Dang, cbs.Sportsline.com gamecenter is way behind. It JUST posted the double play that ended the Sox 8th. And no mention of interference. You have to keep us updated.

Just a sidenote...
Anyone miss the old Indians hats? The ones with the darker blue and the bigger Wahoo logo?
I bought one the other day and I think it's a lot better looking.

Oddly enough, I'm making soup for dinner. I guess I can't have any. Damn!
Good for Casey though.

Dye HR off Borowski. Better hold a 3-run lead Joe.

What a bee yoooooooooooo tiful day for baseball at the Jake today. Sun was peaking through at times today and was about 60 all day. Exciting game as well, good to see.
As for the Reds fans...Corey Patterson leading off? Really?
Dusty Baker is going to ruin that team.

Don't you mean "The Prog?" I will miss it being named Jacobs Field and calling it "The Jake." I'm sure people will still call it that.

Hawk Harrelson is crying a river.
i just got done watching it, i'm loving it
i thought he was going to have a heart attack
the crede call was obviously bad... but the ump didn't have the best vantage point, so he gave shoppach the benefit of the doubt
but that interference call was correct, you can't just stick your arm out and try to grab the guy as he's making a throw... there is a difference between sliding into a guy in your path, and reaching out and playing bush league baseball...
it's funny when the white sox whine about bad calls considering they won a world series a few years ago on quite a few of them...
not to mention, they gave up 3 runs the next inning... they lost their focus, that isn't championship baseball, they are not a very good team...
gotta love joe cowley too (sox beat reporter, chicago sun times), he picked the sox to win the wild card, i really hate that guy, i can't believe he has a job... this is the same guy who didn't vote jeter for mvp a few years ago, simply because he was a yankee...
this guy constantly takes shots at the city of cleveland, he's orginally from there, and obviously has an agenda against them...
last year he actually called cc sabathia "cc cartman" (as in the south park cartman) in one of his articles... yes, that was printed, and yes he wrote that about a guy who's lifetime 13-3 against the team he writes for...
well, i guess if you can't beat them, resort to name calling.

It's not a real Indians game until Borowski comes in to give up a run and/or put at least one guy on base.
I'm telling you, I know the guy put up a lot of saves, but I just don't like him as a pitcher. I don't think he's very good. JMHO

I dont think it was. I have TIVO so as they were showing the highlights in slow mo I slowed it down with the TIVO and backed it up and paused it several times and it looked like Shoppach clearly tagged Crede on his right wrist/ forearm area that was sticking up as he went down into his slide, his foot was well short of the plate at that point. I think he tagged him and the ump go it right.

In any event, good call or bad, it was a tough one to make. I mean, it was bang-bang.
What may be more troubling is the fact that the throw was so poor. I mean, c'mon Peralta, you didn't have to make the perfect throw because the guy had to be tagged. You just had to make the throw so Shoppach could step on the plate.

It was definitely a tough call to make, glad the ump got it right I wonder if we would have got that call in Chicago, or against the Bo Sox or Yanks?? KING

Yeah uber bad throw. Was it Peralta or Caberra that threw so wide to Garko he had to dive to get it and as a result the runner stepped on Garkos back?

I think that was Peralta, too. However, on that throw, he was moving to get the ball in the gap, so it's a *little* more excusable, although not too much.
I just remember watching a game last year (can't remember which one) when Peralta wasn't able to get to a ball in the gap and the announcer said "wow, I think a 40-year old Omar Vizquel would have been able to get that one."

I know it won't matter to the people who will always hate Borowski no matter what he does, but that would have been a routine fly ball any other day. I was sitting in the bleachers and the wind played an absolutely huge roll in the game today. Thome's second bomb and Dye's HR in the ninth would have been outs on a normal day. Franklin's HR in the second, I'm not so sure about. The wind wasn't blowing to left until the later part of the game, so who knows. Not an excuse, just something to keep in mind. We got the win on a day when our pitching didn't come through and we're in first place. Not too bad of a day at the old ballpark.

This question may be rhetorical, just like my old assertions about NOT sending Lofton last year in Game Seven,...so they DIDN'T send Kenny last year, and now, they RUN VM ?? WHY, .... was Martinez running,...?????????????? I can't think of a good enough reason, with a 7-2 lead, early in the game -- this early in the season -- to have either Victor Martinez stealing a base,...(update me with the out-count here folks,...), or have a hit-and-run "on."

Personally, I don't think Wedge is a good manager. I know, coach of the year, blah blah blah. Did he get results? Certainly.
I just don't like him as a manager. JMHO

i didn't like him that much as a manager last year, but he really showed me a ton in the playoffs... he pushed every button he was supposed to...
his ace did not perform like an ace... if he did, we'd be talking about world series champion manager, eric wedge...
i've got a lot more respect for the guy then i did at this point last year... and i think it's kind of the same thing with romeo, that his guys are right behind him, just as he backs them every game... it's a good relationship...

On that play, V-Mart had to decide to go or stay, and it has to be done quickly. You cannot blame Wedge, no matter how hard you try, for V-Mart getting hurt.

I didn't see it live, but I think it was a ball in the dirt. I'm not sure how far away it got from Pierzynski, but it must've have been pretty far if Victor chose to run. From the replays, it looks like he would've been safe easily if he didn't get hurt...

From what I saw, I don't think that Wedge sent him either. I think he ran because the catcher lost the ball.
I think that was pretty lame to bash Wedge for that one.
