Martindale/Brady would be a nice combo

In addition to not bringing back head coach Jason Garrett, the entire Cowboys coaching staff has been let go, according to Mike Leslie of WFAA.

I believe his contract expired, so no need to fire him.

How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

: #Cowboys coach Jason Garrett's contract is up on Jan. 14, but it's highly unlikely owner Jerry Jones waits until then to officially move in a new direction and start their search.

Would Jones wait a little bit to see what the skins and giants are doing?

Thanks for posting text of the tweet - these threads are just a lot of blank screens, since I don't see Twitter posts unless I switch browsers.

Personally, I don't give a damn about the Cowboys.

The Wink/Brady duo is intriguing.

Jones would wait until the Giants and Redskins have new coaches, before releasing Garret. I seem to recall that Jones would not allow Romo to sign elsewhere, or even retire until he promised not to sign elsewhere. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall Romo talking to Denver and Jones interrupting the discussions. The Cowboys finally cut Romo when he agreed to sign to work for CBS and not play football. That cut, instead of retirement allowed Romo to keep a 5 Mil $ signing bonus, that he could not have kept if he retired.

The #Cowboys meeting with Jason Garrett lasted less than an hour… and everyone left with no resolution.

https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1212100498838446081

I’m being told there will likely be no news today on the Jason Garrett front. Meeting is over. Remaining coaches and staffers in the building heading home

This is really strange. Are they just waiting for Garrett to quit so the don't have to fire him?

he’s under contract through 1/14 ... so I think they don’t want him interviewing with the Giants and are stringing it along

Maybe they've agreed to NOT call it a firing and Garrett looks better.

So jerry Jones and Jason Garrett are having a third meeting.

Umm.....

Probably dragging it out to see what happens with Zimmer and the Vikings or are just going to let Garrett's contract expire on 1/14/20 and then everyone can technically say Garrett was not fired, his contract was just not renewed/extended.

Patriots OC Josh McDaniels is planning to conduct his interviews next Friday, Jan. 10, sources say. He has requests from the #Panthers, #Browns and #Giants – and is considered a top candidate.

This is what I hate about the process at this time of year.

You risk losing a great option because your waiting to interview someone else, simply because your trying to do "due diligence"

Shocker.

Nashville rocks, just like the rest of the state. You need to come to Chattanooga....we rock as well. Chattanooga has turned in to a great place to live.

Not surprised about Garrett. It’ll be interesting if he gets offers elsewhere or if he just fades off

No doubt one of the hazards. The other is it might force you in to a quick decision. Maybe the owners need to adopt a rule on when a head coach can be signed. Maybe the week before the Superbowl. That way everybody gets a chance to interview.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

A smart team will snag him to be an OC.

Don’t have to fulfill the Rooney rule. Can just pay the fine like the Raiders have done.

If we’re just trying to fulfill the Rooney rule, I’d assume McCarthy will be hired soon then

I think the main complaint about Garrett is that his offense is stale. I bet he takes some time off and becomes a talking head.

Mississippi State fired their head coach Joe Moorhead.

I'd take him as my offensive coordinator every time. He has a ton of experience and is innovative.
