We won't have an o-line to protect the QB anymore anyways and no running game to help him either anyways.

... so anyway...
What kind of mileage is on these tires? Has he already been run into the ground?

j/c... Both the Browns (Hue) and the Steelers (Haley) ran 71% of their offensive plays from the shotgun last year. With that info..... Evan Silva Verified account @evansilva New #Browns RB Carlos Hyde's career splits: Shotgun Runs: 4.9 YPC, 25% of runs went for 1st downs Under-Center Runs: 3.3 YPC, 17% of runs went for 1st downs Tweet Team Snap Rates: Shotgun vs Under Center This is why I wanted Carlos Hyde this FA period. I didn't want him more than Guice, but I like it. Although I wonder how often we'll run from the shotgun, a rare occurrence last year. Also, you guys are sleeping heavy on Jerrick McKinnon. That dude has always been a good RB in a bad situation. He's much more of a bowling ball than Duke. He's gonna be on my FF big board this year and will be a steal. I actually wanted Hyde as well, I thought he was the best FA RB...big guy with good speed and soft hands...perfect for us. My favorite FA signing

I kinda feel Hyde will not be motivated in a way Crowell might have been.
Couldn't think how to describe it, but then, it hit me,
he replaces Crowell about the same as Kenny Britt replaced Terrelle Pryor, oh well, just 2cents.
Hey! Why haven't the Browns re-signed Terrelle Pryor yet, that would really do us a solid, Call him up!
I miss the way TP blocked, to have a guy at WR who is that big and blocks that well, is something in itself.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think Browns will still bring in a HB rookie. Hyde will likely end up being Ben Tate 2.0. Solid FA signing, but the young bloods out work him for playing time.

Rookie RB is a guarantee IMO .. Hyde will most likely be our Latavius Murray type.
Murray (Hyde) McKinnon (Duke) Cook (Rookie)

I love his presser...
Grossi - "describe your running style?"
Hyde - "Old school, downhill... violent"
Welcome home Hyde!

If we are going to throw money at a WR lets make sure he is a good one before we do... I'd rather draft a WR in the 2nd that give Pryor more than an average contract. If someone is willing to give him a top tier WR contract then let them deal with the blowback.

I know what you are saying, but Hyde is a better "Ben Tate". No doubt we will draft a back....or maybe I should say we better draft a RB, and with the backs available, they should be able to eat some snaps, especially in the middle of the field. Hyde (almost called him Tate lol) will work in the middle but will probably get the bulk of the work inside the 20.

I saw what Pryor did here, in the NFL, with us, with Hue Jackson as head coach. I have more faith in him than a rookie WR that we have to give up draft picks to get (and wait to see what comes to fruition). We haven't had many WRs as productive as Terrell. Say what you want, i saw that production. And who said a huge contract? You and I don't even know what he's asking for

I guess people need to ask themselves, do you get 2016 Pryor or 2017 Pryor?
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

You can say that if you like. I see it as Pryor was the only target here at the time. The ball was forced to him a lot due to that.
When he was in a situation he had to compete against real WR's with a real QB we saw the real Pryor.

I guess I just don't get the fascination with this kid. Don't hate him but wouldn't go one bit out of my way to bring him back.

My take on Pryor.
I was sure he could not transition to WR. So hard to catch up to guys who have done nothing else.
The fact that he did it is amazing to me. It shows great ability but even more intense work ethic and dedication.
At 28 given his tenure at Washington. This is time to make hay. He credits Al Saunders for making him a receiver.
I want him. I think he will be a good add. More and better competition. I need Coleman to show something. If not then Pryor. There is talent there. Let the best come forward.

Seriously though............I agree w/you. I think Pryor would help this team. He's certainly been more productive than guys like Coleman, Higgins, and Louis.

I was just about to apologize [somewhat] to Vambo because you were just as responsible as he was in hijacking this thread. Glad you stepped up.
I really wish the agenda crap would stop and we just talk about the topic.

After reading about him, this is a solid signing. Has some power, finds the end zone.

I am a huge Buckeye fan and I loved Hyde in college, but he's been a bit disappointing in the pros. I think Crow might be a bit better than Carlos, but it's close.
I do think this is an exceptional RB draft class and I hope we grab a guy like Penny, Michel, or Johnson.

He did state in his presser that he had no vet to teach him. he had to learn on his own. as he taught himself to do things to protect himself he got better.
As I listened to Hyde Talk about that I was thinking..why wasn't there a Coach who could teach him how to run and not put himself in a position to get injured.

Our RB group is not set. If not bark, we'll get another back IMO, in round 2
