In the end I suspect we will see gabriel play a lot this year.

Just a general comment...It is pretty apparent we will be drafting a QB in the next draft. Watson deserves what he gets, but he didn't deserve to get booed when he came in for the 3rd qtr. That was pre-established. Sanders fans are going to boo anybody who replaces their guy. When we draft this new guy, Shedufus can't even be on the team. We need to do everything we can to set things up as best as possible for whoever we draft.

I hope Sanders plays well enough we can trade him for some 12 year vet to be brought in to mentor the new guy. Shedufus can't be anywhere in the picture.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Begin with his play on the field.

His play has been horrible. He then says "it has nothing to do with performance it's personal."

It has a lot to do with performance. He came here with a dark cloud over him. In order to win the crowd he needed to play equal to his paycheck. He did not.

His lack of understanding of what is expected when you are paid to perform is astounding.

His play on the field demonstrates a guy who is shell shocked. He lacks full awareness and it leads to his mistakes.

He expects to be embraced because he works out and does community service. Something he was told to do.

Does he actually believe he should start after going public with his emotions about his treatment from the fans?

When asked he should have said "I need to play well and win games fans want to win."

No he acts like he has been abused. How ironic.

Haslam normally would know the head coach makes the decisions on who plays. In this case he will let his feelings be known.

I don't see how Watson stays on the team.

Perfectly said! The lack of self awareness is astounding.

You hit the nail on the heard here - the sexual predator acts like a victim. It's galling.

And he stays with the team because of the contract he has and the salary cap. Well done Berry - genius. Well done Haslam (yet again) - genius.

I mean at the base level it sounds like he has checked out. And I don't blame the media - he stepped right thru that door and opened it up for everyone by himself. Firstly by his own actions and secondly in this interview with his what he said.

Ugh.

I hate the deal that brought him to Cleveland even more now. crazy

His press conference is obviously viral by now.

Someone needs to take charge. The Browns as an organization need to set up a meeting with DW and his agent.

Some type of arrangement needs to be worked out that will resolve this as best as can be done.

Both parties need to be flexible and work towards what is best for all.

DW himself needs to acknowledge this.

I cannot see him remaining with the team.

Well, they can't have a powwow and reinvent how the salary cap works, so I'm not sure what kind of resolution you're looking for. You think Watson's going to leave money on the table for the franchise he's grown to hate? Not likely.

Neither one is great but Sanders is better. It's time for Watson and the Browns to go their separate ways.

So, obviously this entitled brat has been feeling this way for a while. What exactly did he think we should be cheering for? I can recall one above average game that he showed "glimpses" of his former self. As someone on X said "you can be an $%^hole or you can be bad... you can't be both."

What a joke.

I also love how he low-key says nobody has the balls to say anything to him in public. 🤣

I don't know how this will shake out. Monken is pretty good at avoiding the media b.s. with one-line football talk, maybe that will continue?

I do know that if he does start, he will have a two-game road audition to look otherworldly; or come "home" to a chorus of boos like he's never heard before.

He will get his money.

The cap will not change.

What could be done is somehow allow him to leave the team physically.

Have his agents look for a team that may have some interest. That may be a problem.

If there is none. Then maybe he could be paid and be placed on something like a pup list and apply a type of depression.

I am reaching but DW cannot remain with the team after the conference.

Haslam and Berry are going to be involved.

watson's interview yesterday has shown anyone who still had any reservations about it that watson is watson. Blaming the media for asking the questions that watson himself created seems like trying to shift the blame IMO. Spouting about God while plying the victim. I'm certainly glad to see so many who haven't just let him off the hook.

Now for the QB play yesterday.

What I saw from Sanders yesterday is the exact same thing I saw so many criticize Gabriel for. A control style of offense with short to intermediate passes and taking what the defense gives. Sanders didn't try to play hero ball yesterday. Some call that boring but I call it smart. I consider that progress.

But still in the back of my mind I was waiting for the big mistake to come and it did. A throw behind the WR on a short crossing route for the int. Sanders is young and I'm not going to try and crucify him for that mistake. But it's still a consistent tendency people will have to live with.

Sanders made his case to be the starter going into this season. I'm not sure if being the best of a terrible QB room is some great accomplishment but it's better than nothing I suppose.

Watson looked terrible but I won't get into that. He threw for less than 50% and an int. Everyone saw it so enough said.

At any rate, these are the choices we're left with. Thanks Berry.

I can't get over the fixing of the earrings too - such a symbolic moment

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I have no idea but I haven't to this point seen many signs that he can. On a personal note I don't know why he has been given as long a leash as he has to this point. The past two drafts look at least somewhat promising although I'm the old school variety who believes it takes three years to truly evaluate a draft. So time will tell in that regard.

I think it's fairly obvious to most everyone that next years draft will be make it or break it. As if it's not already broken. It will be his chance to address the QB position in the draft. If he fails at that he is doomed. And nothing to this point indicates to me he has any ability to identify QB talent. Game film alone won't do it. When you ignore a players personal life and things like sitting out on your team when you're under contract, you aren't considering who that player is as a person and how these actions impact him as a player. Evaluating a player is only one part of being an NFL GM. Another critical part of the job is evaluating those players as people.

So in answer to your question, I have hope but no confidence. Because when there's noting else left, there's always hope.

It is true. Sanders did take watson's side on this......

Shedeur Sanders calls out Browns fans for booing Deshaun Watson

Shedeur Sanders called out Cleveland Browns fans after they repeatedly booed fellow quarterback Deshaun Watson during Saturday's 31-7 preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Sanders started the NFL preseason game and finished 9-of-11 for 74 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Watson entered after halftime and completed 5-of-12 passes for 36 yards with an interception.

Sanders said the reaction crossed a line because Watson remains part of the Browns. "[I don't like it,] at all, just regardless of competition, we're all human beings," Sanders said after the game. "I think we all need to understand that, in this room, too. We are humans."

Could it be that he too doesn't understand that respect is earned and not just given?

Sanders added that he dislikes making people uncomfortable and wants everyone inside the building treated with respect.

"I don't really like making people feel uncomfortable in different spaces," Sanders said. "That's why, sometimes, like, daily things I do, I try to make sure everybody's comfortable. Because a lot of things, just even, I am, as a person sometimes, can make people uncomfortable. So, I mean, I'm obviously aware of that."

Sanders may wish to look into that. I'm pretty sure that being sexually assaulted by watson made those women far more "uncomfortable" than anything watson is experiencing now.

Sanders' comments came after Watson described the crowd's treatment as "disrespectful" and "personal."

Still, Sanders thanked fans, saying, "Just for all the fans and everything, I really appreciate y'all showing up and everything. And however y'all feel about the situation, about what was shown, about everything."

It's just so crazy. We all just want to watch some football and have a good time, even if the team sucks. I don't want to see Watson anymore, but then he's out like a little bitch "Guess it's 17 away games for me *sniffles*"...SHUT THE [censored] UP, [censored]!

Get this guys out of the locker room away from everyone! And Sanders defending him "He's just putting it some work"...makes me sick.

I can't say that I blame you actually. It helps when you learn to expect things like this. I've had over four years now to get used to it and am now at the point nothing that happens surprises me. That in no way means I'm happy about it. I checked out to some degree right after they signed watson. It's not as if I no longer follow the Browns or no longer hope that they turn it around because I do. It's just that my emotional attachment to the team isn't quite the same as it used to be. That helps too.

I'm all for doing what it takes to win. But there has to be some line in the sand. When they signed watson they not only crossed that line, they pretended it didn't exist.
