You know 40, this is one thing that I think almost all of us are hoping Trump could pull off. I've been negative about the Nobel talk, but not on him getting this deal done. Obviously if he does get it done he should get the Nobel.

I can't imagine the admin didn't see this coming and make contingencies. And I think Bolton caused this over the weekend, more so than KJU repeating the past. I would balk if I was NK and heard Bolton talking about Syrian type denuclearization in NK first. Poor move when the admin has been pitching a denuclearized peninsula.

The Administration did see the possibility of this coming and stayed the course of giving up nothing, keeping the sanctions on and staying on military alert. Maximum Pressure on NK continues.

I hadn't heard that story,,, but I'll take your word for it. What I have seen over the years is that NK just can't be trusted... Period.

I hope Trump gets this done but it ain't looking good right now.

Lil Kim has Mr. Twitter over a barrel. He knows if Trump doesn't get this summit, Trump's Murica will have egg on it's face.

We can then scrape the egg off and serve a nice brunch to those 3 hostages we got back.

I don't think so. NK has pulled this many times and went back to being itself. Trump will look bad for about half a second unless the admin does something to blow it out of proportion. If this fails it's a blip on histories radar, if Trump pulls it off then he makes history in a huge way. Seems like a good risk for Trump as long as they don't do anything stupid.

Trump clearly doesn’t understand his own national security adviser’s reference to Libya as a model for North Korea. Bolton was talking about the negotiated removal of Libya’s nuclear program in 2003, not the international military intervention in 2011.

He can't even stay out of his own way.

Groot is wood. Wood is not as dense as Trump.

The recent setback in negotiations happened because Bolton mentioned we are following the Libya model.

This scared Kim because he doesn't want to end up like Moammar Gaddafi and Libya.

Now we will see if President Trump can still save the summit and denuclearize NK.

I will double check with the Japanese who no longer have missiles flying overhead.
I will ask the 3 hostages who are now home with their families.

But yes, I do think Trump got this. thumbsup

45* has always enjoyed presiding over 'a house divided against itself.' He's always run his businesses that way, and the turnover rate in the WH suggests he's running 1600 in similar fashion. [why do you think there are so many leaks?]

There is already a trickle of info that suggests a divergence of philosophy between Bolton and Pompeo.

I smell yet another internal power struggle that will further cloud the waters before clarity and unanimity of purpose may be found. Not exactly the ideal setting for a team approach to diplomatic negotiations, ya think?

I hate the way this admin lurches from one murked-up headline to another. Truly the 'Anti (no drama) Obama' that all his fans asked for.

Great job, guys.

North Korea tested another nuke. How big was it?

The Washington Post
Updated Sept. 14, 2017
North Korea’s nuclear capability is growing, apparently very quickly. Evidence indicated that the device detonated underground on Sept. 3 may have been up to 12 times more powerful than anything the country had previously tested. Original intelligence estimated the device’s yield at 100 kilotons, but later satellite image analysis suggested a much larger explosion. The regime claimed it was a hydrogen bomb that would fit in a missile capable of reaching the mainland United States.

It was North Korea’s sixth nuclear test, the third in two years, and the first since President Trump took office. North Korea in July tested an intercontinental ballistic missile believed to be capable of traveling thousands of miles. The nation has conducted 18 missile tests this year.

It's just that this time it happens so often and it's so obvious you'd have to be blind not to see it happening day in and day out. It's been taken to a whole new level. It's quite sad how so many actually support that type of thing.

Kim turned from wanting to negotiate and went with anger and insults. Trump is right to cancel. Kim is not sincere in wanting a solution.

On the other hand, Kim didn't cancel and is currently blowing up his Nuke facilities like he said he would.

I think this negotiation is continuing as Kim does the typical NK thing of Promise and then pull back, promise and pull back.

I don't think this is over and we may see a reschedule of the meeting in the future.

Time will tell.
