In the end I suspect we will see gabriel play a lot this year.
Just a general comment...It is pretty apparent we will be drafting a QB in the next draft. Watson deserves what he gets, but he didn't deserve to get booed when he came in for the 3rd qtr. That was pre-established. Sanders fans are going to boo anybody who replaces their guy. When we draft this new guy, Shedufus can't even be on the team. We need to do everything we can to set things up as best as possible for whoever we draft.
I hope Sanders plays well enough we can trade him for some 12 year vet to be brought in to mentor the new guy. Shedufus can't be anywhere in the picture.

I didn't think I could dislike him more - but after this, man it just adds salt into the wound.
I mean at the base level it sounds like he has checked out. And I don't blame the media - he stepped right thru that door and opened it up for everyone by himself. Firstly by his own actions and secondly in this interview with his what he said.

Well, they can't have a powwow and reinvent how the salary cap works, so I'm not sure what kind of resolution you're looking for. You think Watson's going to leave money on the table for the franchise he's grown to hate? Not likely.
So, obviously this entitled brat has been feeling this way for a while. What exactly did he think we should be cheering for? I can recall one above average game that he showed "glimpses" of his former self. As someone on X said "you can be an $%^hole or you can be bad... you can't be both."

I don't know how this will shake out. Monken is pretty good at avoiding the media b.s. with one-line football talk, maybe that will continue?
I do know that if he does start, he will have a two-game road audition to look otherworldly; or come "home" to a chorus of boos like he's never heard before.
watson's interview yesterday has shown anyone who still had any reservations about it that watson is watson. Blaming the media for asking the questions that watson himself created seems like trying to shift the blame IMO. Spouting about God while plying the victim. I'm certainly glad to see so many who haven't just let him off the hook.
Now for the QB play yesterday.
What I saw from Sanders yesterday is the exact same thing I saw so many criticize Gabriel for. A control style of offense with short to intermediate passes and taking what the defense gives. Sanders didn't try to play hero ball yesterday. Some call that boring but I call it smart. I consider that progress.
But still in the back of my mind I was waiting for the big mistake to come and it did. A throw behind the WR on a short crossing route for the int. Sanders is young and I'm not going to try and crucify him for that mistake. But it's still a consistent tendency people will have to live with.
Sanders made his case to be the starter going into this season. I'm not sure if being the best of a terrible QB room is some great accomplishment but it's better than nothing I suppose.
Watson looked terrible but I won't get into that. He threw for less than 50% and an int. Everyone saw it so enough said.
At any rate, these are the choices we're left with. Thanks Berry.

I have no idea but I haven't to this point seen many signs that he can. On a personal note I don't know why he has been given as long a leash as he has to this point. The past two drafts look at least somewhat promising although I'm the old school variety who believes it takes three years to truly evaluate a draft. So time will tell in that regard.
I think it's fairly obvious to most everyone that next years draft will be make it or break it. As if it's not already broken. It will be his chance to address the QB position in the draft. If he fails at that he is doomed. And nothing to this point indicates to me he has any ability to identify QB talent. Game film alone won't do it. When you ignore a players personal life and things like sitting out on your team when you're under contract, you aren't considering who that player is as a person and how these actions impact him as a player. Evaluating a player is only one part of being an NFL GM. Another critical part of the job is evaluating those players as people.
So in answer to your question, I have hope but no confidence. Because when there's noting else left, there's always hope.
