Since all we hear about is our "young" team I'm going to put forth a young HC candidate who I like alot. A solid defensive mind and paired up with a good O mind and let them run for 5 years.
Mike Vrabel...

I keep reading on here about how we are definitely taking a QB early in this draft, but what if both Rosen and Darnold decide they don't want to play in Cleveland and return to school? Then what? Do we take Mayfield that early? I really am not enamored with that scenario, I see to many similarities to Maziel for my liking. So lets pump the brakes on saying we're definitely taking a QB #1

It would really be dumb for Rosen at least to not declare this year being projected #1 overall. Do you know how much money he'll make being taken #1? If he goes back to school and risks being injured his draft stock will plummet, he's risking his whole future. He's going to a bad team that needs a qb anyway, he's coming out.

Do we take Mayfield that early? I really am not enamored with that scenario, I see to many similarities to Maziel for my liking. So lets pump the brakes on saying we're definitely taking a QB #1 Someone on twitter pointed out that Rosen excitedly posted a letter on Instagram back in October 2012 when his team got letters for Oregon Ducks coach, Chip Kelly. Six years later, he's got a chance to play for him. While people say Rosen isn't a typical Chip Kelly quarterback, one of the best seasons in NFL history was Nick Foles and Chip Kelly, with Foles throwing 2,891 yards (9.12 per attempt) at 64% complete, with 27 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions for a 119 passer rating. Foles also rushed for a further 221 yards and 3 touchdowns with only 4 fumbles. Imagine what Kelly could do at UCLA with a guy like Josh Rosen. I think the system would happily fit Rosen, and only accentuate the strengths around him, when UCLA will be a much better team. Rosen is also from an affluent family. It is often said that players feel pressure to declare for the draft to help their family financially, so Rosen doesn't have that pressure. It certainly could be tempting for him to wonder what could occur with another season. As for Darnold, that's a lot more clear given he's been rumoured to return for quite some time. He was a born and raised USC fan who knows he isn't NFL ready. They're also a very young team, but with another year of experience, he might feel like a national championship for his beloved Trojans isn't out of the question. That is to say: I don't think playing for Cleveland is an issue for either of them. I think that's more of an easy cheap shot for the media. Personally, I think the chances of both returning is slim to none. If one returns, that basically makes the other a 100% lock for the first overall pick - not that it matters, as I think they got #1 and #2, I just don't know who goes first. However, you're not wrong - both could return. Personally, I'd just build around Kizer. I'm uncertain of Mayfield, and I'm not a huge fan of Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen. There is some nice talent available early that the Browns would have a chance to add, and I'm not against seeing what Kizer could do with a year of experience, another offseason under his belt and a team more ready around him.

I FedEx'd a brand new pair of swim trunks to Browns HQ in Berea in c/o of Hue Jackson. I hope more than anything that Hue sticks to it if the Browns can't find themselves 2-14. It'd take an unlikely miracle, but I've reserved myself to 1-15 at best, or 0-16. In that event, I hope the Browns actually drop a video of Hue Jackson freezing his ass off in Lake Erie. I hope his players join him, too. That would be a great moment to show what it means to him, and his players, to be getting out of the water, freezing their butts off, in humbling acknowledgement that better is needed. I HATE the 0-16 parade group, but I'd love to see Hue swimming in the lake.

Thanks for the article...man some posters are just taking a line and making stuff up about it.
No where there did I see Hue throwing Kizer under the bus. Actually he was more complimentary then was called for.

Mike Vrabel... mutt...considering Vrabel, by nfl standards, being a position coach from 2011 to 2016 and with 2017 being his first year as a Defensive Coordinator...that is not a lot of experience when considering someone for a HC position.
Also, take a look at how the Texans defense has performed under Vrabel's leadership.
IMO, Vrabel needs more time to gain the necessary experience.

If Hue is to be deep-sixed, it would make more sense to consider guys that Dorsey has a prior working relationship with, i.e, guys like Dave Toub, Matt Nagy, etc..

Matt Patricia (Pat's DC) and Matt Nagy would be my extremely short list if we fire Hue.

The only way I could agree to a coaching change would be if Dorsey can land a top 5 pick. I'm not even sure what names would be on a top 5 list??
1. Jon Gruden 2. Josh McDanials 3. 4. 5.
Feel free to fill in the blanks above, but remember we are talking about ranking only the top candidates.

I am not a gruden fan. I do like Josh mcdaniels I am a big frank reich fan
Rumor has it that O’brien of the texans is on the hit seat mostly because he and the gm don’t get along. Not sure how I feel about him but thought it was worth mentioning

I want to add this...finding an outstanding individual to take over the OC and play calling would rank somewhere around #3 on this list.
If Dorsey can't find a top coaching candidate, keeping the coaching staff intact with the addition of a top offensive coordinator would be my next choice.
This is nothing but an exercise in "speculation"..understand that.

Gruden would be a terrible hire. There would be an immediate struggle for power right out of the gate.
It would be more important that Dorsey hires someone that shares his vision and he is able to work with as opposed to the "hot" candidate.
We've seen far too often what happens when the FO and coaching are not on the same page.

You might be a great person and all, but we can do much much much better than the two names on your list. In reality, if there was a top 20 list, I'm sure those two names aren't even on it.

McDaniels and Gruden don't make your top20? I get that Gruden isn't all that, and has been away from coaching for a long time, but I don't think you can rank 20 candidates ahead of him.
McDaniels is absolutely a top5 candidate.

The #1 reason I want to keep Hue because every single week - regardless of the record, the entire team has come out and played hard and never given up. I credit the players for continuing to work hard despite being thrown under the bus by their coaches on a weekly basis. It's fine to criticize Hue for the things he has done poorly - but to suggest Hue doesn't deserve credit for the players efforts is simply hating on the guy. A little late I know but, Although I found this last weeks game to be rather uninspired, overall I do have to say that this team does play hard and Hue should be credited with that. But that also is probably what damns Hue the most! A team that plays this hard after so long... how does a coach NOT turn that in to a few wins???? Hue is 100% wasting that effort. Marv looks to be out in Cincy after several years of getting his team to the playoffs, but has shown an inability to get them over the hump and past that. How many games do we have to watch where this team has had opportunities to win a handful of games, but Hue can't get them over that hump? Oh, blame Njoku for dropping it on 3rd and 2 in the 4th quarter? How the hell does a good coach blow a 14 pt lead to Green Bay and put his rookie in that position in the first place? Seems to convenient for Hue to put these guys in so few positions to succeed, then blame them for not coming through. He can go. This team is about to be blown up again, so why bother keeping him? Continuity? What's there to continue? If all Sashi gave Hue was crap talent, why would you keep it? And if it is good enough to keep, then you can't claim Sashi wasn't doing a good job.

This team is about to be blown up again... I don't see that happening, 'Double D'. Rather than Dorsey (and whatever coach) rebuilding, I would expect him simply to finish what Sashi built to date...

Regardless of Hue's popularity with the players, he's cutting his own throat by dissing them in the press. One thing we know is this, Haslem does not put up with backbiting and infighting. Hue's public insulting of his players is just another form of his style of backbiting/ass covering. He may want out of here, he may want to go to Cincy, and Jimmy may oblige him.

Hmmm? From where I sat it looked like that soft azz D that Williams ran which created that situation.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

One of my biggest problems with Hue is how he very rarely incorporates option plays, whether they're run or pass options. If he changes this playaction play to an option play then Crowell takes it to the house instead of an incomplete pass to Duke.

cause that looks like a TD to duke if kizer could make a basic ass pass.

Then he needs to work on technique as that would require a side-arm pass.
