All I know is this, he was FUN to watch the last full year he was here. Him and Joe had a pretty decent connection.

Might have been a plan all along
Go to where you started your career, then retire from the team.
Nick Chubb needs to come back to his starting place and retire. His cutting and explosiveness may be affected from the injury
Sad thing to say, I hope he does well

Whether he plays again for us someday, Chubb is a beloved Brown. He knows how Browns fans feel about him.
Class, integrity, and team-first, scored a TD and didn’t make it about himself.
I wish there were more football players like him.

crazy how quickly players go from GOOD to GONE
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Sadly, Jake would be an upgrade. Maybe we could get that guy from The Replacements. OR Dawson! What's he going to do? Miss kicks that cost us a game? We have that already. Get Phil in here! I like Phil at least. He would have an excuse if he missed at his age, Rip Van Dawson. It will all be OK if he doesn't break a hip coming off the walker on his follow through.

We kept Ford over Chubb on account of a small pay cut. Or they knew they didn't have the QB to win it all this season, so went with the RB that wasn't past his prime. Or Berry suspected Stefanski would use Chubb over the rookies that need to develop. Basically got rid of Hyde (Chubb,) so Chubb (Judkins) would play again, but preemptively.

We kept Ford because he is a different style RB than Judkins who is similar to Chubb. People can hate not keeping Chubb but comparing him to the reason for having Ford on this roster is irrelevant.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

We kept Ford over Chubb on account of a small pay cut. No, they replaced Nick Chubb with Quinshon Judkins. One look at the RB depth chart makes that obvious.

We kept Ford over Chubb on account of a small pay cut. Or the Browns just showed Chubb the respect he has earned by not keeping him around as a 3rd RB which is what he would have been this year if we would have kept him. Anybody who knows Chubb and his drive and determination knows he would not have been happy with that.

Sorry to hear.
The whole organ transplant deal is backwards. People die every day. There should never be a person waiting for an organ.
As it stands now, you have to grant permission by checking a box here or there. To me you should have to check a box saying you don't want to help give life.
Heck, I'd make people who don't want to donate pay more in taxes.
Face it, you're dead. What the heck do you care?

guess Antonio Brown isn't technically a player anymore but ... Antonio Brown captured in Dubai by U.S. Marshals on attempted murder charge .... not sure if this is behind a paywall or not. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6785505/2025/11/06/antonio-brown-captured-search-nfl/

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/travis-hunter-injury-jaguars-season-ending-knee-surgery/Travis Hunter's rookie season has come to an end. The Jaguars' wideout/defensive back underwent knee surgery on Tuesday morning that has effectively ended his 2025 season. Specifically, Hunter's surgery was to repair his LCL. He is expected to return to football activities within six months, according to ESPN. The No. 2 overall pick in April's draft, Hunter was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 31 after suffering a non-contact injury during practice. At the time, the Jaguars gave no indication that Hunter's injury was potentially season-ending. "You just feel bad for the guy, for the kid, for our team, for everything," Jaguars coach Liam Coen said at the time. "But he's in good spirits right now. Minor setback for a major comeback. That's just the way it's gotta be." The reigning Heisman Trophy and Biletnikoff Award winner, Hunter caught 28 of 45 targets for 298 yards and one touchdown in seven games this season. On defense, Hunter tallied 11 tackles, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery. Hunter was enjoying an uptick in production just prior to getting hurt as the Jaguars made a concerted effort to get him more involved offensively. He set season-highs with 8 receptions (on 14 targets) for 101 yards and a score in his most recent game, a 35-7 loss to the Rams in Week 7. Jacksonville will now continue with its task of trying to win games without Hunter. The Jaguars are 5-4 entering Sunday's home game against the 7-3 Chargers.

Colts sign 44-year-old QB Philip Rivers in wake of Daniel Jones' season-ending injury Rivers joins the Indianapolis practice squad The Indianapolis Colts' 2025 season is in danger of ending on a sour note, as quarterback Daniel Jones went down with a torn Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. With the division and a playoff spot on the line, the 8-5 Colts are bringing back the quarterback that started for them the last time Indianapolis made the postseason. Enter Phillip Rivers. The Colts are signing the 44-year-old quarterback to their practice squad, CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones reports. Rivers worked out for the team Tuesday, and the team felt comfortable enough to add him to the mix. Rivers became a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame just last month, but a potential induction will have to wait. Rivers, who is now a grandfather, joins a new-look quarterback room headlined by Riley Leonard and Brett Rypien. Leonard is considered to be the new QB1 with Anthony Richardson still on injured reserve. However, the rookie is dealing with a knee injury, and it's unknown if he will start Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. There are four quarterbacks 44 or older to start an NFL game: Tom Brady, Vinny Testaverde, Warren Moon and Steve DeBerg. Next Sunday, it will have been 1,800 days, or almost five years, since Rivers last took a snap in an NFL game, according to CBS Sports Research. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/indianapolis-colts-qb-philip-rivers-visit-daniel-jones-injury/

This sounds scary. Hope he's OK. TJ Watt injury: Steelers' star being evaluated for lung issue at hospital - CBS Sports https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/t-j-watt-injury-lung-steelers-hospital/T.J. Watt was taken to a Pittsburgh area hospital for further evaluation of his lung after experiencing discomfort at the Steelers practice facility on Wednesday, the team announced. Watt will not practice on Thursday and his status for Pittsburgh's upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins is in question. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin will provide more updates "at the appropriate time." The 31-year-old Watt is in the middle of his ninth season with the Steelers, who selected him with the 30th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. A seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro, Watt won NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2021 after tying the league's single-season record of 22.5 sacks. Watt, who has led the NFL in sacks on three separate occasions, is the Steelers' career leader with 115 sacks. Earlier this season, he surpassed his brother and future Hall of Famer JJ Watt on the NFL's career sack list. In 13 games this season, Watt has recorded 7.0 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and an interception for the Steelers, who are currently 7-6 and lead the Baltimore Ravens by one game in the AFC North standings. If Watt can't face Miami, he will be replaced by Nick Herbig, a fellow former Wisconsin Badger who has made nine starts over the past two years. This season, Herbig has recorded a career-high 6.5 sacks to go with three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Dry needling is a physical therapy technique where thin needles are inserted into painful "trigger points" (tight muscle knots) to relieve pain, improve motion, and promote healing by releasing muscle tension and increasing blood flow. A trained therapist uses a solid, filament needle (like an acupuncture needle) without injecting any substance, causing a twitch response that signals muscle release. It's used for conditions like back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, and tennis elbow, often alongside other therapies.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Yeah, make that a double please ! lol That's just crazy !

What is this craziness I’m reading. Dry needling is a normal procedure. You barely feel the needle, it feels good and the release of the muscle and getting back the range of motion is amazing for a quick stick.

She has "dry needled" so many athletes, including at the D2 level, down to high school. It's not painful.

I was having some gentle man jack last night ( good stuff ) and I looked up to see if it was a bourbon. I saw the exact explanation you posted last night then again this morning. strange

I remember back to a video I watched on stuff football players used to recover. It was either James Harrison or a RB from NYG, but one of the things mentioned was the gage of needle used as well as the technique for that particular athlete. It was intense.

A rare but dangerous side effect of dry needling is organ damage resulting from a needle that punctures a major organ. This may include a pneumothorax (punctured lung) if needles are inserted in the chest.

Peen and Pit my good old tailgate friends friends, I apologize. My Favorite is George Dickel Bourbon Whiskey from Cascade Distillery. It says Bourbon first then whiskey. I know it's Kentucky Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey, That Tennessee Whiskey comes from a charcoal filtered Bourbon. It's aged 8 years. Our friendships are aged 25 from the Muni Island.. LOL and happy for those years.

I have never really been a big fan of either Bourbon nor Tennessee whiskey. A little rough around the edges for me. I prefer something a little smoother like Crown Royal with a little ice.
But between Jack and Dickel I've always preferred Dickel. And for me it isn't close.
I certainly have many fond memories from the days we all used to Tailgate in the Muni Lot. Dawgtalk Island will always bring a smile to my face.

One out of 4 or 5 are a bit startling as you can feel your muscles almost jump.

Not worthy of a new thread, but more like franchise news.
What the heck is going on in Cincinnati? Burrow sounds like he's ready to leave (not "having fun"), product on the field is crap, stadium sucks.
This week they didn't even bother to clear snow and ice from the day before and that mess was there for fans at a game time wind chill of -1. Didn't even clear the handicap seats. Fans reported taking a solid hour to enter south gate with only two lanes flowing and NO vendors open once they got in.

We are a bad team; BUT we have an excuse.
We don't have a quarterback and haven't had one since Baker.
The Bengals have Burrow who is damn good and they can't win. Plus Mike Brown doesn't pay. Haslam at least will spend.

Lamar is not getting traded.
That would be shocking.
However, he is listed as doubtful for Saturdays game against the Packers.
If the Ravens lose they are out of the playoffs.
In addition it changes the Browns game for Sunday. The Steelers will be the North's champs. They will rest their starters.
Giving the Browns an excellent chance to win Sunday. A win and the Browns chances to get a top QB in the draft are most likely shot.

“I know there’s a perception out there, but we don’t tell Andrew what to do. He brought [the idea of a fully guaranteed contract] to us and said, ‘This is what I think would get it done.’”
This quote from Jimmy Haslam was in an article from March 29, 2022 (Nate Ulrich, Akron Beacon Journal).
According to the Browns owner, the idea of giving the largest guaranteed contract in NFL history to Deshaun Watson was cooked up by Andrew Berry.
“Andrew gets all the credit for not giving up. Keep digging and digging.”
Ulrich wrote that Haslam “insisted it was Berry’s decision to continue the pursuit.”
When asked about the record-setting guaranteed contract, Paul DePodesta said, “I doubt it’ll be a record for very long.”
So far, the only player to receive more guaranteed money has been Josh Allen ($250M).

I know it’s sometimes exhausting to read a whole article but I highlighted the source in case it’s hard for you to fully understand where these quotes come from.. The owner himself has now presented two versions. A) he doesn’t interfere with his GM and if Berry wanted the trade he supported it. B) the decision to trade for Watson was an organizational decision. It doesn’t matter what the truth is because only those involved know what happened and so far only one involved part has spoken. . .

I'd give them our #24 and our 2nd rounder, maybe even throw in a 2027 3rd round Maxx opposite Myles with Shelby & Mason would be sick.
Run defense would go up a ton and offenses would be pooping themselves trying to figure out how to effectively pass block that line. We would likely never need to blitz and our secondary would be better for it.

We still have the #6 overall, so we could easily target a top OT or WR there - we should have our pick or WR & OT, actually. WR: Jordan Tyson, Carnell Tate, or Makai Lemon OT: Mauigoa, Fano, or Proctor So, we have one of those, guaranteed, at #6
Then we have 3rd round onward. We can definitely get solid OG's and #2 and Slot WR's in that area. Between that and Free Agency we could do well enough.
Money in Free Agency will be a problem. We need to re-work a lot to create space. Pocic will likely be re-signed, and same with Teller, most likely. Conklin is still under contract, his ability to recover will determine a lot. Dawand Jones was fantastic as a rookie, but was trash last year.... could he perhaps move inside and be a monster LG to fill Bitonio's spot? The rest of the guys are just a bunch of guys, but with more time to work together might do better than they did. If nothing else, a number of them earned spots on the depth chart.
Evan Neal from NYG or David Edwards from BUF are young and could be brought in relatively inexpensively. Daniel Faalele also falls into that mold and is currently in BAL so our staff would be really familiar with him and what we're likely to be doing.
At WR, I think that DeAndre Hopkins is a name to watch on a one or two year deal. Reuniting him with Watson may be a plan, plus he's coming from BAL as well, and with that, Tylan Wallace is a potential target as one of those "familiar with the new coach's ways and systems" depth chart guys who will be pretty cheap and can help coach up the WR room. He could probably replace nearly any of our WR's except Jeudy who Hopkins would be an upgrade over, even at his older age. Christian Kirk is also a possible target... long career production, under 30, and should be way more affordable than he would have been a few years ago.
Drafting an OT, signing Hopkins, signing a younger OG from NYG,BUF,BAL Keeping Jeudy: that gives us Hopkins #1, Jeudy #2 and draft picks plus guys we already have + UDFA On OLine: drafted OT, signed OG, Pocic, Teller, Conklin, plus drafted guys and existing + UDFA
plus a VERY scary DL that can stop the run..... our biggest concern would be "can the DB's stop the quick-hitters and cover long enough?". Nobody would have time to take deep shots.

My assumption is that we get our starting LT in the draft (and live through the growing pains), which leaves us with Conklin and Jones as 2 halves of 1 healthy starter-caliber RT.
I thought Pocic's injury pretty much nixed the already-small chance we were going to bring him back. I think we're locked in on Wypler for at least next year. That leaves either Bitonio or Teller... and with them being guards (relatively easy to grab on the cheap in FA as well as already having Zinter) I see a MAX of 1 of those guys coming back.

Hopefully whatever we do for the OL it’ll be an improvement over last season. We really can’t be any worse and without significant improvement it will be another long season.

I like your thinking , but trotting Conklin back out there at RT is sad... I watched him get beat like a drum a whole lot last season. He tore his right patellar tendon in '21. He dislocated his left elbow in '21. He tore his left ACL, MCL, PCL, and meniscus in '23. He finished '25 with two documented concussions in Wk 6 and Wk 13 and then went on IR. He had a right elbow injury just before Wk2 that made him miss three games and was week-to-week on the elbow after that. Dude has been through it and went through it even harder this year. I think that to get an idea of what Conklin still has, wed have to look at the Week 1 Cinci game because that right elbow injury may have affected him greatly after that. If you can't punch or control the rusher, you're kinda hosed.

Welp, Wypler it is.... Linderbaum from BAL is a free agent as well, so that's something to watch for.

I agree round 3 "can" get you a solid player (in your case OG & #2 WR) but using the term "definitely" I am not so sure. We have hit with 3rd in the past with guys like MJ Emerson, Alex Wright, & Fannon. But also, we have missed recently on some 3rd round picks, for instance, Zinter, Ced Tillman (he could still work out, but thus far has been average), Siaki Ika, and David Bell.
All rounds can produce disappointing players, but I prefer to keep higher round picks, unless you also have high cap money to fill other holes. WE have to many holes on OL & at WR. Just my opinion.

Overall, I think your layout was good. However, there are some caveats to what you said regarding the line. I highly doubt Pocic will be back (I do want to point out you replied with the reason why a few posts up). Conklin is a free agent. He has a dummy year for this upcoming year, but I would be surprised if they try to resign him as he has been so unreliable b/c of injuries. I would rather they take a cheap flier on someone than bring him back. Teller is a FA. There is a chance but, I don't see it as they were platooning him at the end of the year. If they bring back anyone, I can see Jenkins coming back as he is still "young". They do have the money to bring in two high profile lineman. They could drop 20 mil (each) for Linderbaum and Rasheed Walker. Will they? I don't know. I would love to see Wyler see the opportunity. Though, it is hard to pass up Linderbaum being a (deserved) pro bower and being young. Walker would be an above average LT and still young at 25-26 years old. Draft one of the top OTs, Walker at LT, the rookie at the other, fighting with Jones for RT. Linderbaum at center (or Wypler). Jenkins at one guard spot with a cheaper FA at the other. You draft a guard in the 2nd (if someone falls) or the proceeding rounds for depth and/or possible starter or future starter.

Since this has turned into an o-line thread, let me ask this question here:
What are people's thoughts on moving D'wand Jones inside to guard?

He’s super tall for a guard, which is not ideal. You want your guards to be squat, lower center of gravity, to dig in, punch out and not get knocked backwards, to get leverage under the DLinemen and hold ground, like a plug. Which is pretty different than the tackle skill set, where lateral movement and wide wingspan and movement in space matter much more, to act more like a net. I mean, in a pinch he could probably do it but inside DL would be getting under him and knocking him off balance, which might be pretty easy for them since guards more or less need to stand in one spot and his center of gravity is relatively high. Plus, you want your interior OL to be on the shorter side so the QB has a good view of the middle of the field.

I understand what you are saying and wouldn't disagree
But to the contrary, many people are suggesting the malugoia, and proctor, and dunker may be better at OG than OT in the NFL

Yea, I don’t know. I’m just spouting the common knowledge of course. I’ve always thought you don’t want guards over about 6’-4” or so. I don’t know how tall all those guys are (too lazy to check) or if actual nfl scouts are considering them for guard or if it’s just pundits. Usually when I hear that they’re more suited for guard it tells me either they’re shorter/ lower center of gravity (wrestlers build, ie, shorter legs, longer torso), narrower wing span OR they don’t have lateral speed/ quick feet. If they’re big, maybe they’re slow?

I'll add that D Jones is a poor run blocker...it's why he won't be a starting RT either. He's a swing, backup tackle or out of the league.

Mauigoa is 6'6 335# They say he might be moved to guard because his arms are short
Proctor is 6'7 366# I am not sure but I think the move to guard would be because he is too slow/has heavy feet

Teller was playing with injuries and they did effect his play.

I remember when people were lauding this contract (comparing it to when Watson's was restructured) saying it would never be restructured. Lol. Chiefs restructure Patrick Mahomes' deal, create cap space https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...re-patrick-mahomes-deal-create-cap-spaceThe Chiefs, who missed the playoffs in 2025 after reaching the Super Bowl in each of the three previous seasons, created $43.65 million in cap space. It marks the fourth consecutive year that Kansas City has restructured Mahomes' contract. kIcKiNg DaT cAn!

Just read a hypothetical trade. We give the Eagles our 2nd #1 pick #24 for AJ Brown. If he wasn't happy in Philly, I don't think he could be happy here. Thoughts?

Everything from a fight with his coach to reading books on the sideline to his persistent complaining, this is a problem child the Browns don't need.
We're going to see far fetched "hypotheticals" from now until draft day.
If people thought OBJ was bad......
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I agree I would use our 24TH pick on a WR than Brown. We've had enough drama here over the years.

Want no part of Brown - another dippy diva WR.
I would trade our 6th to Dallas (Jerry wants Love or Downs)- get their 2 1st rounders (12th and 20th). Rebuild OL:
12 - Proctor (RT) 20 - Freeling (LT) 24 - Makai Lemon (WR) 39 - Dunning (RG)

This type of trade is something you would expect from a team that's set up for a SB run in the short term and wants to put its offense over the top.
We are not there... to put it nicely.

If he would have went back to Georgia, he would have more than likely be top 10 pick next year. he is a Left Tackle that has played some right tackle. He is young which is his only real knock. I have a feeling he is going to move up after next week's combine. His measurables are good. When he tests well and has ability to play Left Tackle, I think his stock is going to go up before the draft.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...ade-draft-pick-lions-rb-david-montgomeryMontgomery traded to Houston for an Olineman, a 2026 4th, and a 2027 7th. IMO, that's a pretty healthy haul for a 29-year old RB that saw a large reduction in usage despite being healthy/available. This also likely means Mixon is on the way out of Houston.

I think you are being kind. That's insane to give up that much for an aging RB.

My understanding is that, when healthy, he's the man. It's just that that qualifier tends to rear its head often.
