Well, I've had the Wii and the Wii Fit for just over a week now.
While it's enjoyable, I was a little disappointed with it. I wanted to try out the Wii Sports, but it's just too simple of a game. I thought it'd be more involved than it is. I do the bowling a lot, and some of the boxing, but didn't care for the others. Like baseball, I thought you'd at least be able to place your pitches, but it's basically throwing it, then it's automatic and you have no control of anything.
I do enjoy the Wii Fit. I've been doing it pretty much daily. I just set up the internet via the Wi Fi ( cool feature I didn't know it had) and may have to download some classics. I may buy some more games in the future, but I guarantee that most of the games I do buy will be for my PS3. We basically bought the Wii for the Wii Fit, but me and the wife like to bowl. (and for some damn reason she beats me a lot).
If I do buy a game, any suggestions? I know they have a new Punch Out! coming (unless its out) that I may consider. Other than that, not sure what interests me.
There's just too many damn good games coming out for the PS3 this year, 2 of which are this week and next.
I haven't followed the Wii to see what they really have planned for the future. I just with they'd have spent just a little more to enhance their games graphically, as it seems no different than their last-gen system. I know that's not the point of it, but it is something that I enjoy.

Has anyone tried out that Shaun White snowboarding game with the balance board?
Seems like it would be a fun game with the balance board. I love the Skip Jump and Downhill on the Wii Fit.

I have the Shaun White game. I got it for my kids but they don't really like it. I tried it and thought it was pretty cool. It just doesn't get much play in my house. There are other games that just get a lot more use.

Get Rock Band 2, 17. That game is really fun. I also suggest Mario Kart. That's a blast, although Jules and Michelle don't like it at all.

You can control the pitches in Wii Sports Baseball. Probably not to your exact liking, but my hubs showed me how to pitch inside/outside etc. I showed him curveball/fastball etc. Damned if I can remember any of them. I haven't played that one in a while.

017 is a party pooper, he's too in love with his other gaming system favorite to become a true Wiier. 017, you certainly have to play more games than Sports and Wii fit. I got bored with the basic sports thing real quickly, although bowling is always fun to do from time to time. There are lots of good suggestions in this forum, you should try some others out.

Yeah, Wii Sports is more fun with a few people over, not as much fun solo. At least for me. But as I have said before, I used to be big into the other systems, and graphics do play a big role for me in games, but the Wii is a great system, a lot of games are just a blast to play. I also love having access to all the old school games on the Wii Shop Channel.
Its too bad the 360 hardware sucked, cause I enjoyed the system much more than my PS3, this Killzone 2 better be what the PS3 fanboys make it out to be.

Jules- I'll probably end up buying some games. I do use it everyday pretty much for the Wii Fit, and use the bowling a fair amount. But there was a game that was released yesterday for the PS3 and another next week that I'll be playing a lot, so it may be a while before I end up buying another Wii game.
Like I said, it's a cool and innovative system, I just wished they beefed up the hardware just a little more.

I have the shaun white showboarding and the wii fit balance board. It is a decent game, and a lot of fun with the balance baord. at first it is hard to control, but i have started to get the hang of it.
I think that it makes a great use of the balance board, and is an interesting dynamic, but beating the game with the balance board alone would be very hard. The Controls are intuitive, but it is much easier to land tricks by moving a joystick, then by shifting body weight.
Good game and worth playing. It is the first game that I have played that made a good use of the balance board.

Have you seen the thread about women drivers?
We have half a dozen games (none of the good ones.. ) but I find myself playing Wii sports the most.. mostly because that's what my 5 year old wants to play, she likes the simpler games.... that and I haven't mastered everything... yet.

I don't play Mario Kart with Jules and Michelle because they are too good. I just like to beat up on the computer players.

We definitely need to play Mario Kart again as I have gotten much better than the initial time. Picked up some of the tricks and finally unlocked my Mii character.

I don't have the Wii ... you're welcome to get Gran Turismo for PS3, and test your driving skills against me there.

Wii Play. Really NOT fun for long. I think it's better to save the $10 and buy the controller alone, as you did.

Order it off the net, trust me, the fam will love it. I brought it over my parents house one Saturday morning, that same night they were calling me asking to come pick it up cause they needed their fix and couldn't find it in the store.

Well, my kids love animal crossing, I can't stand it. We all play Mario Kart and Lego Star Wars. I personally really like Blazing Angels (WW2 air plane game). I am very disappointed with COD world at war, the control is painful compared to other consoles and PC.
One thing that has been a real life saver for us is the recharge station. I have 4 Wiimotes and the Psyclone recharge station. It is a little tedious getting the remotes to sit exactly right for charging, but I can't even imagine how much it has already saved on batteries since Christmas.
