NOT news organizations, they are internet providers who post content to generate clicks - nothing more.

Yeah, an opinion. A well informed opinion, which is alot more than anyone else has got. Everyone else guesses. At least these guys got sources. I trust the sources. Makes more sense.

If Sashi Brown somehow makes the Garoppolo trade, is he still employed?

Jimmy Garoppolo's "leverage" was strictly over the Patriots, not the team to which he got traded. The "(i.e. Cleveland)" part of that report sounded a lot more like a surmise on the part of the writer, rather than being an attributed representation of what JG wanted. The truth is he was going to spend the next 2-1/2 years with whomever traded for him by virtue of that team's ability to franchise him twice if they choose to. That is not leverage, folks. What I think is that there are only 32 NFL starting QB jobs in the world, and a guy would have to be an idiot to turn one down. I think Jimmy would have come here and he would have seen what's developing here, and that he would buy in, big time.

Agreed. Hue is a good coach and the Browns have a ton of picks and cash. We can turn this around quickly.
SF isn't exactly loaded. In fact, their talent base is horrid. But, they have won 2 straight under JG. And most of our dumb fans didn't want the guy. And apparently, Sashi did not want him bad enough either.

Agreed Dave. Sometimes the perception of whatever or whomever is not the reality. Unfortunately for us we've earned that perception. But the reality is we are at least starting to turn this around and develop something positive. Vers is right IMO. With what we have in place and the right moves in the next 9 months we can turn this around quickly. The 9 months is my take on it, roughly the time until the 2018 season starts.

Unlike you and the other half dozen or so Hue Haters, I play fair. I have said several times that Sashi is responsible for getting us those picks and helping us w/our salary cap.

Jimmy g is thanking whatever god he has to that he didn’t land here.
Our best shot at getting the guy will always be the draft. Unless they pull an Eli Manning and refuse to play here.

I’m already preparing for the gut punch.

Now that Sashi is gone, this franchise is looking up. We have a lot of picks and cap space. Dorsey wants to win now. Don't listen to the half-dozen or so haters, this franchise is trending upwards.

I’m already preparing for the gut punch. I don't see it. Maybe if Sashi was still here? But Dorsey is a football guy with respect around the league - that changes things, and Hue is also well respected. . . . even those who are hating on Hue right now (and I do get that 1-27 is just hard to stomach) Osweiler went to Denver and only had great things to say about Hue, Joe Thomas who is a pretty straightforward dude raved about Hue with total believe in him ... and despite the loses the team gives 100% every single week in every game. That says a lot about him as a leader of this team. Now I don't buy into Hue being 100% safe - despite the talk and statements it would be entirely possible and feasible for a change at the end of the season.... there would be some corporate double talk to justify it and half the fans would hate it and half would love it... It's still a very real possibility in my eyes and I think THAT would hurt more then help potential #1 draft pick refusing to sign... but overall I still think it's a very unlikely event (a QB refusing to sign).

No Problem ... I wanted to see the course with Sashi and made posts to that effect ... I thought the plan was clear (we'd suck) and acquire picks and cap space (while sucking) and then be in the position we are in this year .... young team, bad record and a boat load of draft collateral and cap space ... I didn't think we'd be 0-fer. I thought we'd win 4 or 5 games and incidentally if we hadn't had Kizer "fall" to us in the 2nd round we probably would be 3-10 or 4-9 .... but having a 21 year old rookie back there has lost us games we could have won with merely 'bad' QB play instead of chronic like it was early in the season. . . . . As I have said elsewhere - that was the plan that was laid out and agreed to as far as I can tell. The idea that Sashi only ever wanted to trade down for more draft picks is incorrect ... it was done year 1 and 2 to set up this year imo. But we'll never know now.
As it is - after the bye week fiasco and after hearing Sashi and Hue were not on speaking terms ...Sashi had to go. Keeping Hue and getting Dorsey gives us the most amount of continuity we could have hoped for in those circumstances and it *appears* we have a HC and GM who are of similar mind sets and mental approach to football. . . . I hope Hue gets the chance to be here next year with a much better opportunity to be successful.
