Shannahan's scheme wasn't a great fit for him. He doesn't have the legs to be a roll out passer anymore.

Vikings OL made ours look like the great wall of Cleveland. I saw Ponder take a 7 step drop and Peppers was literally there waiting for him to finish his drop lol it was bad. I think he has a few years left, hell it wasn't his fault that he would have a 3 td lead and the OC didnt want to pound the ball with AP in the 4th. Dunce cap needed up there for whomever was calling the plays.

I hope that Manning winds up in Washington, (why wouldn't he want to play, and see, his brother twice a year?)

Hopefully the Dolphins snap up Flynn.

Maybe then we can move to #2 for the #4 pick and a 3rd rounder. lol

yeah, that is best case scenario-- Manning to the skins, Flynn to the dolphins (or flip it around- but not as likely). I seriously doubt the rams would trade inside the division to Seattle- and if they did the price would be huge. That would decrease the price for the #2, maybe to the point that it wouldn't even be worth trading. The rams could just stay put and take Kalil. Now, the vikes have so many holes that staying in the top 5 probably isn't important to them- Seattle could be in play once again.

If the Skins and Fins are out, I can't imagine why we'd want to trade up at all? Well I can't imagine why we'd want to in the first place but surely not with both of them out.

Mainly because someone might jump up from well below to snatch victory from us.

You never know, there are a lot of WR available in free agency, and what if the Rams sign 2 of them ...... and add a pair of Guards, one of them being Nicks. (and I don't even know what their cap situation is, or if that would be possible) Maybe then they decide that they want to trade down for a pair if Tackles in the 1st/2nd round, plus a couple of future picks. Suppose that someone in the 15-20 range decides that they would like to take a shot at RG3, because they never thought that they would have the chance ..... but now might. I could see them being swayed by a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd this year, and a 1st next year to drop down into that 15-20 range.

That would hurt. It may not be the most likely scenario ...... but I could see them going for veteran WR help for Bradford, plus a veteran Guard to help jump start their offensive development, and get him on track immediately.

The question becomes how far are the Rams likely to want to drop and I really can't see them willing to go farther down than 6, beyond 8 I don't think is even in the equation.

Peyton Manning derby: Ranking 12 potential landing spots for QB’s services
Michael Silver

By Michael Silver, Yahoo! Sports Mar 6, 11:26 pm EST

.....

11. Cleveland Browns: Two words: Brad Childress. If Manning is checking references for the newly hired offensive coordinator and former Vikings head coach, I’m sure Favre is only a phone call away. Remember when a Vikings player told my Y! Sports colleague Jason Cole that “Brett thinks Childress has no clue about offense”, a contention corroborated by multiple sources? Throw in the fact that Childress is headstrong, prickly and vociferous, and you’ve got a marriage made in hell.

Can't wait for the day that Favre gets close to getting into the hall of fame.. First they'll vote him in, then they' ll say,,, no wait,, we don't vote him in,, then no wait, we want him voted in... and so on..

you have to respect favre on the field, but the last 5 years, he's been a PR disaster..

Anyone suggesting that Manning would be considering Cleveland as the place he wants to end his career, needs to have his head examined, Michael Silver.

This is nothing more than Silver using this opportunity to take a "cheap shot" at Cleveland.

Everyone knows Peyton would not want to play outside in Cleveland in the winter, on a team in the middle of a rebuilding process...Silver is a dunce.

Buzz builds that Broncos will make a run at Manning

Mike Florio on March 7, 2012, 7:55 PM EST

Mike Klis of the Denver Post has reported that the Broncos will explore the possibility of signing quarterback Peyton Manning.

There’s a buzz in league circles much stronger than that.

One league source told PFT in response to the Klis report that there’s a belief the Broncos quietly have positioned themselves to make a significant push to land Manning.

If successful, it makes sense. The only way to cure Tebowmania is to replace the current starter with someone clearly better, and a nearly healthy Peyton Manning is just that.

It’s unknown what the Broncos would do with Tim Tebow, if they land Manning. Presumably, Tebow would take a back seat to Peyton. Or perhaps the Broncos would have the right opening to move Tebow to a new position.

The problem the Broncos face is that, if they fail to land Manning, they’ll make a somewhat awkward situation a lot more awkward — especially since Tebow and Manning are both represented by the same agency.

And here’s one last thing to keep in mind. Even though Peyton was released on Wednesday, everyone has known it was coming for weeks. Surely, teams were talking to Manning’s camp. Even more surely, one or more teams already have gained some separation from the pack.

Matt Flynn? - Miami: They make a push for Peyton but they are out bid.

Peyton Manning? Denver Bronco's: If anyone can release them from Tebow Mania it's Peyton. Plus they have a ton of money under the cap so they can also get one of his favorite targets in Garcon or Wayne.

Donovan McNabb? - Might get a look if another starting QB gets injured beyond that no where.

Andrew Luck? - And with the 1st pick in the 2012 NFL Draft the Indianapolis Colts select.....

RG3? - Washington - They give up a ton of picks for him, they were out bid for Manning and the fact that Manning doesn't want to play in that division and they panic and give STL three first rounders plus an assortment of 2nd round, 3rd round and later picks over the next two drafts.

Ryan Tannehill? - Cleveland: After losing out on RG3 and Matt Flynn they draft Blackmon at #4 and package #22 and other picks to jump up and get Tannehill. Colt starts day one unless Tannehill beats him in camp and preseason by a long shot.

Just the way I see it.

I swear I was writing my post before while you were posting this. That is exactly what I was thinking after I heard they would be interested and they had like 40 mill under the cap.

free...For Manning, I do not believe it's about the highest bidder..but more about the best fit for him. Miami is a good fit for Manning and would give the Browns a great shot at landing Flynn in free agency.

This is a scenario that could very well happen if the Browns pass on bringing in a free agent qb.

Yeah but Miami is about 13 Million under the cap, Denver is about 40 million under. Denver can pay Manning 18million next year and Miami can't unless they unload some players. That is what I mean about being out bid. The Player Association will put pressure on Manning to take the bigger payday out of the teams that are the right "fit" for him.

Maybe, Just maybe, the Broncos are happy with Tebow? just a thought.

Maybe, however I think they would like to have someone that well resembles the type of quarterback that John Fox and John Elway wants.

Tebow is like Josh Cribbs, a football player. Give him the ball and he can make things happen. However I don't think they are banking on Tebow leading them to a championship nor do I think they are content with having him under center for the next 5 years. Now maybe they bring in Manning and Tebow can sit behind him and he can be groomed giving him time to work on his mechanics and learn a more complex offense and Tebow can turn into that guy.

Perhaps.. but I think Denver is the best win/win situation out there.. the only drawback is the weather..

Upside, the division is terrible and if they can win 9 games they will probably win the division.

Upside, they have a playoff caliber defense and if they could land a WR like Reggie Wayne with Manning.. that's a big bonus.

Upside, "Tebow mania" calms down (unless Peyton gets there and they lose their first 3 or 4 games)..

Upside, if you really do believe in Tebow, let him take the success he has had and refine his QBing and passing skills under Manning for 2 or 3 years and then when Manning is done, see where he is.

Downside, weather....

Downside, not a very good WR corps unless they add somebody..

Downside.. playing in Tim Tebows shadow..

Ok, that last one was a joke..

not to mention that you could still use Tebow like Meyer did his freshman year. they could definitely co-exist like that and be lethal.

however, does Manning want to play in the cold? does Denver have enough weapons? does Peyton want to go to a place where the fans already adore the current QB?

First post here but I don't think Denver fans will have a problem if Denver lands Manning.

no, I don't think that they would. it's more a perception thing from Peyton. a much smaller factor than the other reasons though.

Totally agree. Peyton is going to play a bigger role in where he goes then the teams courting him will.
