"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Well I'm working Saturday, so it's probably our best shot..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Novel notion, that. Take some flukes our way. How about over/under for punts instead? I say seven.

This is it...SD in the cold weather. Hopefully our D will be aggressive and not let Rivers rip us apart. But if there is a nice cold wind its a good equalizer and their WRs have been dropping a lot of balls lately.
Where is that bookie...time to make some money...lol

Hey, somebody had to ask... Can we win? Probably not. But remember, a loss means a better pick on draft day! (So maybe it's better that we lose?) ...But still, it would be nice to win one.

I'll say it again, I'm not sure they want to win. Maybe they want the first pick., As of right now, the closest team to us is San Fran, Maybe if the 49ers win, then we can win and not lose the 1st pick??????????

I never liked (actually despise) the thought of losing for a better draft pick. Messes with the locker room and probably gives Jimmy an excuse to move the team given all the empty seats.
Don't want to go through that again.

gives Jimmy an excuse to move the team given all the empty seats. First off, you can't just move a team. Second, don't the Browns have a crazy lease? Third, to where? The league doesn't even want to Chargers or Raiders to move.

Negative. The Brows will lose.
The Browns offense is terrible. Rivers to Gates or Hunter Henry all day long. Should be a walk in the park.

Cleveland is a cash cow. He's not moving the team.

This thread should be titled, "Should we win?"
Is it worth one win to give up the chance at the first overall pick? If we end tied with San Francisco they will likely get the first overall pick because their schedule is easier.
Having the choice of whatever player you want is extremely valuable (obviously). So is being able to trade down from the number one pick (as the Titans showed last year).
I am not saying we should lose on purpose, I am saying winning one game might not be in the best interest for the long term future of the team.

This thread should be titled, "Should we win?" The word 'should' seems to imply that the browns actually have the ability to win. They really do not have that ability. Though, it's the Christmas season and miracles can happen!

You play to win. This team in not tanking. They are really that bad. Shoot if Hue was trying to go into tank mode, he would have just kept McCown in there. That's a 100% guarantee to lose. Not that the other Qbs aren't. So Vegas has the Chargers laying 6. That's a lot of points in Cleveland for a Chargers team that isn't very good at all. Maybe Vegas has finally figured out that the Browns are worse than they thought. That means it would be 10...10.5 in San Diego. No the Browns are not winning.
Congratulations to our 2016 NBA Champion CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!! Greatest comeback in sports history... Hail to the King!

The Chargers are not very good, but they are better than Cleveland.
I knew the season would be rough, it was.
We find ourselves praying to the draft gods on Christmas, and hoping that other teams lose to improve our position.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

Still think the odds are against us but there are some reasons to think that this team can win tomorrow.
1. No Melvin Gordon. The Browns have been horrible against the run, but they've had significant injuries the RB Corp and will be trotting out Farrow and Hillman. I think they have some injuries on the o-line as well.
2. Tyrell Williams has a torn labrum (although will probably play) & Keenan Allen has been out all season. Very little WRs to rely on and I'm guessing the Browns will be focusing more on Rivers and the passing game as the Chargers plan of attack.
3. Rivers has thrown 11 interceptions in his past 5 games. He's the gun slinger and the spread on this game is 5.5, meaning a big play in our favor could be the deciding factor.
4. Not sure how the team will react to their HC being on the hot seat. I think that could go in a few different directions based on how they like him. Still, no one wants to lose to an 0-fer team either.
What worries me is the combo of Gates and Henry, especially in the Red Zone. We've been horrible against TE all season long.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I think if we mess around and beat the chargers, we're probably gonna get McCoy fired.
He's already been on the hot seat going into the end of last season. A loss to the winless browns? They will be calling for his head.

That is, of course, assuming we lose to Pitt on the 1st and SF loses to Seattle.

Wow, so we currently have a -13.4 point differential per game. That has to be pushing for an all time record.

What I'm a Bengals fan because I live in Cincy? You're weak! This is from the article cfrs posted in the main forum, if you care to actually know: What's noticeable, though, is that there is a significant gap between Cleveland's point differential and its win-loss record. The Browns have been outscored by 188 points in 14 games, or about 13.4 points per contest. That's bad, but it's not historically bad or close to it. The 1976 Bucs, who went 0-14, were outscored by a full touchdown more, 20.5 points per game, in an era where teams scored fewer points than they do now. In fact, 26 teams since the merger have been outscored by more points per game than the Browns.

And for all those that want to rag on all the negative posters. What in the hell do we have to feel good about? Being a fan doesn't mean you have to support the way they are doing things and I do not think things are moving in the right direction at all no matter how much the homers want to make us think that.

In fact, 26 teams since the merger have been outscored by more points per game than the Browns.
I wonder if any of those 26 are Browns teams from years past, 99-present, or even the Bud Carson years.
Well, I'm going to comment.
I think there are members of the Cleveland Browns team that can win this, and any , game. The problem is, that even with their outstanding performances, the team together has to achieve the win, and that means
There just might be some other area of the game that sabotages these winning performances' ability to get the win. Duke Johnson, and Isaiah Crowell, and others are the first to come to mind, that can make the plays that will get the win.
I seriously just look back, wishfully, thinking the franchise would be much closer to where they want to be had they
Kept Pettine, and Farmer, (or Heckert further back), but Pettine and Farmer, and seriously sought to bring back all the leaving free agents last season, and looked to add the best Rb they could to the mix with the 1st pick last year.
Why the RB, because it continues on toward the 4 better than avg. Rb's goal that might give you an advantage in one area.
Even if only they'd have franchised Gipson, and worked a deal with Benjamin, If they'd explained how Manziel failed, when on the field he didn't.
Jimmy, Dee, Sashi, Depodesta, and Hue,... holding the meetings? = I just want to cover my eyes.
I have to have faith in Jimmy, he's the owner, I've got to believe he's going to do the right thing.
One last thing.
When I hear Hue Jackson, the Head coach of the Cleveland FREAKING Browns make comments like ( and it was contexted about bad behavior or something, but STILL!)
comments like " everybody's going to do what they are going to do, and you can't stop people from doing what they are going to do" ( if I loosely recall)
I mean, That is not how a COACH is supposed to speak,
Have a Backbone! Even if you can't get results from those you're supposed to be leading, you have to ask for it. You have to ask for it.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
