Both sides have noble points- sad we, "the people" can't get better answers--- students owe the debt for their "education", how many are in debt with worthless degrees educators support to fill the seats and make a living. Parents have a responsibility to make sure their "young adults" learn the monetary facts of life- many parents failing. Corporations and their compensation of top leader is WAY out of whack- workers paid peanuts while "the brass" get golden parachutes even for poor performance.....but look at our society, we pay guys tens of millions a season to throw balls--- nutty. I'm for cutting corporate leader salaries drastically, taxing corporations justly, and flat tax for EVERYONE--never happen, sad.

Corporations do not hire employees they don't need. That is a myth. Only demand causes them to hire more people to keep up with that demand. You can only create demand by putting money in the hands of the consumer with which they can spend to create demand. Once again all you have done is makes excuse why employees of a corporation continue to pay a higher burden than the corporations themselves.
Do you really believe that corporations simply hire more workers they don't need because they got a tax cut? I'm not sure how that can be while we've all watched corporations get big tax breaks over the past decades while downsizing and outsourcing employees.

Corporations aren't people. Corporations are "economic engines." How well those engines work is indeed debatable. Tax incentives/considerations are generally the reason for forming corporations. Look, I don't really like the way corporations work, but I don't think just increasing their taxes is going to fix our economy. I think it's more likely just going to get corporations to start shipping more than "jobs" overseas.
No, I don't think tax cuts directly hire more workers. They do allow corporations to more easily make investments in capital improvements. Capital improvements can create jobs for more employees. But like in most things there are differences between theory and practice.
Debt forgiveness and taxes are two rather different things. I'm not a fan of government bailouts, either. Those are probably a better parallel than taxes.

You do realize that their profits doing so well is due to them not hiring employees they don't need just because they got huge tax breaks and looking out for their investors first in a totally profit driven world. Which makes both their consumers and employees last on their list of priorities by the vast majority of them.

Why would a corporation hire people when the demand for their products doesn't require that? Or are you saying that putting those same tax cuts in the hands of the consumer, which give them the ability to purchase the products a corporation makes isn't the best possible way to increase the demand which creates more jobs?

Corporations do everything possible to run as efficiently as possible. Part of that process is making their employees perform on the most efficient manner possible and only hire the minimum a anount of employees possible to keep up with demand.

Where did you do it? East Coast/Midwest? West Coast (especially SW) is different. I.e, Los Angeles has a big water conservation program. They've enacted ordinances that limit the gallons per minute shower heads can operate at and other water related restrictions.
I actually dealt with it overseas. (It may have been a Hilton in Australia... been awhile.) Mainly an issue in more "desert" (or just semi-regular drought) type areas, particularly during dry seasons.
Also been on ships where they decided to shut off the water supply mid shower.

From LA to Maine, to DC to Florida, to Texas and to arizona and Colorado, Illinois, and many others, I think I totaled it up once, the only state in the continental US I haven't been in is Montana and Washington. Haven't been to Alaska or Hawaii either.
