The 2 things that carried us earlier are suddenly having problems ....... scoring and the bullpen.

Hope we get it turned around soon.

Agreed. However, this loss was completely on Vogt. Absolutely inexcusable to allow Cobb to groove a 3-0 fastball to a guy with a 1.000+ OPS with two outs and two on. At 3-0, Vogt should have just put Wallner on and brought in Cade Smith. Especially, considering Cobb had not pitched in over a year and this was a high leverage situation. Felt Vogt did not want to pull his old teammate and put his own emotions over the team in that situation. That was really bad and I thing Vogt has been great for the most part, but that was a rookie manager blunder. Coming on the heels of the huge Naylor two out 3R HR made it even worse in that situation.

Hope that does not continue the tailspin.

Guardians hang on for the win after Barlow and Sandlin combine to blow an 8-3 lead.

Big Christmas with two taters.

Clase is incredible.

Atmosphere at the stadium has been great and every game starting to matter.

Lane Thomas is 4-45 (.095 BA) in the month of August since being acquired by the Guardians on 7/30. OBP of .174 and a slugging % of .143.

Please stop putting him in lineup everyday.

they benched him again today.

Lane Thomas has managed 5 hits and 4 walks out of the last 46 at bays with .109 BA and .180 OBS.

He's really stinking it up vs lefties too... He's hitting .167 vs lefties with 2 hits and 5k's.

Was at the game tonight and moved to an uncanny 16-0 on the season. Was thrilled to see Thomas benched again and Johnkensy in the lineup on back-to-back days. Tattooed another dinger which was the difference in the game. 429ft and 111mph exit velo.

Great outing by Boyd making his first start tonight.

Over 29k fans at the ballpark tonight. Nice to see on a Tuesday evening.

Clase with four saves in four nights is incredible.

Also, amazed at the jump Noel has made from just occasionally smashing HRs, to the AB he has tonight He fouled off ~five balls and worked nearly a 10 pitch AB before smashing that HR.

Wasn't long ago he was hitting HRs for the Lake County Captains.

I hope so too.

Some closers can last a fairly long time, and others burn out after 5-6 years. Not having a regular schedule takes a toll.

They are going to lose first place. The offense is just not good. Did not do enough to fix in offseason or deadline. Twins coming on, we have the worst offense of any of the division leaders and pretty much all potential playoff teams if not all. Not sure if theres any help coming in callups but better figure out fast or this run at the top this year will be short lived.

I guess being a pro athlete has its advantages? Hell, I have split my thumb nail so many times, yet still work. Actually had a fingernail fall off, yet still worked. I'm just a commoner though.

Big win to start this series. This felt like a playoff game. A loss could have been demoralizing.

20 LOB has to be approaching some sort of record.

Lane Thomas finally does something and has a huge PH double in the 12th.

its really the same thing all season, we simply don't have a good offense, its been that way for years now and we never seem to address it. If we don't end up in 3rd place I'd be surprised. We have to find some bats

In your job, you didn't jam your nail into a hard ball and control it thru the nail.....unless you throw the same pitch for money.

Our pitching stinks.....we are producing enough runs, but starting pitching has to be near the top as BAD.

Just in case most aren't paying attention ... and it seems most aren't ....... The Guardians magic number to make the playoffs is 2 ... and to win the Central is 8. (after tonight's games)
